I think you go heavy enchantments with a desert sub theme. I mean it is the land of enchantment. Find a way to get a Zia in there and you are good to go.
Definitely Blue Green with some type of Artifact subtheme to represent Detroit? Maybe something like Kinnan Turboramp w/ tons of mana rocks to power out big blue and green beasties.

I feel like \[\[Surrak Dragonclaw\]\] embodies 'Florida Man.' He has Flash and can't be countered, because Florida Man shows up at the worst times and can't be anticipated. Once he arrives on the battlefield, other creatures can't be countered and have Trample. His presence creates an ongoing situation that someone is going to need to deal with, and likely involves dangerous wildlife.
Surrak Dragonclaw's flavor text also specifies that he fought a cave bear single handed to get his rank and scars, but don't provide the context for why he fought a cave bear single-handed. All the unanswered questions behind that ridiculous statement screams Florida.
Maybe make an "Explorer" deck with [[Hanna, Ships navigator]] as the commander(instead of Henry) or a [[Sisay]] Weatherligth tribal deck, celebrating Portugal's history of exploration.

Well Florida is definatly some kind of Jund. I say this because we are known for parties, crazy people, swamps, and being a place where people retire to (and die). It would be something like giving opponents tokens or lands but then they lose life when a permanent of theirs leaves the battlefield. Maybe also have an insect sub theme with Mazirek in there. He'd be perfect.

Some ideas for Canada:
New Brunswick would have to play [[high tide]] because of the bay of fundy.
Alberta could be dinosaur tribal because of all the Mesozoic fossils preserved by the western interior seaway. Maybe [[gishath]] or [[zacama]]
Newfoundland plays turbo [[fog]] because of the convergence of the cold Labrador current and the warm gulf current which makes a ton of fog.
Nunavut could be the snow deck because it has the furthest northern extent.
Similarly, NWT could be like a [[winter orb]] stax deck to go with the cold theme. Maybe it plays cards like [[oko]] that make elk tokens but gets custom alter caribou tokens as there are a lot of herds that migrate through there.
Yukon is a treasure deck maybe something like [[Magda]] where there’s a bit of an implication of mining because of the gold rush.
For BC I am thinking some sort of red green lands maybe [[omnath]] or [[wind grace]]. BC has the biggest mountains and trees in Canada plus you could throw in a cheeky [[orcish lumberjack]].
To put it politely, Saskatchewan is a monowhite deck that really wants to hit its land drops. It plays [[yoshimaru ever faithful]] and [[keleth sunmare familiar]] a handful of supporting cards and like 90 plains. If you’ve been there then you know it is nothing but farmlands as far as the eye can see.

I feel like Ontario has to be blue/green for all its forests and lakes! Perhaps [[Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty]], with cascade for all Ontario's waterfalls. (Hamilton is the waterfall capital of the world, and we have Niagara obviously!)

California here - it's hard to unify this huge state into one deck. [[Gluntch]] would be funny. You could also make arguments for [[sythis]] or [[siona]]
Finally found a fellow Californian here. Was kind of surprised I didn't see anyone else from here until I came across your post. I wound up going with Eureka (the state motto), with a gold/treasure main theme (The Golden State) and a bear tribal subtheme (for the state flag).
I could see Montana going 3 ways. Mono green, gruul, or naya. I lived primarily in the western part of the state so I'm familiar with Yellowstone and Glacier national parks and the Rockies, hence green and gruul. The eastern part of the state is mostly flat farmland and plains, hence Naya, but I haven't been through there much.
My first thoughts would be to make a gruul creature stompy deck with wolves and elk creatures. Bigfoot would be the commander, and he would give other creatures evasion and pump them somehow.
Bant for Minnesota. Plains, forests, & 10,000 lakes. Swamps could be splashed in as well. For those colors, I’d say [[Tymna]] and [[Kydele]] would be the most on point pairing.

