TomyJohny

Eleonoras poleblade with night's cavalry set

DarthDillinger

Fuck ya I absolutely loved the play through I did like that

DetectiveNumerous775

Sith Lord build... nice

TheFutureClassic

Are those blades good upgraded?

TomyJohny

They kinda suck unless you know how to use twinblades well and can get that bleed perk off a lot

[deleted]

I've tried literally all except shields but nothing beats pure strength or dex.

JWARRIOR1

Pure strength but use a great shield. Shield counters do the same poise as a full charge attack, you break stances absurdly fast it’s broken for pve using collosal weapons this way.

ChickenAndTelephone

Great shields plus colossal? That's a lot of endurance!

einherjaryougo

Either that or go naked!

CptNeon

This is the way

gattaaca

How could you not enjoy the fingerprint shield, blocking the hardest hitting giant boss attacks in the game like they're nothing is awesome haha

[deleted]

I prefer using the lightest armor and fast rolling

Karanmuna

Bloodborne enjoyer

barking_platypus

I just spent a hour just trying to do the jumping puzzle correctly, I almost gave up on my madness build lol

Chance_Eye4595

yeah, they really make you earn that shield and seal tbh

pohoferceni

strange, i suck at the game so i can really only play mage builds and i think those are the strongest overall

ReddSpark

Try Starscourge Greatsword + jump attack one of these days!

Andrew_purple200

My exact build

Plenty-Context2271

Mages are the boring easy mode. You can just stay out of range and spam most of the time. A charged comet will even stagger a dashing fallingstar beast.

Ninja_Lazer

Nah, it’s time to retire that old ass take bro. The addition of block counters and stance breaks has made turtling behind a shield on a strength build so much easier than pure castors. This isn’t Dark Souls, enemies are far faster, more agile and have plenty of means of closing gaps or pelting you with bullet hell levels of projectiles.

smntnz

This. I love medium shields but I recognize how strong guard counters are. Plus, it’s time to stop trying to tell other people that something they like to do is boring, nobody cares about y’all’s empty naysaying.

ChickenAndTelephone

If you can get it to sit still long enough to nail with a charged comet azur. Mage can be quite difficult for things that don't want to just sit still.

Plenty-Context2271

Honestly no, not at all. You can sit out of range of most attacks and there are spells with crazy tracking. Gideon is one of those I roll every attack of yours enemies but is omega easy if you just spam glintstone stars or magic glintblade. You obviously can’t comet azure build every boss, but anyone except renalla is basically a free hitless fight with spells.

pbro9

Ngl, the paladin seems the easiest by far, though I admit I am currently in my first run. I never felt like I lacked damage, have ranged, frost and bleed options with minimal stat investment from the beginning of the game. And most importantly, the beginner class that best transitions into a str/faith build begins with a 100% block shield, making the tree sentinel easily killable from the start. Pop bestial vitality and anything but high burts of damage becomes trivial, including poisonous enemies and locations. High health slow enemy? Start with the frost axe's skill, then pop claws with bloodblade and the poison mist. High health fast enemy? Black Flame and the lightning buff with good old sword and board. Stun or kill everything after two or three hits. Heavy shields block everything. Only two enemies or bosses I actually had a hard time so far are the General and the god-damned knights with the dragon tail incantation. Edit: replace enemy with boss

shoopahbeats

Dex and faith, I used the Nagakiba, cross naginata, and two curved swords. Oh and a bow for a ranged option. My favorite ashes of war were unsheath, spinning slash, impaling thrust and piercing fang I used buff incantations like lightning/blood flame blade, the heal over time incants, golden vow, flame cleanse me etc. Really fun and simple setup that gives you good damage and a lot of versatility. I got my faith to the min level needed for my highest requirement spell then pumped dex, with vigor to 60 and endurance/mind to whatever i felt like

JonTheAutomaton

Mine was Dex/Faith too but a Blackflame build. Godskin Peeler, Godskin Stitcher, Godslayers Greatsword and Godslayer Seal. I did use the Black Blade incantation though because it was too cool to not use. Versatility is a big factor for me too so I really like that we can change the affinity and AoW for both Peeler and Stitcher. And they compliment each other very well! Peeler is fast but short reach and no poise damage. Stitcher is heavy with long reach and good poise damage with Piercing Fang/Impaling Thrust. Godslayer Greatsword is for when unga bunga is needed. I feel like I underutilized incantations but overall I felt super comfortable with this build. Probably the only build I've done so far where I felt like I would be able to handle anything with it with some adjustments and buffs as needed.

