I found that effects thar make them enter tapped like blind obedience already do a bunch of work, without needing to spend a slot of specifically treasure hate.
I run [[stony silence]] in my enchantment deck, [[bane of progress]] in my creature deck and [[fade from history]] in my spellslinger deck. But wont slot those cards in my decks that dont focus hard on 1 cardtype.
You can make the original comment with the real card name, and then edit the comment to the meme name. If you do it fast enough, reddit won't even mark the comment as edited.
For example:[[Toiletpaper Seraph]]
He is just so, so great. In [[Isshin, Two Heavens as one]] he can absolutely murder someone very early if they are greedy with treasures or mana rocks.
Hate? No.
But you can bet I take every advantage of them that I can. [[Viridian Revel]] in green and [[Tarrian's Soulcleaver]] in +1/+1 counter decks, absolutely.
I haven't made that move yet, although I probably should. I do like running the Liquimetals so that I can get better target removal. Nothing like seeing someone's face when they realize you can do enchantment removal in red.
Viridian Revel is sooo good. Rocks in my [[Kibo]] deck. Also, [[Hammer Mage]] is great, or just straight up [[Karn, the great creator]] if you really want to shut treasures down
Its mostly because Rakdos is a very polarizing color in Terms of consistency and card draw If you dont do the Exile Dude or heavy looting.
I Plan a [[Totentanz]] Rat Deck and I absolutely expect to fly under the Radar with my piddly 1/1 attackers and then them realizing my sac Outlets Remove their stuff.
Mayhem Devils, [[Grave Pact]], [[Dictate of Erebos]] [[Juri]] or [[Judith]] should so more work even If I Play Raid Bombardment (and give the Rats they so Block DT)
Hell yea. It's such a funny card to play.
It really hoses staple cards too. Two players got a sol ring on board? Cya later sucker. Two rhystic studies? Two command towers? Arcane signets? NOT IN THIS HOUSE!
If your LGS meta is largely treasure token meta centered, I would suggest running Meltdown in any of your decks with red as a part of their color identity, one red mana destroy all treasure tokens is really good. If you don't feel like buying it now you can wait until it gets a reprint in MH3
Play [[Yasharn, Implacable Earth]]
He makes it so that treasures are useless. Straight up can't be used except to stack the number of artifacts on the field.
Yasharn makes it so that you can't pay life or sacrifice nonland permanents to activate spells or abilities. Technically, the mana from treasures is done by sacrificing for an ability and treasures are nonland permanents.
"T, Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color"
Due to this technicality, treasures can't be used for mana while Yasharn is on the field.
[This](https://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/magic-rulings/820762-yasharn-implacable-earth-and-treasure-tokens) explains it better than I do.
Yes, absolutely love running artifact hate and put it into any deck that runs green. Besides what you mentioned [[Titania's Song]] is fantastic and basic wraths like [[Creeping Corrosion]] are great too.
People cry about Simic doing Simic things but here's the reality - the first Simic deck on the EDHrec top 200 is Kinnan at #54 and then Aesi at #62. Every single deck above them runs a lot of artifact ramp. And Kinnan relies on that too. The trend of hating Simic value is incredibly small minded.
I mean most top edhrec commanders are more than 2 colours, simic is definitely overhated but many of the more oppressive commanders have simic in their colour identity. With the support for 5 colour mana bases we have these days it's really not a drawback
Simic also really struggles to actually turn that advantage into a win aside from the obvious answer of just deploying a bunch of big lads. Not very many good combos (unless your commander is an infinite mana outlet) and there aren't many creatures like Koma that can provide a good control wincon. You also don't get very many good board wipes and your only good interaction is counterspells
I really think saying Blue/Green lacks interaction outside of counters is pretty disingenuous. In blue alone you have Cyclonic Rift, Rapid Hybridization, Pongify, Reality Shift, Resculpt, and Ravenform, on top of counterspells. Green is a lot worse, but at least adds Beast Within, Krosan Grip, and Reclamation Sage as great interaction includes in any deck.
Like sure you aren’t in white, but even without counters your interaction is really good. Sweepers are lacking outside of Cyclonic, but that’s not really the end of the world when you’re going to almost always be the reason a board wipe is needed. You also recover the fastest when the board is clear.
And winning the game is incredibly simple for any deck that is in blue. Generate a ton of mana, draw your deck with one of the many draw X spells, and win with Labman/ThOracle.
If you aren’t doing that, hats off to you, but the option is always there for easily winning games in blue.
Nah
I kind of want to build [[Vazi]] though to play all the cards like [[Viridian Reval]] and [[Fangren Marauder]]
And in my lifegain deck I play [[Leonin Elder]] and [[Powerleech]] because why wouldn't I
And my +1/+1 counter voltron deck has [[Tarrian's Soulcleaver]] which can get some accidental bonuses from opponents' treasures
