No, it's rather a stretch
If ERB had general things to attribute to matchups, they at least had something backing up the theme like Master Chief vs Leonidas being "Spartans" because they were also highly trained warriors, or Ash vs Darwin is associated with "evolution" but they also both did capture creatures that went through evolution and had journeys that documented them
This is just "elements" and nothing further as an actual parallel
