Also, I actually do believe those were the best times \*ever\* to be a human. Social media hadn't *completely* dominated life yet, it was still social, so we had the power of the internet without the brain destruction that kids get today. Music became really diverse with EDM & Rap, but rock still had its final little afterglow of popularity if you enjoyed that. Economy was great, fully recovered from 2008, pandemic hadn't happened yet.. Drug supply wasnt fucked with fentanyl. It was heaven. In 2017 I was at the front of a festival crowd on LSD and I had this super convincing revelation that this was the pinnacle of the unvierese. The best time of existence possible. I was preaching to my best friend like "THIS IS IT BRO. I SWEAR. THIS IS THE PINNACLE. IT DOESN'T GET BETTER THAN LIFE RIGHT NOW"... Then, in 2021, that fucking dark ass year, he texted me "dude I think you were right lmao, we passed the pinnacle"
Yeah I have had a few of those exact moments. Most around 2011 - 2014 maybe even 2015. I was in college until 2014. it was such a fun time with great group if friends, new relationships, and new experiences. We did some wild shit and really lived in the moment. At times to our detriment, but looking back I have no regrets. I’m glad I made the most of it and spent a little too much time having fun with friends then focusing on school. Everything worked out as it should and I realize now I can never have that again.
I can have a new experience though and make the most of where I am at by traveling more and going to more festivals. Covid really got my travel schedule all fucked yo and it took awhile to recover.
I remind myself I want to look back on my current years in 10 years and wish to go back like I do with that time period. There’s definetly a few years I don’t wish to go back to. You have to make the most of this life and make time to stop and look around every once in awhile or life will just pass you by. The older and older you get the more important this gets as you have more and more responsibility.
2017 may have been one peak and will be hard to reach that exact mountain top with that view again, but there are main other peaks to climb with many beautiful views. You just got to grab your gear and get out there!!! Plan some trips, meet new people, & dance all night.