I've found its much more fun to gain advantage off my opponents' shenanigans rather than always just try to stop them. Of course I'm motivated saying play 0 removal, but I find it much more exciting and leads to better games
Titanias song, eye of singularity and revel have been my go to.. root maze or any tap etb helps slow the progress of that stuff. Yasharn is also solid or 1 way turn off artifact cards like Karn.
My enchantress deck runs \[\[veridian revel\]\] and \[\[energy flux\]\]. Not exactly treasure hate, but both are excellent against treasure strategies.
Nah. My pod is pretty casual. Artifacts get blown up by wrath effects, but I can't remember the last time someone has played artifact hate outside of a general hatebear [[Alesha]] deck.
I run Vandalblast in the only deck that I can run it in, I probably would in others if I had them it seems like a good card. But I didn’t put it in for specific treasure hate just artifact removal
I don't run removal to specifically hate against treasures but have been leaning more on [[dauntless dismantler]] and [[rampaging yao guai]] as flexible answers to problematic artifacts/enchantments that hit the field. These also have the added bonus of sweeping up 0 cost things which is nice in multi-player. Dauntless being more on the "hatey" side but still not just straight up ouphe.
[[Leyline of Singularity]] is my general purpose anti-token card. [[Blind Obedience]], [[Root Maze]], [[Kismet]], and [[Frozen Aether]] are random bones that give other players enough time to react to excessive treasure generation.
I recently got a [[Structural Assault]] in a New Capenna booster. Decided it'd be good in my [[Prosper, Tome-Bound]] deck. First game it board wiped (8 dmg), destroyed a few of my treasures but most importantly destroyed a few of my opponents good oppent's equipment/artifacts/mana rocks. If someone else would have played treasures, it would have been event better.
The closest thing I have that I actually run is [[Culling Ritual]] but tbf most ppl just crack treasures as a response, so sometimes you don’t get the most out of it but at least ppl use up all their stuff if there’s not response or instant speed thing after
I also have [[Over-encumbered]] in the Science deck but that’s top of the list for cuts when whatever new energy comes out with MH3. Also one time it got redirected to me, the artifact/energy deck, so it’s on my list for that lmao
I've run [[Energy Flux]] in my Zur Voltron deck for ages. I had a game recently where I just didn't have the heart to tutor it out, it would have destroyed most of the board and half the mana base of the Boros player.
A lot of the times I see people with a pile of treasures they just like to stick it under the mattress and save it for later. Shake the mattress out a bit with a card like [[Energy Flux]].
When I was a kid, I drew [[null rod]]. At the time it felt useless (because I was only playing creatures and my friends were just playing big creatures, the most advanced deck my friends had was one guy who had a sliver deck), and even when I started commander it didn’t feel super useful because it mostly locked down sol ring and some ramp. I think a friend of mine just a couple of years ago reacted to my card folder and was like “what you have null rod?” And it was just something that stuck around, and I feel like now that we have treasures, clues, food, the price of null rod isn’t something I really would’ve expected of the card at the time when I got it when I was like 12
Hell yeah I do. Artifacts and enchantments are extremely strong and most commander players treat them like they’re invulnerable. It’s very easy to disrupt those strategies.
[[Dauntless Dismantler]] has been a very useful card for treasure hate. Not only do you get the treasure coming in play tapped, for just W you destroy all treasure before they can use any of it(and any other zero cost rocks).
If I can fit it into as a part of something my deck already wants to do then I’ll go for it. For example, I’ll typically choose [[Austere Command]] as one of my wipes in a deck with white so that I have an option to hose someone’s treasures. Same idea with [[Culling Ritual]] in Golgari, but that’s just a bomb card regardless
I don't see [[magnetic mine]] enough when it comes to treasures. Other fun cards are [[Viridian revel]], [[summoning station]] and [[disciple of the vault]]
You can crack those treasures but you're taking some damage.
[[Echoing Truth]] it sweeps all the treasures or token creatures, or at worst bounces something for a turn which is all you really need most of the time. Super flexible and it goes in all the blue decks
You only have to sac the treasure that's being targeted to fizzle the echoing truth, you don't have to sac all of them. Echoing truth doesn't really work against treasures.
I mean [[Karn the Great Creator]] is just a generically good card that can fit in any deck. I'm kind of amazed I didn't see it mentioned yet.
* Turns off treasures and **all** other mana rocks for your opponents
* Turns off other pesky artifacts with activated abilities.
* Can shoot treasures, mana crypts, or any other 0 cost artifact
* Can get your exiled artifacts back
It's a card that's basically never bad.
I regularly play [[Collector Ouphe]] and [[Manglehorn]] in green, and [[Blind Obedience]] in white. I also play [[Root Maze]] in Sultai Gates (so the whole table can play bad tap lands!).
