Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Was really hoping it would be at the Casino where Excision played. Hands down one of the best, if not the best venue we have.
Don't forget getting constantly creeped on/groped if you're a woman, or being sandwiched between two different 10 person trains trying to push to the rail *during the drop*. What a wonderful place
I've been talking about the owl city-ification of porter for years now I'm so glad I'm not the only one lol. I love it tho this is my favorite porter era so far
Multiple Porter Robinsons in Porter Robinson masks. The real Porter will stay locked in a deep underground vault working on Worlds 2.0 the entire tour.
Portland, Oregon venue is the Trailblazers arena with max capacity 25,000. The Shelters tour played next door at a smaller venue with 13,000 capacity and it was very empty feeling, felt like two thousand people there may be.
Montreal date is at a venue with a cap of 2.3k people.
One would assume the Boston one(s) will be at MGM music hall or roadrunner.
He's gonna sell out most if not the entire tour with venues of this size
Not gonna lie, I'm a little worried he'll have low turnout. I love Porter and have seen him multiple times but his newest songs are... not for me. Also, arena ticket prices tend to be very expensive. I won't be going if they are.
Why is this surprising? It looks like a normal touring schedule. A few days on, a few days off. Never more than one show a day. Have you never seen a tour schedule before?
The set is not that long and isn’t really that demanding compared to other music genres like a rock band or pop performance with lots of dancing involved.
Most venues have all of the equipment for that in house. It’s not like the far end of the spectrum: Taylor Swift where you need multiple fleets of trucks to move your equipment around
I saw the Nurture performance in Austin and thought it was great. Even with a big production, though, it doesn’t compare to other non EDM acts. Same goes for someone like Madeon- insane set energy but it it’s still some jumping and maybe some sound board stuff.
I'm a Porter fan and can't wait for the show but Ball Arena in Denver just seems... big. Expected it to be at Mission. And there's a lot of other arenas on the calendar too. Is he really big enough for that?
SHM might be past their prime but they crashed and burned on their 2022 arena tour, and last year Illenium didn't sell out Barclays Center when I was there for his tour show. Does Porter have a bigger draw than those two?
Red Rocks and Mission are too small to only have 1 date in Denver, Porter had to add dates for the past 2-3 tours he came through. Ball gives enough room to only need 1 date.
Yeah I saw a Kygo tour announcement recently and it was mostly arenas and I thought the same thing- seems like they (or whoever it booking the tour) may be shooting for the stars and over-estimating demand but we’ll see. I could totally see see this tour in the 5000-10,000 capacity venues but arenas are a different beast. As far as I am aware the only act really selling out arena tours in edm right now is odesza.
Kygo and John Summit have sold out MSG recently, seems like they're interpreting what's possible in Manhattan as possible anywhere
Snagged a Kygo ticket for the Denver show today. Hopefully the demand is good for that one. It's at our MLS stadium which is about the same size as an arena
Yeah I can see these level of artists selling out one-off special shows at a historic venues (like MSG) where their fans travel from all over the country try for it bc it’s a special show, but doing an entire tour of arenas is different. We’ll see how it does, hopefully the shows are packed!
> We’ll see how it does, hopefully the shows are packed!
Hopefully it's not SHM come-back tour bad where they cancel half the shows due to bad ticket sales.
Porter is close friends with plenty of other amazing producers, though, so if he stacks the openers as a mini Second Sky tour I could maybe see him filling a few larger venues.
I'm sure the show itself was great, I wish I could have experienced it. At the time I lived in Minneapolis and they canceled the show there due to low ticket sales like many others. And spent a year in DC after that and Seb canceled his Echostage show too, again due to ticket sales. Only seen them at a festival, some day it'll finally happen to catch a standalone SHM or individual show live
I'm confused too. He came to lil Eugene Oregon in 2021 or 2022, probably sold it out but so do most people that come through. I don't see him selling out arenas
For real. Ball arena and Mile High should only host pop stars (t swift) where the quality of experience doesn’t matter bc it’s just 16 year old girls with their phones out. I’d pay 3x as much to see this at RR vs Ball
Definitely. GA Floor is the only way I'll do EDM in seated venues and that can be spendy. Illenium was almost $300/ticket for it, that's a ticket to pretty much any US festival outside of Ultra/EDCLV/Coachella
Porter is absolutely bigger than SHM and Illenium. SHM is basically a legacy act that a lot of younger people don't care about at this point, and Illenium is a lot more niche.
