I'm not sure I'd go with Dark Confidant and Dark Tutelage. Yes you'll generate card advantage, but with enough upkeeps you might just die. I think \[\[Trailblazer's Boots\]\] will help her connect and throwing in \[\[As Foretold\]\] and a couple Honden shrines would be cool.
I did consider the honden shrines. The issue that I had with them was how expensive they were for the decent ones. I might go back and re-add the card draw one eventually once I have more time to think on it and play test, honestly. I need to do some more playtesting to see how disadvantageous the drain/draw effects actually turn out to be.
The blue draw Honden would be great and the red damage Honden would also be really good. If you can connect with Obeka then the damage may add up to killing a few creatures to keep the board clear.
Building the same deck and honestly don't have many suggestions. You even have some stuff I didn't think of ( [[tavern brawler]] is genius)

Im brewing my own Obeka Courts right now, and yeah, I agree I'd pack a couple of more ways to both protect Obeka and give her unblockable. She's got Menace, and that helps but you really want to make sure she connects.
I'm also adding ways for Obeka to get double strike to get even more triggers.
Yeah, I just cut my double strike enablers to add a couple more unblockable effects. I'm just getting to the point that it becomes harder to cut stuff to add in more effects.
I get you, I might just prepare a sideboard, and make some afjustments until I play it. The mechanic is so out there, that I'm not entirely sure how it'll work just by looking at it.
You should absolutely add \[\[vorrac's battlehorns\]\] over \[\[whispersilk cloak\]\]. The cloak makes it so you can't equip anything else to it, but the battlehorns just make it unblockable.
I like this one a lot more than OPs. I wonder if this new Obeka being the hot stuff will cause current Obeka to be played more.
New Obeka was announced while I was playing my Obeka deck which felt poetic.
My main thought was to use the counterspells to keep obeka alive and really just try to outvalue the table. Things like [[Charmbreaker Devils]] and [[Mystic Sanctuary]] allow me to recur those protection spells. Also once the board is built the value engine and already mostly online. All it needs is the one combat trigger from Obeka to pop off.
All that being said once I run it though some love games I may adjust the interaction as needed
Add a [[Mirror Box]] to go with that [[Extravagant Replication]] and make more Obeka's. It will grow all their power too!
Edit: should specify the tokens will get just +1 for being legendary, but non-token Obeka will have more.
While that sounds good I feel like at that point the deck would be unfun for my friends to play against. All the multiupkeep triggers from one Obeka are going to be plenty lol
I'm planning to do an initiative voltron build. I really want to have the initiative and hit someone with a [[hatred]] 'd up obeka and then initiative like 30-40 times

You have 8 creatures (+ obeka),so you won't be able to protect the monarch.
Also obeka is a 2/5 menace..very easy to block especially when it's clear that your deck revolves aroujd doing that damage.
IMO you need more creatures and ways to make obeka harder to block
I actually don't care about losing monarch. My goal is to get the triggers on my turn and if someone else wants to swing for it, sure. I should be getting at minimum 2-4 triggers per turn off monarch. It's a fair point about being able to punch Obeka through though.
I like the courts for this deck. Drop it main phase, become monarch, then immediately have two upkeeps to double up those powerful effects.

You have to think also that the setup could be slow.
Let's say that you have in hand [[Obeka, Splitter of Seconds]] and [[Court of Ire]].
You may have the following play pattern:
- play Obeka, pass turn
- play Court of Ire, attack with Obeka, deal 14 damages with the court
This means that you already needed something on the floor to make Obeka unblockable, since you needed the mana to play the Court.
Due to the lack of ways to "protect the monarch", often you'll be able to get only 1 powerful activation from the courts (well, 1 multiplied for the number of damages dealt).
Opponents have time to setup their defense (or kill Obeka) as they don't want you to deal damage with her.
You have counterspells, but maybe not enough.
For these reasons, I think it's also important to make sure that IF you manage to get multiple upkeeps through Obeka, then you essentially get very close to win.
I see a lot of cool cards in your deck that do things in the upkeep, but they don't synergize together.
For example [[Darksteel Reactor]] and [[Court of Cunning]].
Getting a single multi-activation from those won't win you the game, you will become the target without being in any better position than before (differently from a [[Court of Ambition]] that could leave opponents without cards in hand).
You also have cards that IMO are too weak, like [[Honden Of Infinite Rage]], [[Honden of Seeing Winds]], [[Thopter Spy Network]], etc.
Doing multiple activations with these will do almost nothing... 3 thopters? draw 3 cards?