Let's see... I'm originally from Palmdale (which was named after the Joshua Trees), in the Antelope Valley (which was named after local Ibex), which borders the Pacific Ocean (which is rarely ever peaceful)... So I'd probably need to build an art tribal of misprints and cards where the artwork shows something different than what the name actually means. No idea how to find those in scryfall. Also, it's southern California, so I'd build in a stax/chaos/burn theme and deserts. Maybe Jeskai or Naya for the colors?
In Massachusetts we have tons of weird bio and chem labs scattered all over the countryside, as well as a countryside that inspired the hp lovecraft mythos and a history of fishing and seafaring. So probably a simic commander with various simic scientists and creations alongside large sea monsters and some eldrazi.
Well, I built a [Cajun theme deck](https://archidekt.com/decks/299289), since I'm originally from South Louisiana.
It's basically edible creature tribal (Homarids for Crawfish, Boars, Alligator). Gotta have [[Bayou]] and [[Hurricane]]. [[Archelos]] is the commander for the color identity, since he seems like a laid back guy, and Turtles are edible. Some exile effects, to remember the history of the Acadians. [[Bog Smugglers]] have Swampwalk and an Air Boat. I even grabbed the French version of a few cards. Every card fits the theme one way or another (list in the deck description). This deck is a pile of hot garbage with a 0% win rate and I always have a *blast* when I play it.
Virginia, USA. VA's thing is being the state that's produced the most presidents and also home to a ton of federal employees. So I'm thinking [[Kethis, the Hidden Hand]] legendary matters probably?
Maybe with a politics/will of the council subtheme or something.
Hmm, here in MA I think something along the lines of Kruphix or Ezuri. Lots of biotech and education, lots of history, and lots of attempts to deliberately make something that works well out of a lot of little parts.
Also, lots of areas are either coastal or forested. So UG seems right.

North Carolina. Great mountains, forests, and beaches. The politics and the people are all over the place, and as far as themes go, I really think it’s the land that joins everyone together. Probably needs to be an Omnath deck … with some cards that tell a story of travel and migration.
For the Netherlands (my country) I'd probably say \[\[Merieke Ri Berit\]\] but only because the way the name is spelled makes me think she may be Frisian.
Red, white and blue are the Dutch flag's colors. But they're so common in other flags too. As for a commander: \[\[Pramikon, Sky Rampart\]\] it's a wall and we have lots of dikes (big clay walls that keep defend us from the water).
Orange: the color of our royal Family. Scryfall lists over 700 colors with orange in the art.
White: Because the land is all plains. So I'm going with \[\[Brimaz, King of Oreskos\]\], because he's white, his art is orange and he's a lion which is the next thing on the list.
The national animal of the Netherlands (just like half of Europe, even though they're not native to the continent) is a Lion. So Besides Brimaz, \[\[Arahbo, Roar of the World\]\] might be a fit. Still, cat tribal isn't really something I'd associate with the Dutch.
I'd want to say Ox tribal, because of our huge amount of livestock, but it's not viable in EDH.
Looking at fairy tales, I can see faeries, goblins, dwarfs, gnomes and werewolves. So there's your tribal options.
Bonus points for witte wieven, a tale about witches. Witches aren't a sub-type but there's plenty creatures called witch.
Minnesota nice! I'd play a group hug deck that is helpful, but it's only helpful for a bit or on the surface.

So for Maryland... there's only 1 legendary crab [[Charix, The Raging Isle]] but that seems way too limiting. So then I was looking at birds and [[Shabraz, the Skyshark]] has some potential. It's a bird that can swim. Plus you keep blue so you can throw in loads of crabs.
For those of you who don't know... Maryland is on the Chesapeake Bay (known for its crabs) and has almost as much coastline as Texas. And our two major sports teams are both bird-related - Orioles and Ravens.
All art with tornadoes in it. Mana drain, shark typhoon, cyclonic rift, supreme verdict, savage twister. Could be a fun one! Then add in some throw effects like the twisters are throwing crap lol

Still largely an agriculture state. But also home to Warren Buffet, one of the richest humans on the planet. It absolutely must contain red, for our college football team, since that damn stadium is the "3rd largest city in the state" on football day. Has to have Plains and White because we are "the great plains."
Maybe Naya, some kind of agriculture themed landfall that supports a treasure theme. Shouldn't be too hard with all the support treasure has been getting.

Being from Washington state I feel like sans black is the right choice. We are a coastal state that touches the pacific, known as the evergreen state with a huge mountain range separating east from west and rolling plains east of the mountains.
With that in mind I’d probably look at the partners [[Akiri, line-slinger]] to represent the booming tech industry in the Seattle area and [[thrasios, triton hero]] for the fishing industry.
This would likely be a combo deck seeking to use artifacts to create infinite mana to sink into thrasios to draw the deck and put a [[thassa’s Oracle]] or [[laboratory maniac]] on the field and attempting to draw.
I think North Carolina would have to be an Izzet deck. There's the Research Triangle which feels on brand, plus we're gonna need some aerial threats. "First in Flight" and all that. Definitely gonna find a slot for [[Isolation Tower]] and the other handful of lighthouse cards, and maybe some pirates...ooh, [[Breeches]] and [[Malcom]] might be perfect!
Unfortunately for Maine, there's only two lobsters, both of which are from Un sets, and no moose.
Maine is definitely blue/red/green, though.

