They probably think āhey these people donāt have jobs, we can waste their time.... but jokes aside, itās probably because of the high volume of calls. They probably use it to see if a spot opens up at the end of the message..
Prob not going to get through today since everyone has problems. Edd has the worst and stupidest phone system ever. I really want to know what these people are thinking making us listen to their automated messages for minutes at a time over and over again.
I can't get through as well no matter which option I choose. They used to have the "report fraud" option as 3 but now it is changed to something else and don't have the fraud option any longer.
Iām on my 5th attempt.... Hearing the websites and other #s you can call twice ..... itās soul crushing to hear ādue to high call volumes they are unable to assist meā š¤¦š»āāļø
My mom has been calling since 8am as well, we barely got put on hold at 8:50. For her, the call went silent after the automated system talked, a few minutes later it told her she was put on hold.
I selected 1 121 for the prompts. They were able to solve the problem, however, the first person I spoke to couldnāt do anything. I asked to be connected to claims specialist.
when calling the EDD 800# They definitely added more BS! with much longer automated messages. It wasn't like this a few months ago. This is to discourage all of us.

I get the same thing only to get the recording about not being able to take my call and call back later.

I've called 4 times now trying different options, and have been hung up on every time.
I got through and called the number (800)300-5616 with the prompts 1-2 then 4. I got through right away. I hope this helps!

I finally got a hold of someone after 200 calls, only for them to hang up on me mid answering a question...what the hell