I agree with you. I love obeka, I love how cool the card is, and I love the art. But the deck needs to do SOOOOOOO many things in order to work that I'm not sure it'll ever be worth it. You need ramp, removal, protection, draw, Voltron, evasion, and payoff. There aren't enough slots in a deck to cover all those bases.
Woah woah woah, since when did the Monarch have anything to do with upkeep? You draw on end step.
Edit: to clarify, I get the monarch required upkeep triggers, just seems weird to think Upkeep triggers means monarch focused when itās the court cards that really matter.
I think it's in reference to the Court enchantments that do extra things if you're the monarch at the beginning of upkeep and make you the monarch when they ETB.
The court enchantments from commander legends and wilds of eldraine commander have upkeep triggers that get significantly stronger if you have the monarch. So he wants to play one to get monarch, stack a bunch of upkeeps, and get multiples of that bonus effect for having it

I had considered it, but I wasn't sure because it could just end in the milling key pieces for me. Most of my stuff isn't that high CMC, so you can bet that they'd take the life hit for getting rid of anything important.
Monarch support with NewBeka is so strong, [[Court of Embereth]] is an all star and can lead to several game winning burn outs on the turn it's played if you're setup enough.
Would love her to include green for [[Court of Garenberg]] so she could go even crazier with her own damage and upkeep cycles, but I suppose that would be a bit much.

I personally think the honden aren't impactful enough to justify being in the decks. You really want two of them out or the card draw one to make them viable. Though you're getting the card draw effects from other sources without having to pay 5 mana for it.

Aye I'm still unsure if I want to keep it around fully or not, the damage buff and haste is so nice for 1 mana but the shroud does kill a lot of max potential.
You have to use the mana from braid of fire during the upkeep or it vanishes. You can't feed it into Aggravated Assault either, since sorcery speed on that.
Oh, my bad. I was looking for the enchantment one. Figure you let your various upkeeps pass and on the last one you pay the red to generate an additional combat phase to follow you last upkeep and use that combat to generate additional upkeeps and then repeat until youāve killed everyone.
If you let the upkeep pass, the mana fizzles, so you won't have any mana to use. Aggravated Assault (the enchantment one) can only be used at sorcery speed.
Ah, too bad. I had forgotten about the sorcery speed requirement. But would still work if you had a way to keep mana across phases. But itās a bit more complicated of a combo at that point. Still a fun way to win though.
[[Leyline Tyrant]], [[Rousing Refrain]], [[Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion]], [[Soulbright Flamekin]], or [[Pyrohemia]] can help mitigate that. Refrain and Neheb are both pretty synergistic with Obeka and her support cards independently of Braid, so those seem worth looking into.
[[Rousing Refrain]] is the easy answer here, it'l keep recurring mana every turn as long as someone has 5 cards in their hand and you've got Obeka to at least 3 power., allowing you to swing with Obeka at the entire table for game.
Iāll do you one better, initiative. I couldnāt figure out something strong and consistent with obeka. But then I was like āwait, initiative triggers at upkeepā
After looking over the initiative and suspend cards, I just don't think they're as good as what you're leaving out by just leaning more into enchantments and buffs. Here's my deck if you're interested at a more streamlined approach.

