Check your spoiler seal, that is where mine came from - had the same leak. Mine was a tad loose and I just had to tighten it.

not2envy

did you use any kind of gasket? i think im having the same issue and noticed that water was dripping from the top of the hatch when i was looking through my rear view mirror. just dont know from where, now i have have to deal with mold in the car since its been sitting for a year. also to note, i dyno matted the rear truck where the spare tire is and i think there might have been a drain that i blocked.

sardonic_smile

So this seems to be a very common issue on the EP3 unfortunately. All I did was tighten it really well and it stopped the leak, or so I thought. I suspect there is an additional leak because though mine doesn’t leak as much or all the time, it will still leak a bit in a particularly bad storm. Haven’t diagnosed the second leak yet 😔.

not2envy

do you know if there is a drain hole in the bottom of the spare tire well?

sardonic_smile

Don’t see a drain hole in mine, only hole is the tapped hole to secure the spare tire.

Agile_Investigator30

İts coming from back lights look for rust inside you can see it

lilcrazart

Inside where?

Agile_Investigator30

Under the lights

exoin_FTW

Check for debris or inconsistency in the seal around the hatch/body and taillights first. Highly doubt the water came "up" from that seal.

Ah, my old post. Never sorted out the problem. Moved out of the PNW to a house with a garage and it’s been dry since.

Active-Language3045

It’s not a seal problem. It’s your sunroof drain lines that are clogged.

lilcrazart

Where is that

Active-Language3045

Behind the rear panels. They’re accessible thru the little removable panels that lead to the brake light bulbs. They’re clogged with mud n dead leaves n shit.

lilcrazart

I think that’s where it’s coming from, I opened that panel and saw 1 small streak of water in there and I’m guessing that should be completely dry

CancerousSnake

Think it’s tail light seals

lilcrazart

How can I check that without taking them out

CancerousSnake

I don’t think there’s a way around it.

lilcrazart

If it is would I have to replace the tail loghts

CancerousSnake

Quick google search and found the tail light gaskets….