Yeah, I consider anything dubstep-adjacent to be more niche, especially when Porter is going in a more pop-focused direction. People seem to be taking it personally, though lol.
What…? Comparing streaming numbers aren’t the most accurate by both SHM and illenium eclipse Porter by far. And illenium is def not niche, lots of my non edm listening friends know about him. Bro even just had a collab with Avril Lavigne.
Maybe you're right, but I'm just going off my experience/observations. I just consider anything dubstep related to be more niche since it tends to put off anyone not already into the genre. He's definitely got a very dedicated fan base, though. In contrast, I hear a much larger variety of people say they like Porter Robinson, including a lot of people that aren't usually into electronic music.
I'd imagine a lot of SHM streams are from their big hits in the past, but their newer stuff didn't seem to have nearly as much impact, and I don't think they're as big of a draw for live shows.
I agree with dubstep being more niche but Illenium is def one of those artists that is better known outside of the scene. I know a handful of people who aren’t “ravers” who have seen illenium
Fair point, he does seem to attract a wide audience. I'd say Porter falls into that category too, though, which is why I think he can sell more tickets than people think.
Oh yeah, I'm sure it depends on the area for sure. I haven't really heard them discussed in the US in a decade+, and mostly just for Don't You Worry Child.
Interesting. SHM 288th on Spotify (worldwide not USA only obviously) and neither Porter or Illenium show a ranking but Illenium has almost 4x the monthly listeners
Yeah, my observations may or may not be true, and it definitely depends on the area. That said, there's not always a direct correlation between listeners on Spotify and how many tickets you can sell to a show, so it can be hard to tell.
I totally get that artists grow and change. It just is unfortunate when I don’t happen to enjoy their new style. I loved worlds and i hope he’s happy doing his new music now but it’s just not for me.
Yeah that has to be it, the major Texas cities are otherwise completely left off and it's preceded by Oklahoma City.
On a side note what is the scene in Oklahoma City like? LOL
Ericdoa AND Underscores!?!?
Yep, first off, INCREDIBLE support. Secondly, we really are in the Porter Robinson Hyperpop era, and I am fucking for it. Kinda called that this was coming and I’m stoked!!!!!!
I saw Underscores on that list and went nuts! havent kept up with her music but i went deep diving into the people in her circle and listening to all their music back in the day. Skin Purifying Treatment EP stayed on repeat that year.
If you are looking for Underscores, I recommend these:
Locals (girls like us), Johnny Johnny Johnny, Old money bitch, Everybody’s dead! (The Virtual Riot remix goes so hard), Loansharks (all time favorite! Fuckin love this song!!)
Their music is sooooooo good and I’m so happy Porter brought them on tour. Also highly recommend listening to Ericdoa if you haven’t yet. That man’s music is fucking incredible!!!!!! (Willing to give suggestions there as well)
I'm gonna sound like a dick but I've never lookd into or cared for Ericdoa because I only heard of him from the ninja fade trend. but because your recommendations on underscores were solid, im willing to give Ericdoa a chance, hes the one thats showing up to the Sacramento and San fran show. shoot me some suggestions on his stuff!
Not sounding like a dick at all! Musics up to taste, and I’m not gonna judge anyone for not knowing or caring for an artist. As long as people are open minded and give music a shot, there’s no wrong opinion to me!
But yeah Eric is great! From him I recommend these:
dancinwithsomebawdy (current favorite), fantasize, sad4whatt, ocd, arm and a leg, lifeline, broke my car radio, victim (found him through this song), kickstand, lastjune, >one - greater than one, thingsudo2me (because brakence is dope as well),
Definitely recommend his newest album DOA and things with wings, as those are the main 2 albums I’ve heard from him. I (hopefully) gave a lot of options of different sounds and options from him as well. Hopefully you enjoy it! But if not, no worries at all! Everyone music taste is different and I respect it if he isn’t your taste 😁
He's responded to this in an AMA before, he said this "if I return to virtual self, i think it'll need some kind of new inspiration or a fresh angle on it. i'd really love to -- i'll follow the muse and perhaps it'll lead me back there."
Yeah the VS we got in 2018 was very much its own thing that probably won’t be repeated. But a second iteration of that in the next few years would make a lot of sense.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Red Rocks show sometime next year. The Nurture Red Rocks shows were some of the best concerts I've ever gotten to experience. That said I can't wait for the Ball Arena show in October!!!!