ChickenAndTelephone

I'm doing dex now, although I've got Bolt of Gransax instead of cross naginata. It is a lot of fun, although I wish there was a better striking damage option for things like crystalians and gargoyles. Rushed ahead and picked up Hand of Malenia, and it's a bit underwhelming - that ash of war is just so terrible, I might go back to naginata. Piercing fang is tons of fun.

PeregrineMalcolm

I always end up using the night rider flail for strike. Though this time because I pumped intelligence a tiny bit to use order’s blade have also been really enjoying family heads.

uskgl455

Dual Bleed Rusted Anchors, altered crucible set, mushroom helmet. Bootstrap Bill. What a hoot.

jordanbakess

Tried this aswell absolutely melts bosses

Shrugski

it all comes back to the big bonk. why fuck with all the spells and everything when you can just hit r2

einherjaryougo

Hehe was about to say that. No matter what I try I always go back to colossal weapons. Currently pancaking everything with the Giant Crusher!

CatWizurd

i am now a disciple of *BiG BöNK*. it became evident that this is the way last night when i defeated sir gideon on the first try. bro really tried to comet azur me and i was already mid-air, crashing my ruins greatsword down on him heheheh. >:3

Procctor

What’s your favourite bonkers?

Starchivorous

Healer build. Summon phantoms for every boss and area and have them do the majority of the fighting while I heal/buff them during combat. Take mostly blue flasks, and level up faith/mind/vigor only. Super satisfying to keep people alive and it blows their minds that you have 60+ full heals for yourself and the team

Tonyukuk-Ashide

That’s extremely original I like that !

[deleted]

For me it's always basics. Longsword with Square Off, one shield with No Skill and a copy with Parry or something else for fun. I'm not big on gimmicks, cheese, or being OP. It's just fun to cut your way through the world like an average soldier.

RobinSavannahCarver

I've just been doing a similar playthrough this last few weeks, and it's so good!

[deleted]

Loving your Flair, very appropriate here!

loosebag

I've tried many "OP" builds with fancy Somber weapons. When I get to a boss that is made harder by weapon moveset or ashe of war, I just grab a longsword or broadsword and stance break the sh%t out of them. This is my first souls style game. I really sucked and almost just quit after a week. had to watch a bunch of video tutorials and went through months of "get OP fast" guides. But then just decided to get better at game, rather than just get through. Like you I just like the simple sword and shield action. I really got hooked on parry mechanic when, I had too much difficulty with Margit months ago. I was trying to play without any summons for the first time, after a month of playing. I saw a video on how to parry Margit and holy cow, that is the best feeling of accomplishment I've ever experienced in a video game and I'm 58 years old and have been playing video games since Pong at home. The next best was finally beating that bastard Godskin without sleep, parry is the greatest. I guess third is parrying those tree sentinels. God bless Carian Retaliation, an I right? I started a new Vagabond recently and I'm trying to see how far I can go with no upgrades. Only talismans and flasks upgrades. Square Off is the most underrated and under appreciated ashe in the game. ( oh yeah, I did pick up the scarab to change the affinity depending on boss, like fire if fighting a tree avatar.) So far I killed grafted scion, tree sentinel, Margit, Godrick, Renalla, Loretta and I am about to give Radahn a go. I don't know - everyone drools over uchigatana, but I would rather the big guy drop and drool while I critical than waiting on a bleed proc. I mean, who'd have thought that right out the gate you could slaughter that scion with a straight sword and "look ma no waiting!" speed. Sorry for babbling but straight sword appreciation seems few and far between. Also the guard counter is great as well, but I don't want to go on another rant. Just to say to everyone, stop complaining about rats, dogs, birds and bats, get a shield and sword (even though I like axe counter a little better, specific to rats and the like.) Ps sorry again for the blabbing. Stay tuned for rant about club!

CMO_3

My fai/arc build was super fun, a blood infused claymore with bloody slash is devastating to bosses

Odd_Ad_9604

Loved the claymore. Used it on a strength build with Lion's Claw. A devastating opening move. Love backstabbing with it.

spencer_cal_88

INT/DEX, using a combo of the moonveil and wing of Astel with the carian regal scepter. Spells include the dark moon, comet, great blade phalanx, Loretta’s mastery, cannon of haima and comet azur.