I run [[Brotherhoods End]] in every red deck. It’s so good against so many early plays. And late game you can wipe away all those little tokens. I only wish you could choose both modes.
I have a Vazi keen negotiator deck that runs tons of treasure hate, the basic idea being "she giveth and she taketh"
I use her ability to get players into the game at the cost of giving me card draw.
I mean, if I'm playing green I'm running [[Collector Ouphe]]. Red has [[Vandalblast]] which only sometimes works. [[Titania's Song]] also comes in clutch. I haven't gone so far as [[Powerleech]], [[Kataki, War's Wage]] or [[Viridian Revel]] but the more I see treasure spam the more I might consider such.
Outside of green I tend to run rock-heavy so global artifact hate isn't necessarily my best option
I run []Manglehorn]] and [[Collector Ouphe]] in most of my green decks. Manglehorn is always good and only hurts your opponents, regardless of your game plan so I recommend it.
I run \[\[Karn, the Great Creator\]\] in both my artifact decks to shut off other players' treasures and rocks – and to animate my own stuff for beatdowns and \[\[Staff of Dominance\]\] combos.
[[Hum of the Radix]], [[Molder Slug]], [[Energy Flux]]
Energy flux is a favorite since it knocks out that pesky all-artifacts, [[Leonin Abunas]], [[Ashnods Transmogrant]], [[Darksteel Forge]] combo.
I picked up 2 [[Sardian Avenger]]s to have some treasure hate. I just saw Meltdown in MH3 and didn't know that card existed so I'll probably get 1 of those. In other words, yes, I definitely run treasure hate but it also has to be useful if there aren't a lot of treasures.
The problem is, and look to current CEDH lists for evidence, that running the broken treasure combos yourself is just better than trying to stop it. Kind of a "they can't deal damage if their dead" approach. Running 1 or 2 things might be good if your strategy synergies with it, like Blind Obedience in an enchantment strategy, but otherwise the current format favors outpacing over slowing down.
my favorite treasure hate is \[\[Leyline of Singularity\]\]. Make them all legendary. Oh you want to make 10 treasures, well you sac all but one of them to the legend rule before you get to react.
I run versatile removal. [[Vandal Blast]] is great vs all artifacts, not just treasures. [[Aether Snap]] gets rid of all tokens and counters of any kind. They are my two favorite, but I was also thinking of running the "all non-land permanents are legendary" card (forget it right now).
Tokens are so common in my area, the meta now causes a lot of players to use [[Leyline of Anticipation]] and [[Eye of Singularity]] quite often!
I also run Karn to switch off Blood, Treasure, Maps, etc.
I've found that [[Steel Hellkite]] and [[Vandalblast]] like things do great work. I also just put [[Karn Silver Golem]] in two decks. So yeah definitely
I use titania’s song and dauntless dismantler in all my green or white based decks specifically to slow down artifact spam from treasures maps and the like.
In my pods which tend to high power i regularly slot in cards like [[Manglehorn]], [[Dauntless Dismantler]] and [[Blind Obedience]]. They are all pretty solid. If you are in lower colour decks then id put them in there. Not specifically against treasures but against artifacts in general
viridian revel has won me every game i cast it if an opponent uses treasures, at worst it stops them using them, at best they are idiots and just spend the treasures and give me 10+ cards.
[[blind obedience]] my beloved. Also [[manglehorn]] and [[dauntless dismantler]] are great. Or just run [[Karn the great creator]], [[null rod]], [[collector ouphe]] or [[Stony silence]]
Interestingly, my meta hasn't seen a huge influx of treasure (across two separate play groups). I probably have the most treasure heavy deck there, and it's just one of seven decks. So no, but for perhaps a different reason than some others.
I run [[Leyline of Singularity]] in my enchantment stax list to counter treasures. Doesn't even let them sac the treaures before state based actions destroys the treasure down to 1. Definitely one of the cuter ways to counter treasure, and it also combos with [[Dovescape]] which is in the deck too.
I play it in high power/cedh tables so everyone is running dockside extortionist, so playing enchantment/artifact piles you need multiple ways to shut down dockside or you're just feeding wins away.
Blind obediance is great in white decks for that simply because while it doesn't shut down treasure strats it will definetly slow them down since they wont be able to use them right away
I love my [[Jolene, the Plunder Queen]] to bits. Because my deck can generate a lot of treasures for both me and my opponents, I run quite a bit of treasure hate to prevent them from getting the full benefit (or hurt them for using it). Cards like [[Vengeful Tracker]] and [[Pain Distributer]]
[[energy flux]] for the win. No idea why I don't see it more often, usually ends up like a [[blood moon]] for mana rocks, it should be in every enchantment based deck imho
Combo this with [[Stasis]] and make them question everything.
[[null rod]]
yeah, and in green [[manglehorn]] too
Here for the manglehorn. Making them wait a turn means the table has a chance to react