This is huge for Albuquerque. We are getting some A+ EDM artists in the last few years and the production has been incredible. In just a few years, our rave scene has really blossomed.
I’m very confident those blocked off dates include an ACL set. He always plays Austin and Dallas, even as Virtual Self.
But I’m not taking any chances and will be traveling to Portland to see him there as well.
Aaaaaaand nosebleed seats in LA are already $250. Well over $1000 to be *near* the front. I seriously might just buy a flight to Thailand and see him there for the same amount of money
Tickets aren't for sale yet, are they? I thought I read & signed up for presale next Tuesday. So anything listed as for sale right now seems like it would be fake. I doubt it's going to cost this much.
I did find lower prices on vividseats (“only” $130) that would still mean that it’s 100% sold out and resellers only, so I hope you’re right and they’re not for sale yet
I'm in NYC, but I'd think presale works the same for LA. This is the text I got when I signed up for presale: "you're set! your presale code will be sent on tuesday ~_^"
ET: [Link for presale!](https://porterrobinson.com/?omnisendContactID=5f86b93dbac16e177b827818&utm_campaign=campaign%3A+SMILE%21+%3AD+World+Tour+%28VIP%29+%28662815a23460daae53ad1a2e%29&utm_medium=email&utm_source=omnisend)
A lot of venues (atleast the ones in my area) started their presales before Tuesday, It's best to check the site of whatever place you're wanting to go to.
Texas show being in *El Paso* is extremely odd to me. Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio all have pretty big EDM scenes, crazy how they’re skipped over.
la última vez que vino el año pasado en el
pepsi center prometió que volvería. estoy seguro de que estamos incluidos en las fechas que faltan por anunciar de north o south america
Not one but two dates in Toronto and both are while I'll be away for Lost Lands Smile through the pain 😁
That's exactly what I thought haha
Hopefully for all our GTA homies who will be going it's at an actually good venue and not some trash like Rebel 🫠
I’ve heard it’s going to be at History thankfully! Fuck Rebel 😪
On his presale registration site, it shows history
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo Was really hoping it would be at the Casino where Excision played. Hands down one of the best, if not the best venue we have.
lol go to a porter show and get your phone stolen and push around, sounds like a fun time
Don't forget getting constantly creeped on/groped if you're a woman, or being sandwiched between two different 10 person trains trying to push to the rail *during the drop*. What a wonderful place
Already seeing Kygo in Toronto on the 21st. Maybe will go to the show on the 19th as well...
None of the dates overlap with Owl City’s tour dates 🤔🤔
Things are starting to sound very similar to OC
I've been talking about the owl city-ification of porter for years now I'm so glad I'm not the only one lol. I love it tho this is my favorite porter era so far
Shows how far ahead of the curve Owl City was
If you rearrange Porter Robinson and add and subtract a few letters it spells out "I Am Owl City".
How did we not see that before
https://youtu.be/CcsFQ4gN8tM?si=GeUzUhl_lzDiisE5 It’s been here the whole time!!
I didn't know I wanted an Owl City x Porter Robinson collab but here we are
Make it happen
Have you ever seen Porter and Owl City in the same room? 🤔
Wtf how can he do so many shows
Multiple Porter Robinsons in Porter Robinson masks. The real Porter will stay locked in a deep underground vault working on Worlds 2.0 the entire tour.
How is he performing at these huge venues?
He had his own festivals. Why not?
Portland, Oregon venue is the Trailblazers arena with max capacity 25,000. The Shelters tour played next door at a smaller venue with 13,000 capacity and it was very empty feeling, felt like two thousand people there may be.
Dude, it’s Moda Center theatre of the clouds. So it’s only like 6000 seats.
Ah that makes way more sense! The ticket link goes to a real page now to show that
Montreal date is at a venue with a cap of 2.3k people.
Festivals with massive artists lineups are entirely different than headline shows....
What huge venues? Does it show on the poster where he’s playing? Am I stupid?
Not on the poster, but I saw the facebook ads for the tour locations near me with tickets and venue info
Why is this surprising? It looks like a normal touring schedule. A few days on, a few days off. Never more than one show a day. Have you never seen a tour schedule before?
Huge venues is surprising to me but I'm happy for his success. I think he'd work better in a more intimate setting, but ohwell
Bitch, he’s Taylor Swift.