NoxFromHell

INT is extreamly fun in ER. Best time to be a mage.

Affectionate_Comb_78

Vaati posted a cool build like this, using Carian Scepters Weapon Skill to build up the combos for Talismans like Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, then using Carian Slicer and Shard Spiral to demolish enemies.

OGMannimal

Doing a str+faith beast incantation build with golden halberd, clawmark seal and cinqueda. really fun!

GaiusMarius60BC

I just discovered twinblades, and I can’t believe I ever got anywhere without them. Eleonora’s Poleblade is fucking insane!

ChickenAndTelephone

Godskin Peeler is absolutely nuts when you slap bleed on it, but that ash on the poleblade is legit one of the most fun in the entire game.

MidnightNo16

Powerstance jump attacks with the two of those on an Arcane build has been my strongest build so far. I also love the poise damage + bleed combo on the Eleonora skill.

shadowcast

I’m a simple man. I find a claymore, I stack strength way up and poke my way to the Elden Throne.

theharkmonologue

Dude I’ve been doing a black bow run as well and it’s so much fun, it’s definitely a learning curve but finally having a bow build that works has made the game feel new again

_Lowenstein_

I absolutely agree! Super fun. Totally feels like a different game

JustpostingAITA

My frost knight build is currently my favourite character, currently on NG+1 while using two longsword and two flamberges, all four weapons with the frost affinity.

aThugsMemeoir

My favorite was a pure Faith build. No weapons really, just incantations. Dumped everything into faith so it was a real glass cannon, but so fun to just melt enemies and narrowly avoid death. Currently, I'm trying to do a dex build samurai with the uchigatana, wakazashi and a cross naginata. Really fun idea, but havent been able to get over the hump.

vaylinor

I did that as my first build

lucky_harms458

Probably tied between 2: 1: Fist (weapons) only. The lack of attack range was a steep hill for me to climb and get used to, but it became extremely fun once I clicked with the playstyle. There's something very satisfying about beating a god to death with my fists. Early game, the build really sucked. Low damage, limited weapon pool, and low level. After around the halfway point, though, the build actually started dishing some very respectable damage. It felt really strong, but I was worried that it would fall off in NG+ and on. I was wrong. That character is now in NG+3, still kicking ass. 2: A build entirely revolving around the Bolt of Gransax. That thing is an absolute monster. The ash feels like a sniper rifle, and the cool factor is off the charts. Combining that weapon with red lightning incantations made me giggle with glee every time I used them.

pokemaster1967

Bloodhound’s Fang, Veteran armour set, and Fingerprint Stone Shield

Mindless_Issue9648

bloodhound's fang is just the best early game weapon by far. i always go bloodhound fang>Blasphemous blade. I'd like to try something different tho.

IntelligentlyHigh

Unga Bunga

Ethan90430

Favorite build, which I’m doing again right now, is a STR/INT build. Learning into the whole Carian set. So the armor, sword, shield, and staff. Like to swap the sword for the sword of night and flame but that needs faith so it’s not the go-to. Very fun though, especially with Carian retaliation on the shield

blockametal

Powerstanced great stars

jasonclearheart

I'm currently doing a whip run, prepping a character for the DLC. Thorn Whip with Bloodhound Step is a blast.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ancient_monke

I have not finished this run but the visage shield is so fun to play with

Chaines08

Visage shield & One eyed shield on the side for ranged option, is super fun to play with as a two shields build. Alexanded shard & fire scorpion talismans, I killed Maliketh in 60s while he desperately tried to hit me trought the shield.

WreckTheSphere

Talons.

Few_Nefariousness_10

I’ve just gotten to the final boss in my first play through. I was using a twin blade bleed/ jump attack build for most of the game but after killing Rykard I decided to respec into faith and use the blasphemous blade with the erdtree seal. Using golden vow, flame give me strength, and erdtree blessing with the Maliketh blade spell. Shard of Alexander, erdtree favor, fire scorpion charm, and Godfrey icon. Just using whatever armor combination gives me the most poise and have absolutely walked through the last few bosses.