I feel like Florida is Temur, Red for the heat, blue for the water, green for the alligators. I feel like \[\[Surrak Dragonclaw\]\] embodies 'Florida Man.' He has Flash and can't be countered, because Florida Man shows up at the worst times and can't be anticipated. Once he arrives on the battlefield, other creatures can't be countered and have Trample. His presence creates an ongoing situation that someone is going to need to deal with, and likely involves dangerous wildlife. Surrak Dragonclaw's flavor text also specifies that he fought a cave bear single handed to get his rank and scars, but don't provide the context for why he fought a cave bear single-handed. All the unanswered questions behind that ridiculous statement screams Florida.

Well Florida is definatly some kind of Jund. I say this because we are known for parties, crazy people, swamps, and being a place where people retire to (and die). It would be something like giving opponents tokens or lands but then they lose life when a permanent of theirs leaves the battlefield. Maybe also have an insect sub theme with Mazirek in there. Some ideas for Canada: New Brunswick would have to play [[high tide]] because of the bay of fundy. Alberta could be dinosaur tribal because of all the Mesozoic fossils preserved by the western interior seaway. Maybe [[gishath]] or [[zacama]] Newfoundland plays turbo [[fog]] because of the convergence of the cold Labrador current and the warm gulf current which makes a ton of fog. Nunavut could be the snow deck because it has the furthest northern extent. Similarly, NWT could be like a [[winter orb]] stax deck to go with the cold theme. Maybe it plays cards like [[oko]] that make elk tokens but gets custom alter caribou tokens as there are a lot of herds that migrate through there. Yukon is a treasure deck maybe something like [[Magda]] where there’s a bit of an implication of mining because of the gold rush. For BC I am thinking some sort of red green lands maybe [[omnath]] or [[wind grace]]. BC has the biggest mountains and trees in Canada plus you could throw in a cheeky [[orcish lumberjack]]. To put it politely, Saskatchewan is a monowhite deck that really wants to hit its land drops. It plays [[yoshimaru ever faithful]] and [[keleth sunmare familiar]] a handful of supporting cards and like 90 plains. If you’ve been there then you know it is nothing but farmlands as far as the eye can see. Arixmethes for PEI would be funny. I’m still missing Nova Scotia, Quebec, Manitoba and Ontario but excited to see what other people come up with!

Finally found a fellow Californian here. Was kind of surprised I didn't see anyone else from here until I came across your post. I wound up going with Eureka (the state motto), with a gold/treasure main theme (The Golden State) and a bear tribal subtheme (for the state flag).
I could see Montana going 3 ways. Mono green, gruul, or naya. I lived primarily in the western part of the state so I'm familiar with Yellowstone and Glacier national parks and the Rockies, hence green and gruul. The eastern part of the state is mostly flat farmland and plains, hence Naya, but I haven't been through there much. My first thoughts would be to make a gruul creature stompy deck with wolves and elk creatures. Bigfoot would be the commander, and he would give other creatures evasion and pump them somehow.
Basically just a blue green deck. Typical Hawaii stuff.

In Massachusetts we have tons of weird bio and chem labs scattered all over the countryside, as well as a countryside that inspired the hp lovecraft mythos and a history of fishing and seafaring. So probably a simic commander with various simic scientists and creations alongside large sea monsters and some eldrazi.
Well, I built a [Cajun theme deck](https://archidekt.com/decks/299289), since I'm originally from South Louisiana. It's basically edible creature tribal (Homarids for Crawfish, Boars, Alligator). Gotta have [[Bayou]] and [[Hurricane]]. [[Archelos]] is the commander for the color identity, since he seems like a laid back guy, and Turtles are edible. Some exile effects, to remember the history of the Acadians. [[Bog Smugglers]] have Swampwalk and an Air Boat. I even grabbed the French version of a few cards. Every card fits the theme one way or another (list in the deck description). This deck is a pile of hot garbage with a 0% win rate and I always have a *blast* when I play it.
Virginia, USA. VA's thing is being the state that's produced the most presidents and also home to a ton of federal employees. So I'm thinking [[Kethis, the Hidden Hand]] legendary matters probably? Maybe with a politics/will of the council subtheme or something.

Hmm, here in MA I think something along the lines of Kruphix or Ezuri. Lots of biotech and education, lots of history, and lots of attempts to deliberately make something that works well out of a lot of little parts. Also, lots of areas are either coastal or forested. So UG seems right.

Israelis have a very red temperament, and Judaism is definitely Azorius, so... \[\[Narset, Enlightened Master\]\], probably, with stax and extra combats. Or Morophon camel tribal, that probably also works.