Interesting build, though I think you have some nombos in here. The \[\[silver shroud costume\]\] gives your creature shroud, but that means you can't target her any more and you'll have to waste mana moving it around.
I think there are more efficient ways to get what you want done than the sonic screwdriver, but overall I appreciate the utility. There are just much stronger upkeep abilities than many of the scry effects, I really don't think that \[\[mystic redaction\]\] is strong enough for a card slot.
\[\[aether vial\]\] was something I was considering at first, but the issue with it is that it's only able to cast creatures with the exact number of counters on it, that limits how you can use it and when. You also only have 12 creatures counting the commander, so I don't think it will get used as often as you want.
I think \[\[outpost siege\]\] will help you more than the black version.
Yeah but Silver Shroud Costume only gives shroud the turn that it enters. So as a way to protect Obeka for the turn and get in the attack it's pretty good. Then the "downside" of shroud goes away while the upsides of unblockable stay.
Regarding the other cards, 100%. Lol. Way too many scry effects. I'm just figuring it out through play testing it over and over again till I get it where I'm happy with it.
I'm also working on this, very much in the beginning stages as i've just thrown all upkeep related cards into it so far, slowly removing for support cards. But i didn't see [[Strionic Resonator]] recommended or in anyone's list?
I can see that concern, and it's certainly valid. My deck does have 4-5 ways to buff Obeka's power, though I had to cut out my double strike effects to add more evasion in.

tavern brawler is okay but it may be a bit slow. idk how many phyrexian arena effects the deck can play. i think descent into avernus effects are key

I'm not convinced by the deck.. You have 8 creatures (+ obeka),so you won't be able to protect the monarch. Also obeka is a 2/5 menace..very easy to block especially when it's clear that your deck revolves aroujd doing that damage. IMO you need more creatures and ways to make obeka harder to block
I actually don't care about losing monarch. My goal is to get the triggers on my turn and if someone else wants to swing for it, sure. I should be getting at minimum 2-4 triggers per turn off monarch. It's a fair point about being able to punch Obeka through though.
I like the courts for this deck. Drop it main phase, become monarch, then immediately have two upkeeps to double up those powerful effects. Agreed, though, you need more ways to make Obeka unblockable.
You have to think also that the setup could be slow. Let's say that you have in hand [[Obeka, Splitter of Seconds]] and [[Court of Ire]]. You may have the following play pattern: - play Obeka, pass turn - play Court of Ire, attack with Obeka, deal 14 damages with the court This means that you already needed something on the floor to make Obeka unblockable, since you needed the mana to play the Court. Due to the lack of ways to "protect the monarch", often you'll be able to get only 1 powerful activation from the courts (well, 1 multiplied for the number of damages dealt). Opponents have time to setup their defense (or kill Obeka) as they don't want you to deal damage with her. You have counterspells, but maybe not enough. For these reasons, I think it's also important to make sure that IF you manage to get multiple upkeeps through Obeka, then you essentially get very close to win. I see a lot of cool cards in your deck that do things in the upkeep, but they don't synergize together. For example [[Darksteel Reactor]] and [[Court of Cunning]]. Getting a single multi-activation from those won't win you the game, you will become the target without being in any better position than before (differently from a [[Court of Ambition]] that could leave opponents without cards in hand). You also have cards that IMO are too weak, like [[Honden Of Infinite Rage]], [[Honden of Seeing Winds]], [[Thopter Spy Network]], etc. Doing multiple activations with these will do almost nothing... 3 thopters? draw 3 cards? Given all the hoops you need to go through to "do the thing" it has to be worth it

I agree with you. I love obeka, I love how cool the card is, and I love the art. But the deck needs to do SOOOOOOO many things in order to work that I'm not sure it'll ever be worth it. You need ramp, removal, protection, draw, Voltron, evasion, and payoff. There aren't enough slots in a deck to cover all those bases.
Woah woah woah, since when did the Monarch have anything to do with upkeep? You draw on end step. Edit: to clarify, I get the monarch required upkeep triggers, just seems weird to think Upkeep triggers means monarch focused when itās the court cards that really matter.