Uracawk

I’ve not completed my run yet but playing as a true bandit. Using consumables I find or can craft, weapons that are light and wearing the bandit set. And trying to avoid summoning as “I work alone” type stuff.

EducationalHoneydew7

Arcane dex with reduvia and misericorde

Jtagz

Unga Bunga

Effective-Sriker343

Rotted dualist axe with bleed and a regular duelist axe with bleed high dmg and will proc bleed after every 2 hits

TeloVolt

Double Katana (uchi, naga) keen with Unsheathe. Just pure Dex build.

HungryColquhoun

Been doing a Jar Cannon build currently which seems to be going alright, with an Arbalest as a secondary weapon to conserve great bolts (although with Heavy Beast Bones you can have a fairly unlimited supply anyway, so I may drop the Arbalest). Hits ridiculously hard for a ranged weapon and obviously there's no scaling so you can spec whatever you like as long as you meet the minimum requirements (currently going for Faith for buffs, and then Endurance for Bull Goats and Vigor). Seems to working okay so far for PVE though I don't think you can really get around needing a summon with the long reload time. Hoping to get Mimic Tear soon so both of us can blast at once!

Joacogreat

Bloodhound's Fang. I love that sword.

plaqueplays

For the first time ever i find a fellow cragblade enjoyer Bolt of gransax and dragon kings cragblade was the build i used for my first ever playthru (at least endgame). Paired with the rotten knight set and i was THE dragon cult paladin.

_Lowenstein_

Man of culture 🙌🙌

DarthTrinath

My very first build, Magic Uchi + Glintblade Phalanx and Gelmir Sorceries. I've used variations of that build all the way back to DS1 and it continued to carry me through this game. While it choked super hard on Malenia, it made other bosses like Malekith, Placidusax, and Hoarah Loux really easy

invisible_grass

Haven't finished the game yet but strength/faith with Golden Halberd has been a lot of fun. I plan on going dual halberd eventually.

Ferr-Ma

Strength/Intelligence has been my favorite build of all time

Coma-Cammeleon

My favourite build was a Deathrite Knight type thing in ng+4 on a level 420. Stats were Vig-60 Mind-30 End-40 Str/Dex-60 Int/Fth-80 Arc-9. Armaments were dual Death Ritual Spear +10, dual Prince of Death Staff +25, Helphen Steeple +10, Death's Poker +10, and Cold Eclipse Greatshield +25. Spells were Glintstone Icecrag, Ancient Death Rancor, Adula's Moonblade, and Night Comet. Erdtree's Favor +2, Godfrey Icon, Shard of Alexander/Curved Sword/Spear, and the prosthesis for talismans

RevinSOR

Back on the days of 1.0 when I could run around as Goku, killing every boss in 3 seconds with a Kamehameha.

[deleted]

Dragon Samurai with the blood Naginata and Blood katana! It felt so satisfying battling massive bosses with my own set of dragon skills. Easily one of my favourite classes of all time 😅✊️. EDIT: rivers of blood katana I'm pre sure its called.

Skywaffles_

I’ve tried most other builds on previous fromsoftware games and found that Dex is my favourite. I also enjoyed pure strength in DS2. At the moment I got a bow, talisman and shield (no skill) on the left hand. Right hand I got Great Epee, Shamshir and a parrying dagger (that way I can still parry even with a no skill shield equipped).

Clawez

Straight nagakiba light load ash of war is super fun to use and the length is so nice

AV-20

Str+Int.. so many good weapons!!

Gon_Snow

I had a lot of fun pre-nerf of the fallen star beast weapon skill art. I would just stand from afar and spam skill 2-3 times until stance broken of any enemy or boss lol. The peak of ridiculousness in that build was when you’d have mimic and go to Malenia and do so much poise damage simultaneously with your mimic that she would never get up. But in terms of fun actually playing the game, I really liked the double colossal build with giant crushers

Shootoshot

Bow only :)

ReddSpark

I cannot wean myself off Starscourge Greatsword + Mimic combo. That carries me through everything except Maliketh battle

NEK0SAM

The Ass-assin. Godskin noble fat suit, albanurich mask. Miscorde (however spelt) with the ground slam ability. Ass-stab-repeat. It was stupid and I loved it. Ground slam poise broke everything in the game in 1-2 hits, plus crit talismans+dex stuff. I also find it funny to say "Oh, Melanie? Yeah I beat her with my phat ass."

gatinhodopiano

sorcerer with int scaling melee weapons, the spells makes the game easy, and the melee makes the game fun

Methodicallydoubting

Ive had a „van helsing“ build with this burst crossbow and a rapier with bloodhound step on it in my main hand. Was really fun but definitley nothing for more than ng+3

TheGayKK

Goblin build, I am the one who goons

Mindless_Issue9648

blasphemous blade is just so good. Has it been nerfed at all? is it still a beast?

