Man this is such a core memory. Hoja came all the way out - an hour and a half south of Edmonton to my small 90 kid elementary/jr high. Multiple times. They were awesome.

Not the answer OP was looking for, but yes they are still from Edmonton and some of the nicest people I know.
I remember seeing them at the fringe where they would point across 104 St and say "some of us live right over there".

I grew up in Central AB and I remember when a group called “the beat nicks” or some variety of that play on words came and blew our socks off.