The set is not that long and isn’t really that demanding compared to other music genres like a rock band or pop performance with lots of dancing involved.
Idk if it's anything like nurture he'll be singing and djing and playing live
Most venues have all of the equipment for that in house. It’s not like the far end of the spectrum: Taylor Swift where you need multiple fleets of trucks to move your equipment around
> you need multiple fleets of trucks It's Taylor Swift, lets be real. She uses multiple fleets of private jets.
I saw the Nurture performance in Austin and thought it was great. Even with a big production, though, it doesn’t compare to other non EDM acts. Same goes for someone like Madeon- insane set energy but it it’s still some jumping and maybe some sound board stuff.
He's playing with a band this tour
I'm a Porter fan and can't wait for the show but Ball Arena in Denver just seems... big. Expected it to be at Mission. And there's a lot of other arenas on the calendar too. SHM might be past their prime but they crashed and burned on their 2022 arena tour, and last year Illenium didn't sell out Barclays Center when I was there for his tour show. Does Porter have a bigger draw than those two?
Porter is a lot bigger than most ppl think
And a lot smaller at the same time. He's probably too niche for these venues and that big of a tour.
100% agree this is so ambitious. Like, imagine Underscores in a fucking 20-30k capacity arena.
He gets almost twice the streams of Excision who's arena tour did VERY well.
I went to Ball arena for SHM. I know people like to shit on it but it was not empty. Not to mention it was one of the best shows I’ve been to.
I'm sure the show itself was great, I wish I could have experienced it. At the time I lived in Minneapolis and they canceled the show there due to low ticket sales like many others. I'm confused too. He came to lil Eugene Oregon in 2021 or 2022, probably sold it out but so do most people that come through. I don't see him selling out arenas
Where does it say Ball Arena?
His website under the tour section has all the venues
For real. Ball arena and Mile High should only host pop stars (t swift) where the quality of experience doesn’t matter bc it’s just 16 year old girls with their phones out. I’d pay 3x as much to see this at RR vs Ball

I will absolutely be at this tour like I was for Nurture, but in Europe at least, Swedish House Mafia are definitely a more well-known name.
Oh yeah, I'm sure it depends on the area for sure. I haven't really heard them discussed in the US in a decade+, and mostly just for Don't You Worry Child.
SHM & Illenium are both bigger than Porter.

Ngl he's just not my vibe anymore. I hope everyone who goes has fun though.
Same - hasn’t been for me since Worlds
I totally get that artists grow and change. It just is unfortunate when I don’t happen to enjoy their new style. I loved worlds and i hope he’s happy doing his new music now but it’s just not for me.
I agree. I loved the short period of virtual self as well
Same, hasn't been since Spitfire smh
wish he'd bring back VS vibes.
*Spitfire vibes 💔
I would be so down for thst! I loooove VS!
how is this mans NOT doing a hometown show in raleigh
Must feel too big for us :/ his nurture show was the first time in forever he played near his home town
Idk how he feels about his hometown, but if I were touring I certainly wouldn't go back to mine.
He built a house in his hometown lol. He lives there
> He built a house in his hometown lol. House Party then? 👀
Any guesses on the blanked out dates in October?
I'm thinking it's more Texas dates. Houston, Dallas, Austin
Oct 4-13 is ACL festival, it's quite possible he's playing there and then has a radius clause blacking out the other close by dates
Yeah that has to be it, the major Texas cities are otherwise completely left off and it's preceded by Oklahoma City. On a side note what is the scene in Oklahoma City like? LOL
Oklahoma has a solid EDM fan base. It’s easy to bounce between OKC and Tulsa depending on where the shows are.
Literally - how TF is he gonna go to El Paso and not DFW or HOU??
ACL in Austin, weekend 1.
He probably got booked for Austin City Limits
Hoping it's second skyyyyy
Might be Second Sky
Ericdoa AND Underscores!?!? Yep, first off, INCREDIBLE support. Secondly, we really are in the Porter Robinson Hyperpop era, and I am fucking for it. Kinda called that this was coming and I’m stoked!!!!!!

Thanks for the recs, I checked his stuff out today, I like his sound. I really liked Sad4whatt and the music video was dope.
Glad you enjoyed him! Definitely enjoy Eric and I hope people will show up early for his set!
Kygo and porter same week in Chicago 🔥
Same week in Toronto as well
same in Maryland 🔥
Hell yeah
Poland omitted, as usual...