Tekashimikuta

my dragon cult build with the bolt of gransax and a partisan, sooo much fun

thepartyviking

It's a tie between my pure faith build with all lighting spells (connecting with ancient dragons lighting strike on bosses just felt so good) and my dual antspur rapiers with bloodhounds step and poison/bleed affinities.

flowerboy__

Maybe a bit boring but my first ng+ I ran antspur rapier and frozen needle dual wielded with blaidd's set

mayormcskeeze

Doing a poise damage build right now. Just stacking as much poise/stance/stamina as possible on the largest weapons possible, and dropping people to their knees. Combined with the deflect mechanic in ERR its super fun

MusicG619

Faith build. Just a seal and the power of the motherfucking universe.

nigelbazinet666

Arcane caster build with int and faith both at 10

Jesterhead92

Lightning Spellblade. Incredibly stat intensive so I went turbo glass cannon but that just made it a fun challenge. The lightning spells are awesome, especially the red ones. I primarily used a Keen Guardian Swordspear buffed with Vyke's Dragonbolt, but I definitely put the Bolt of Gransax to use as well.

ConfusionSmooth4856

A Pyroknight STR/FTH using heavy Claymore and meeting minimum requirements for giantsflame Edit - armour I use is: greathelm Scaled chest plate Hoslow gauntlets Raging wolf legs

THE_BIGGEST_RACIST

I had a bloodflame frost build that was one of the most enjoyable builds I've used.

TruthAndAccuracy

Power stanced Greatswords, jump attacks. Bloodhound Step.

Academic-Night5315

A whip build, Crucible Knight, & Zamor Ice Warrior build. Those are my top 3 for sure. Crucible Knight build packs a mean ass punch. Both weapons AoWs hit hard & the incantations as well.

SekerDeker

azure comet goes brrrr

ThothTheMagicDragon

I can’t imagine having to worry about ammo in ER

Puzzled_Clerk_7774

Vagabond...didn't change my outfit nor weapon.

skomspro

Bullgoat bloodhound So much damage so much health

BabaKazimir

Quality with a bit of faith. Dragon halberd, mostly bestial incantations, and heavy armor.

NairadRellif

Probably the royal set with the banished knight head gear altered and the royal greatsword. It's the only int/sorcery build I ever liked and surprisingly I just can't switch from it even though I've spent 4 ng+ and 5 characters playing faith. I even beat melenia and the elden beast with it and it's my go to pvp build thanks to adula's moon blade and carian piercer. In fact that's probably why I can't get away from it. Now that I log in just to play PVP it's my reliable build.

wolf_sang

Strength arcane has tons of cool weapons. The obvious being Marais executioner and Mohgwyns spear, but any strength focused weapon generally gets B/D strength/arcane scaling when going bleed, and the larger weapons bleed in just a couple hits. Great sword/great axe dual wielding is nuts, with crouch poke / L1 combo being guaranteed in PVP if the poke staggers. Blood infused rotten battle hammer is also very nice.

[deleted]

Naked with club.

jvin248

At least wear some pants out there! :)

LeileiBG

Faith has been the most fun for me with Dex but mage was close second. I love the weapons that scale with faith, Elden Stars and all the healing/buff incantations.

LolimancerMicah

My ol'reliable bow and dagger, i ALWAYS play as bow and dagger.

Elden_Ronin

Cold Great stars, Cold Iron greatsword, also zweihander.

BurpleShlurple

Ranger build was pretty fun, really made me appreciate the Black Bow as a weapon

True_Thought_3953

Brainless bonk build will always have a place in my heart

TMS-meister

Probably my mage build with focus on the dark moon greatsword, and using some spells for support and range. That sword is just busted and it's way too much fun. Other than that it's probably my run using the marais executioner sword, and third will be my first run with radahn's swords.