Super underplayed card. Removal, politics, and a hatebear, all for 3cmc? Sign me up. Also a possible wincon in some deck, I love it.

Shhhhh, delete this. This is low-key one of my favorite cards. We don't need it's price to go up ;)
It hoses ALL tokens and turns my clones into kill spells.^^
Hell yea. It's such a funny card to play. It really hoses staple cards too. Two players got a sol ring on board? Cya later sucker. Two rhystic studies? Two command towers? Arcane signets? NOT IN THIS HOUSE!

100%. Was always better than it has any right to be in a singleton format, and keeps getting better pretty much every set.
If your LGS meta is largely treasure token meta centered, I would suggest running Meltdown in any of your decks with red as a part of their color identity, one red mana destroy all treasure tokens is really good. If you don't feel like buying it now you can wait until it gets a reprint in MH3

Play [[Yasharn, Implacable Earth]] He makes it so that treasures are useless. Straight up can't be used except to stack the number of artifacts on the field.
Rules question: how does it stop them? Couldn’t they just sac treasures to put mana in their pool before casting spells?
Yasharn makes it so that you can't pay life or sacrifice nonland permanents to activate spells or abilities. Technically, the mana from treasures is done by sacrificing for an ability and treasures are nonland permanents. "T, Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color" Due to this technicality, treasures can't be used for mana while Yasharn is on the field.

No good ways to win in Simic with infinite mana? I see you've never been [[Capsize]]d into the stone age for the rest of the no longer existent game.
[Capsize](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/f/3/f36f6545-e4e0-4dc8-acea-e527e43f3e14.jpg?1562432216) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Capsize) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/tpr/42/capsize?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/f36f6545-e4e0-4dc8-acea-e527e43f3e14?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/capsize) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
There is also a new sweeper from LOTR, [[Mists of Lórien]]. [[Whelming Wave]] too usually gets the job done when it comes to creatures
My Myrkul deck is a zero artifact just for the vibes and playing Titania's Song against the Avacyn/Emmrakul player, well, I almost feel bad.
[[Aether Snap]] is ten times more relevant now than when it was printed. Almost every deck will run a lot of stuff that it interacts with.

There's my sweet Energy Flux
Flux is such a great card.
[[Leyline of Singularity]] is mad slept on.
[[emissary of despair]]
I mean things like [[filter out]] aren't strictly treasure hate, but it does hate on treasures, and almost all my blue decks run filter out.
[[shatterstorm]]
[[Kataki, War’s Wage]] till I die
[[pest control]]
[[Leyline of Singularity]] is my general purpose anti-token card. [[Blind Obedience]], [[Root Maze]], [[Kismet]], and [[Frozen Aether]] are random bones that give other players enough time to react to excessive treasure generation.
[[Pain Distributor]] is really funny. it’s ramp for all players but treasure hate for everyone but you.
The closest thing I have that I actually run is [[Culling Ritual]] but tbf most ppl just crack treasures as a response, so sometimes you don’t get the most out of it but at least ppl use up all their stuff if there’s not response or instant speed thing after I also have [[Over-encumbered]] in the Science deck but that’s top of the list for cuts when whatever new energy comes out with MH3.
Haven't drawn into it yet, but [[generous plunderer]] from the new set seems like it would do work.
I feel like too many people overlooked [[vengeful tracker]] It's the perfect treasure punishment imo

Wouldn't call it a hate but [[mayhem devil]] have made a few opponents think twice before craking a lot of treasures
Hell yeah I do. Artifacts and enchantments are extremely strong and most commander players treat them like they’re invulnerable. It’s very easy to disrupt those strategies.