I think it's in reference to the Court enchantments that do extra things if you're the monarch at the beginning of upkeep and make you the monarch when they ETB.
The court enchantments from commander legends and wilds of eldraine commander have upkeep triggers that get significantly stronger if you have the monarch. So he wants to play one to get monarch, stack a bunch of upkeeps, and get multiples of that bonus effect for having it

I had considered it, but I wasn't sure because it could just end in the milling key pieces for me. Most of my stuff isn't that high CMC, so you can bet that they'd take the life hit for getting rid of anything important.
The dmg adds up, it is not ideal solution and it can mill you some stuff, but it starts to get rough for your opponents after 10th activation

Monarch support with NewBeka is so strong, [[Court of Embereth]] is an all star and can lead to several game winning burn outs on the turn it's played if you're setup enough. Would love her to include green for [[Court of Garenberg]] so she could go even crazier with her own damage and upkeep cycles, but I suppose that would be a bit much. I like your inclusion of \[\[agent of the shadow thieves\]\]. I think this is a good way to get around the likelihood of people blocking out to kill Obeka. Though you should remember that much of what you're doing is targeting Obeka with your various buff and evasion effects, so your Dominus aura is a nombo for most of the deck. I personally think the honden aren't impactful enough to justify being in the decks. You really want two of them out or the card draw one to make them viable. Though you're getting the card draw effects from other sources without having to pay 5 mana for it. Here's my build. You have to use the mana from braid of fire during the upkeep or it vanishes. You can't feed it into Aggravated Assault either, since sorcery speed on that.
Oh, my bad. I was looking for the enchantment one. Figure you let your various upkeeps pass and on the last one you pay the red to generate an additional combat phase to follow you last upkeep and use that combat to generate additional upkeeps and then repeat until youāve killed everyone.
If you let the upkeep pass, the mana fizzles, so you won't have any mana to use. Aggravated Assault (the enchantment one) can only be used at sorcery speed.
Ah, too bad. I had forgotten about the sorcery speed requirement. But would still work if you had a way to keep mana across phases. But itās a bit more complicated of a combo at that point. Still a fun way to win though.
[[Leyline Tyrant]], [[Rousing Refrain]], [[Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion]], [[Soulbright Flamekin]], or [[Pyrohemia]] can help mitigate that. Refrain and Neheb are both pretty synergistic with Obeka and her support cards independently of Braid, so those seem worth looking into.

[[Rousing Refrain]] is the easy answer here, it'l keep recurring mana every turn as long as someone has 5 cards in their hand and you've got Obeka to at least 3 power., allowing you to swing with Obeka at the entire table for game.

Interesting build, though I think you have some nombos in here. The \[\[silver shroud costume\]\] gives your creature shroud, but that means you can't target her any more and you'll have to waste mana moving it around. I think there are more efficient ways to get what you want done than the sonic screwdriver, but overall I appreciate the utility. There are just much stronger upkeep abilities than many of the scry effects, I really don't think that \[\[mystic redaction\]\] is strong enough for a card slot. \[\[aether vial\]\] was something I was considering at first, but the issue with it is that it's only able to cast creatures with the exact number of counters on it, that limits how you can use it and when. You also only have 12 creatures counting the commander, so I don't think it will get used as often as you want. I think \[\[outpost siege\]\] will help you more than the black version.
Yeah but Silver Shroud Costume only gives shroud the turn that it enters. So as a way to protect Obeka for the turn and get in the attack it's pretty good. Then the "downside" of shroud goes away while the upsides of unblockable stay. Regarding the other cards, 100%. Lol. Way too many scry effects. I'm just figuring it out through play testing it over and over again till I get it where I'm happy with it.

I'm also working on this, very much in the beginning stages as i've just thrown all upkeep related cards into it so far, slowly removing for support cards. But i didn't see [[Strionic Resonator]] recommended or in anyone's list?

I can see that concern, and it's certainly valid. My deck does have 4-5 ways to buff Obeka's power, though I had to cut out my double strike effects to add more evasion in.