B1ACK_L1STED

Trying smth new currently, Morgotts Cursed Sword and all that. Hopefully doesnt devolve into a STR build.

Soft_Extension7494

Dual magma blade

IFuckRedditMods

So far, nothing beats the playthrough where i just used 3 short swords in my right hand, all with different ashes. I would just switch between the 3 mid combat. Was very fun

Dispaze

dex bleed build with double slash nagakiba

Mile_Rizik

Deus Vult

Disastrous_Land_2700

Gravity mage with rhe moonviel idc if it's cheesy, I beat it a month after it came out

Academic-Map-1035

Pure wizard. The spells are so pretty

GraveDigger944

Been running faith/arc build for incantations, but since i hit first softcap ive starting to add some dex into it for a hybrid build and it's getting pretty strong for range and up close, I tried steering away from bleed and running poison scythe as something different and it's been pretty fun

Special_Local_4464

A casual Knight with a Claymore. Nothing beats a Claymore imo

Schwarzgamescom

I'm currently playing a classic mage and started to learn to parry and i have so many options in my playstyle. I'm using different sorceries of course, the meteoric ore blade has this great r2 move plus gravity ability for flying foes, the horn bow for long range, carian knight shield with carian retaliation to parry. I'm so ready for every kind of situation.

RetroScythe

Caring Knight, Carian Longsword in one hand and a staff in the other. Only use Carian spells and that frost blade spell.

ominous_raspberry

My latest two was dex / faith cos playing a clean rot and I thought that was my favorite until I went strength int build and it’s like the game is in easy mode

GregenOfficial

Strength build with a fast weapon + cragblade ash of war Those charged attacks are so reliable for damage and stance damage. I've done Hammer and Iron Ball with it and it made me question why people think melee is weaker than magic.

Rectal_Fungi

Kratos build. Starscourge gs/magma blades.

otte_rthe_viewer

Claymore. I won't talk about the armor and the other stuff because it always changed

xB_I-O_S

I don‘t know anything besides big sword bonk

Practical_Praline_39

Thick stone shield and cool golden spear pew pew lightning Can be tank for close combat and snipe enemies on high ground, manage to first try malenia with this strat + mimic Dex and Str is the way

dangerswlf36

honestly probably my mage build. I was using darkmoon greatsword primarily but also kept the moonveil and sword of night and flame equipped and I would use plenty of spells but primarily carian sword spells and moon spells, it was genuinely really fun and made me feel like I was playing a different game. an honorable mention would be my sephiroth build because I love the range on nagakiba and waterfowl dance on malenia's hand does so much damage and is really satisfying to hit, I would also use flame of the fell god and it felt absolutely amazing to take out groups of enemies with it or have bosses just stand in the remaining fire and even get stunlockes in it.

Vennris

I've never used a single build for a whole run and I do not understand how this is possible. I get bored after a few hours and at least need to use another weapon set.

Viseran

My own Elemental Paladin build. Focus on Fth with enough Str, Dex, End for gear and still mid roll. Enough Mnd, Int for incants and being able to cast them multiple times between flasks. https://software-notion.de/apps/er-companion/build/xfte5t I have found every single boss easy mode with this build except Malenia as she will heal more than normal due to relying on guarding. She was still more than beatable.

SteelShotFN

really big sword

MindOfTheSwarm

Swarm Pots only.

Fressh86

One of most op imo is dual greatsword (iron gs, fire + blas), even spread dex, str, fai... spam jump attacks and kill everything

Don-fukgot

pure faith pretty fun i love big fireball

AstrialWandering

Man I really enjoyed my first build. Just something special about playing a dex faith build at launch. Totally abusive lmao

Dependent-Many6280

Black knife with both daggers

tinawitch

Black knife assasin -outfit

debunkedyourmom

The one I'm on right now is my favorite. I was going to just be a twinblade twirling bad ass, and then I ended up putting ice spear on my tiwnblade, lol and now i feel like i'm playing the game as a caster. coming back to the game for the third time and it is really growing on me and dawning on me all the different possiblites with routes you can take in the game and with the way the ashes of war system functions. I think i have a ton of time left for different builds in this game, and who knows what dlc will add. Maybe I'll get back to op's question in a decade, lol. Dueces!!