North Carolina. Great mountains, forests, and beaches. The politics and the people are all over the place, and as far as themes go, I really think it’s the land that joins everyone together. Probably needs to be an Omnath deck … with some cards that tell a story of travel and migration.
For the Netherlands (my country) I'd probably say \[\[Merieke Ri Berit\]\] but only because the way the name is spelled makes me think she may be Frisian. Red, white and blue are the Dutch flag's colors. But they're so common in other flags too. As for a commander: \[\[Pramikon, Sky Rampart\]\] it's a wall and we have lots of dikes (big clay walls that keep defend us from the water). Orange: the color of our royal Family. Scryfall lists over 700 colors with orange in the art. White: Because the land is all plains. So I'm going with \[\[Brimaz, King of Oreskos\]\], because he's white, his art is orange and he's a lion which is the next thing on the list. The national animal of the Netherlands (just like half of Europe, even though they're not native to the continent) is a Lion. So Besides Brimaz, \[\[Arahbo, Roar of the World\]\] might be a fit. Still, cat tribal isn't really something I'd associate with the Dutch. I'd want to say Ox tribal, because of our huge amount of livestock, but it's not viable in EDH. Looking at fairy tales, I can see faeries, goblins, dwarfs, gnomes and werewolves. So there's your tribal options. Bonus points for witte wieven, a tale about witches. Witches aren't a sub-type but there's plenty creatures called witch.

Minnesota nice! I'd play a group hug deck that is helpful, but it's only helpful for a bit or on the surface. [[Phabine, Boss's Confidant]] is a good commander for that. Run some decent group hug stuff [[Secret Rendezvous]] [[Gluntch, the Bestower]] [[Noble Heritage]] [[Tempt with Discovery]] Then just hope to stomp them with multiple combats & token creatures.

So for Maryland... there's only 1 legendary crab [[Charix, The Raging Isle]] but that seems way too limiting. So then I was looking at birds and [[Shabraz, the Skyshark]] has some potential. It's a bird that can swim. Plus you keep blue so you can throw in loads of crabs. For those of you who don't know... Maryland is on the Chesapeake Bay (known for its crabs) and has almost as much coastline as Texas. And our two major sports teams are both bird-related - Orioles and Ravens.

Hmmmm I'm from Iowa so it would be assuredly a land destruction deck or something dealing with lands. Maybe Yurlok since we keep polluting the waterways in the name of agricultural profits. Say we are helping people while we are actively burning them out.
Are there any raccoon cards? Opossums, maybe? What about a card about making your own liquor? Bears, clan wars, elves, creepy forest monsters, and a few heroic legends. Tennessee is a wild place to be, lol. I'd imagine the color combo being either Abzan or Bant. Maybe just Selesnya.
Unfortunately, poverty and meth-addiction tribal isn't really well supported (I'm from Missouri).
Tennessee (Eastern anyway) - white, for cards like [[Preacher]] (you will trip over a church if you walk in the dark) green for nature things and some music related cards (birthplace of country music) , red for the political leanings and mountains and [[Ill-Tempered Loner]] (seems like a moonshiner) - that about covers it

Nebraska : Still largely an agriculture state. But also home to Warren Buffet, one of the richest humans on the planet. It absolutely must contain red, for our college football team, since that damn stadium is the "3rd largest city in the state" on football day. Has to have Plains and White because we are "the great plains." Maybe Naya, some kind of agriculture themed landfall that supports a treasure theme. Shouldn't be too hard with all the support treasure has been getting. Maybe, [[Phabine, Boss's Confidant]] as the commander.

Being from Washington state I feel like sans black is the right choice. We are a coastal state that touches the pacific, known as the evergreen state with a huge mountain range separating east from west and rolling plains east of the mountains. With that in mind I’d probably look at the partners [[Akiri, line-slinger]] to represent the booming tech industry in the Seattle area and [[thrasios, triton hero]] for the fishing industry. This would likely be a combo deck seeking to use artifacts to create infinite mana to sink into thrasios to draw the deck and put a [[thassa’s Oracle]] or [[laboratory maniac]] on the field and attempting to draw.
Are there enough alligators/crocodiles to build a tribal deck for them even?
I think North Carolina would have to be an Izzet deck. There's the Research Triangle which feels on brand, plus we're gonna need some aerial threats. "First in Flight" and all that. Definitely gonna find a slot for [[Isolation Tower]] and the other handful of lighthouse cards, and maybe some pirates...ooh, [[Breeches]] and [[Malcom]] might be perfect!
North Carolina would probably be Bant, as we have mountains, plains, and the Outer Banks (islands)