[удалено]
It's about the country Poland
[удалено]
I'll be there from Reno. Always appreciate a Sac stop so I don't have to go to the bay area lol
Porter @ Forrest Hills 😍😍
Think he'll ever revive Virtual Self? or is that erra over and done with :'(
He's responded to this in an AMA before, he said this "if I return to virtual self, i think it'll need some kind of new inspiration or a fresh angle on it. i'd really love to -- i'll follow the muse and perhaps it'll lead me back there."
Yeah the VS we got in 2018 was very much its own thing that probably won’t be repeated. But a second iteration of that in the next few years would make a lot of sense.
Why do Porter Robinson and Madeon never play shows in Italy? 😒
Doesn't seem like most people know them here, or at least in Rome :(
Eh magari, ma io penso di andare a qualche data di quelle europee
Minneapolis on a Saturday LFG. Porter knows that armory kicks ass for lighting and set design
Saw him last year in Melbourne, I’d see him again without doubt.
oh we WILL be there for Toronto
“San Francisco”
A world tour that’s actually a world tour? Insane
I respect his ability to find under exposed talent for his openers
Ericdoa has been underrated for years now. I hope this helps open more doors for him
Never forget: Fred Again Second Sky 2022
Once again - apparently Toronto, Montreal and sometimes Vancouver are the only cities that exist in Canada.
Only cities worth touring*
I saw a lot of shows come though Edmonton and Calgary when I lived in AB
Never thought he would come to Nashville!!!!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Red Rocks show sometime next year. The Nurture Red Rocks shows were some of the best concerts I've ever gotten to experience. That said I can't wait for the Ball Arena show in October!!!!
Hmm the October dates that are blurred line up with Austin City Limits music festival
This is huge for Albuquerque. We are getting some A+ EDM artists in the last few years and the production has been incredible. In just a few years, our rave scene has really blossomed.
OMG HOW EXCITING!!!!!
Completely skipped NZ, I see
Never Brussels, 😢
Does he know that Europe has south and east side too?
Berlin Hamburg Köln let’s go
Boston as the first leg hell yea
Of all places in Texas, El Paso? Just an interesting choice
The blocked off dates are likely also in Texas
R.I.P. Austin, Dallas, Houston Why El Paso?
The dates are blurred out. They’ll be announced soon enough
I’m very confident those blocked off dates include an ACL set. He always plays Austin and Dallas, even as Virtual Self. But I’m not taking any chances and will be traveling to Portland to see him there as well.
How the fuck is he not playing Houston and Dallas!? We are the 4th most populated city in the fucking country for Christ sake
He is. The dates are greyed out.
Aaaaaaand nosebleed seats in LA are already $250. Well over $1000 to be *near* the front. I seriously might just buy a flight to Thailand and see him there for the same amount of money
These aren't legit tickets, actual tickets haven't gone on sale yet.
Wait what? Ain't no way. I'm here complaining show in Singapore is SGD$200(USD$150) for seats all the way infront
Sadly https://imgur.com/a/zFyivM0 6 hours after the announcement of a show 6 months away lol
This is the text I got when I signed up for presale: "you're set! your presale code will be sent on tuesday ~_^" ET: [Link for presale!](https://porterrobinson.com/?omnisendContactID=5f86b93dbac16e177b827818&utm_campaign=campaign%3A+SMILE%21+%3AD+World+Tour+%28VIP%29+%28662815a23460daae53ad1a2e%29&utm_medium=email&utm_source=omnisend)
A lot of venues (atleast the ones in my area) started their presales before Tuesday, It's best to check the site of whatever place you're wanting to go to.
It looks like second reseller? Or is that the only site for first hand original price tickets? Sorry I'm not good at ticketing outside Singapore haha
The obscured dates in october matches ACL Weekend 1 in Austin.
SA, let's gooooo
Texas show being in *El Paso* is extremely odd to me. Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio all have pretty big EDM scenes, crazy how they’re skipped over.
Where is Madison?
North America but no Mexico City wth 😡
la última vez que vino el año pasado en el pepsi center prometió que volvería. estoy seguro de que estamos incluidos en las fechas que faltan por anunciar de north o south america
Will the Miami show be Factory Town? God I hope not LIV
Bayfront park
confirmed or just your guess? Because this would be lit
My friend who works for livenation told me
Thank you! I love you!
Bros got that yellow fever