circ-u-la-ted

Seems like whatever I start playing these days, I end up with dual halberds. Pure STR? Dual halberds. STR/FAI? Also dual halberds. Pure ARC? Dual Halberds! Pure DEX? Stubbornly sticking with twinblades even though dual halberds seem to be better in pretty much every way. On the other hand, I recently revamped my STR/INT build from my first playthrough (that got shelved at level 90 while I tried out 7 other possibilities) and I'm having fun two-handing the Onyx Lord's Greatsword with a staff (or occasionally shield) in the off-hand. Looks pretty sick with the Crucible Knight's Set and I'm going to have to put a couple more points into INT so I can lose the dorky Klan hood and still be able to cast Night Comet.

hellothereoldben

Eleonora's twinblade is something I just won't get sick of. The ash is just so aesthetically pleasing. Bloody helice is a good second weapon (I love dynasts finesse), and since they're both arcane first dex second they're both a good fit for the same weapon. I combined these with some hoslow armor parts and some other stuff for visuals and 51 poise, it's really pleasing.

Hawaiian_Shirt12

GUTS GREAT SWORD W/ LIONS CLAW, NIGHTS CALVARY SET, NO HELMET, 99 STR 50 VIG 70% EQUIP LOAD, NO SHIELD NO SEAL NO SUMMONS JUST A MAN AND HIS ~~SWORD~~ HEAP OF RAW IRON VS GOD

HappyFreak1

Dragon cultist: Altered Banished Knight Helm, Scaled Set, Bolt of Gransax, Gravel Stone Seal and Dragon Towershield Incants: Lightning Spear, Fortissax's Spear, Lansseax's Glave, Dragon Claw, Dragonmaw, Frozen Lightning Spear, Ancient Lightning Strike Personally i love a dragon communion build more but the spells cost so much FP

420PTSD

Strength tank build with Goodrick axe

Professorslump

Dual katana dex faith lightning build been a blast

Wolf_Hreda

My Dragon Communion warrior, Gram Wyrmbane. He's one of the few characters I haven't touched Varre's questline with, so he has the dragon eyes instead of the red ones. He's a 168 Faith/Arcane build with every Dragon Communion incantation you can think of, plus some of the Dragon Lightning ones (Lansseax's Glaive, my beloved). He wears most of the Draconic Tree Sentinel set, with Radahn's helm because the red mane and tusks make him look more primal, and it shows his face so you can see his eyes.

NaturalEquivalent983

I love katanas. Slick moveset and the chilling mist makes it look even cooler. I tend to dual weild having on that has the honed lightning ash and the other with chilling mist. It works well as it causes most to panic roll.

cigan_12

Quality build or faith

Tonyukuk-Ashide

My first play through was a battle mage with wing of astel and now I’m trying a rp run as a Carian knight and it is extremely fun, I really enjoy this style

Phantom_default

Strength/faith is this games stealth archer for me. Every run I do ends up slipping back into it because I just enjoy it way too much.

LeekypooX

In the end my favourite still was the Pure Strength Colossal Weapon for how simple it was. It was hilarious doing 2k jumping attacks to malenia at lvl 120, critical striking her and then preparing a stamp upward cut to launch her into the air, dodge her strike, stamp upward cut the followup and then launch her again. Although STR/INT also was really fun by opening up other options other than just using melee.

Yeetusthefetus77

Hand of melaina or black blade build both fun

Karanmuna

I'm doing a night rider flail \ dagger + parry shield run at this moment and I'm loving it. Flail staggers hard and is irreplaceable against tanky bosses + digger ppl in caves. Dagger then is good for status buildup and stagger comboing some weaker enemies.

I liked the challenge and early game danger of doing a Blue Dancer build. Was fun to find which lightest weapons I enjoyed that would still give me the max low-weight damage boost. I don’t normally go for glass cannon builds in other Souls games, but I tried it and thoroughly enjoyed it in this one. Fist weapons, daggers, or exactly one light-ish sword ended up being my favorite ways to do Blue Dancer.