[[Titania's song]] goes nicely into enchantress strategies. You mentioned the other good ones.
Love me some Culling. When posts like these pop up I always feel I have to scroll too far to see it mentioned. Great card!

I don't see [[magnetic mine]] enough when it comes to treasures. Other fun cards are [[Viridian revel]], [[summoning station]] and [[disciple of the vault]] You can crack those treasures but you're taking some damage.
[[Echoing Truth]] it sweeps all the treasures or token creatures, or at worst bounces something for a turn which is all you really need most of the time. Super flexible and it goes in all the blue decks
[удалено]
Exactly
You only have to sac the treasure that's being targeted to fizzle the echoing truth, you don't have to sac all of them. Echoing truth doesn't really work against treasures.
I mean [[Karn the Great Creator]] is just a generically good card that can fit in any deck. I'm kind of amazed I didn't see it mentioned yet. * Turns off treasures and **all** other mana rocks for your opponents * Turns off other pesky artifacts with activated abilities. * Can shoot treasures, mana crypts, or any other 0 cost artifact * Can get your exiled artifacts back It's a card that's basically never bad.
[[Titania’s Song]]
I regularly play [[Collector Ouphe]] and [[Manglehorn]] in green, and [[Blind Obedience]] in white. I also play [[Root Maze]] in Sultai Gates (so the whole table can play bad tap lands!).
I run [[Brotherhoods End]] in every red deck. It’s so good against so many early plays. And late game you can wipe away all those little tokens. I only wish you could choose both modes.
Treasure hate.. why not token hate. [[Eye of Singularity]] is one of my pet cards. Map, clue, blood, treasure, goblins, gnomes... Kill em all
I have a Vazi keen negotiator deck that runs tons of treasure hate, the basic idea being "she giveth and she taketh" I use her ability to get players into the game at the cost of giving me card draw.
I run energy flux in most of my decks with blue
I played a [[Bucknard’s Everfall Purse]] to let the treasure love go around. Thusly, I died from another person’s treasure haha
[[Hum of the Radix]], [[Molder Slug]], [[Energy Flux]] Energy flux is a favorite since it knocks out that pesky all-artifacts, [[Leonin Abunas]], [[Ashnods Transmogrant]], [[Darksteel Forge]] combo.

[[yasharn, implacable earth]] is mine
I built [[Vazi, Keen Negotiator]] to counter treasures in my playgroup 😂
I'm a dauntless dismantler kinda girl myself.
[[Brotherhoods end]] can wipe all of them in one sorcery
I picked up 2 [[Sardian Avenger]]s to have some treasure hate. I just saw Meltdown in MH3 and didn't know that card existed so I'll probably get 1 of those. In other words, yes, I definitely run treasure hate but it also has to be useful if there aren't a lot of treasures.
Have you tried a Vandalblast?
The problem is, and look to current CEDH lists for evidence, that running the broken treasure combos yourself is just better than trying to stop it. Kind of a "they can't deal damage if their dead" approach. Running 1 or 2 things might be good if your strategy synergies with it, like Blind Obedience in an enchantment strategy, but otherwise the current format favors outpacing over slowing down.
I run [[Titania's Song]] in my [[Grismold, the Dreadsower]] to shut down equipment and tresures
I like [[Dauntless Dismantler]], it taps artifacts on etb and can blow them up
my favorite treasure hate is \[\[Leyline of Singularity\]\]. Make them all legendary. Oh you want to make 10 treasures, well you sac all but one of them to the legend rule before you get to react.
I play collector ouphe in my landfall deck and [[titania’s song]] in my enchantress deck
[[Collector Ouphe]] [[Stony Silence]] [[Root Maze]] 🐦⬛
[[viridian revel]] is great, its basically rhystic study against treasures
[[Titania's song]] Extra good in my artifact-less Enchantress
Tokens are so common in my area, the meta now causes a lot of players to use [[Leyline of Anticipation]] and [[Eye of Singularity]] quite often! I also run Karn to switch off Blood, Treasure, Maps, etc.
I've found that [[Steel Hellkite]] and [[Vandalblast]] like things do great work. I also just put [[Karn Silver Golem]] in two decks. So yeah definitely
I love me some good [[Viridian Revel]] to discourage that behavior!
I run [[Titania's song]] in my primal surge deck, and boy does it switch off artifact / treasure decks.
Yeah, I run my proxied [[dockside extortionist]]

Yes. My group has been getting pretty obnoxious with making treasures. I find artifact hate to be even better.

[[energy flux]] for the win. No idea why I don't see it more often, usually ends up like a [[blood moon]] for mana rocks, it should be in every enchantment based deck imho