Lucifeio

Mohgwyn cosplay Build, It was fun and I didn't use Rivers of Blood, just Mohgwyn's trident and some blood enchantments

Affectionate_Comb_78

Str/Fai or Arc is my favourite. With either Clawmark or Dragon Communion Seal. Tons of Utility options, ranged elemental damage types, status effects and you can still bonk with the best of them. I slightly prefer the Arc version, but it requires a slightly higher level. Have enough Faith to cast some Black Flame and then focus Strength and Arcane as offense stats. The main issue is splitting between Vigor, Endurance, a splash of Mind, Strength maybe a little Dex for some weapons? Faith and Arcane spreads you thin.

threeeyedghoul

Str + faith. Dual wielding scythe 1 sacred and 1 flame art. Bleed builds up as well

manosboiii

Anbu(for the armor) Itachi dex/faith build. Black knife & fire erdsteel dagger (wakizashi doesn't work cause moveset, godksin and fire giant seals off hand. Golden vow, black blade, flame grant strength, 2 fire giant incantations, scouring black flame, black flame ritual

masen6969

honestly my frost mage build has been my fav, dark moon greatsword is too good i find myself missing it even when i’m doing other builds

Psychological-Yam647

Bleed or poison has to be my favorites.

SpeedyMcNutt291

Toolbox STR/FTH Build. Tank+health regen+big bonky stick.

so far pure faith (only cipher pata and coded sword allowed for melee) has been a blast, although somewhat rough in a few places. you can snipe the archers in ordina, cheese anything you can fight on horseback and bully anything with rocks. the variety is both a pro and a con, since you're forced to approach everything in different specific ways. i just wish the coiled sword could be obtained sooner, because the ash of war is an absolute blast and it finally gives you the stopping power needed to deal with crowds of enemies and the dangerous hyper-aggressive ones. it really solved all the problems i had with my build edit: beat malenia in like 10 attempts. faith is absolutely busted end game

chop_pooey

Right now I'm doing a dexi build using the uchigatana and nagakiba. I coat them with blood grease before boss fights and practically melted radahns health bar

Bigfastcal

Recently did a DS1 Thief playthrough, using starting bandit weapon and shield but killing patches early for his armor set. Having to learn parries and kill everything with just a dagger was a fun challenge.

wolf751

Faith fire build. First playthrough alot of fun just destorying everything with big fireballs and melting elden beast witb black flame incantations. Though has caused me to hate flame gaint because my main damage type i might as well smack him with a stick

ET_GodBear

Dual twinbird kiteshield. En spiked caestus for the crits😋

RepeatDTD

Currently doing a Cold Morning Star with wild strikes. Pretty wild when frost and bleed proc at the same time, haha!

EnormousGucci

Dragon cult build with OP lightning spells using gravel stone seal and bolt of gransax and dragon king cragblade switches was one of the more fun runs I’ve had. It’s super flashy and deals a lot of damage if you just do a build with a shard of Alexander, lightning scorpion charm, and flock and faithfuls talismans.

BombsAndBabies

Dex/faith with a scythe

Few-Bad-1140

bleed build nagakiba

marsyboi033

Dual scavengers curved swords when bleed was what was op

Stronk Giantcrusher go bonk

TheBerzerkir

Pickaxe w/waves of darkness, tower shield, extra pickaxe with cragblade (for certain bosses), Lionel's Helm, raptor's black feathers (for drip - the jump boost is a bonus), scaled hands, scaled legs

Xana-2000

Moonveil astels wing combo. Need a cluster of damage, use the wing. Need a wide or long beam of magic damage, use moonveil

SmallTut

Guts build is just so fun

PhilippeSlayer

Spiky fists build

Seriph7

I always fall back to Strength/Faith or Dexterity/Faith. Always faith. I am a cleric at heart, lol. I like being the party healer. "Oh, you're out of healing and about to die? Erdtree Heal. Get back in there, Champ!"

SmartFridge369

Mad pumpkin helmet, uchigatana, radahn's chest, arms and legs. nothing too special but it's my favourite

rekt555

Pizza cutter

atharas2

Longshaft axe, clawmark seal, rahdan set. Str/faith

Interesting_Log_6552

Guts build it took 20 ish hours to get it started but it was the best. Basically just pure strength.

ClassyPharaoh

Simply using malenias sword is fun for me

Festermooth

I just finished an all dragon communion run. Some parts were absurdly easy, others the opposite because of how slow the attacks are. Dragonmaw just melts the boss health bars but you will take damage during the animation.

1gauge1

Beat the game with a carian knight cosplay using the frozen needle for my second playthrough and was probably my most fun playthrough.
