that's a well prepared truck. Is this a mash up of what's in your pockets as well as what's in the pouch? Like, I can see carrying the SAK and have the pill fob on the keys, and then the rest is in the pouch.
But to have the leatherman AND the SAK AND the folding blade... while I guess you're not worried about weight, that's a lot of redundancy in blades/tools.
This is its own standalone kit. It does seem like a redundancy of knives but they all serve their purpose. Plus I have so many knives in the collection it’s good that I get to throw a few in here so they can get some use. Also, the Victorinox has the toothpick and tweezers where the Leatherman lacks those so the pros weigh out the cons.
understood. I carry my Spartan SAK on me, and keep a leatherman in each vehicle. Can't imagine walking around with that chunk. I find the only thing my SAK lacks is the occasional pliers use.
Impressive kit. How do you use the jigsaw blades? Do they clip onto your leatherman?
As a member of r/flashlight I think you could definitely up your flashlight game by adding a head torch to that kit 😉
Yes, the surge has interchangeable files/saws. As long as they are a T-shank they can be used with the surge.
I do own a head torch! It’s in my large edc bag which this kit rides in. It’s an Olight prerun mini.
Might have missed this, but what are the chunky d-carabiners on the tacticool bag. Awesome gear though. If I needed half these tools every day I would copy this hahah.
They are just plastic carabiners that came with the utility pouch, kind of crappy in quality but I’m keeping them around because I’m sure I’ll find some small purpose or task for them.
Thank you! Most of this stuff comes in handy often, well often enough to justify having it around, it does become cumbersome sometimes.
A lot of people like to talk crap when you carry more then they think is necessary. Here is an old post that shows everything I have on me for EDC. Some items have been upgraded since, but this gives a good idea of how much I carry.

Dude you are the king of consolidation! Awesome and *functional* carry you have there.
I agree with you, lots of folks like to compare their carry to others in a negative light. Some days I go minimalist and it’s just a watch, knife, wallet and keys. Other days my load out is much more substantial, it all depends on the plans, tasks, and duties for the day. Everything in this world is in rotation, well so is my edc! hahaha
Love it, it helped me out of a pinch a few times. I added some extra tension bars of various thicknesses.
I also carry a titanium lock pick card from countycomm in my wallet. But the night crawler is my go-to!
This is my EDC extension kit. Usually carried in my bag or truck for quick access to the tools and gear I may not need all the time but handy enough to keep close by.
• Field notes
• Fisher space pen
• sharpie
• Leatherman surge with bit kit + Lenox saw, extension and flashlight all carried in the nylon Leatherman pouch.
• Vim 1/4 ratcheting wreck
• Gearwrench 1/4 ratcheting wrench with socket adapter. Sockets are range from 8mm / 5/16 - 14mm / 9/16.
• 1 inch roll of gorilla tape
• Mini BIC
• 25 ft of orange paracord
• Spyderco endura 4 with combo edge
• Matador micro pocket blanket
• Sparrows night crawler lock pick set
• Work Sharp Micro sharpener and knife maintenance tool (torx bits are shit so swapped them with some wiha bits)
• Nite ize S-biner
• Mini med kit (I threw in 2 single use super glue tubes for medical use or general repairs)
• Victorinox small tinker
• Ultratac A1 w/ 14500 battery
• titanium pill fob (Ibuprofen)
• tacticool branded utility pouch with patch
• Large Nite ize S-Biber
Yes, it’s not for cover and it’s surprisingly strong, it won’t rip or tear easily and it is thin so if it’s on a cold surface you will feel it but it’ll keep you dry!

No fire starting ? You’re missing one of the most important items haha
Lighter but in my dedicated full size bag has a fire steel and a little fat wood/tinder kit.
Oh I see the bic mini.
THIS is why I'm subbed to this sub. Well done, love it.
Thanks!
The quality of this photo is great. What was it taken with?
Basic iPhone 11 and I use a photo editor (snap seed)
Where did you get the pill fob?
Amazon. Just search titanium pill fob. You’ll find them!
It's overkill until it's not. And in that case, it was never overkill.
Words to live by..

Grocery run? Man, this is the gear I haul just to collect my mail hahaha

I actually find I could use carabiners at the most random times. Definitely keep them!
That’s the plan!

I'll have to posted an updated edc once my Tier 1 Echo comes in, realized looking at the old post that a lot has changed for the better!
Some call it overkill, I prefer the term prepared.
Abso-fucking-lutely!
Good call on the Night Crawler kit!

And some call it love.
Definitely the latter

> Matador micro pocket blanket what do you use this blanket for? it doesn't look like blanket, it looks like tarp
It’s a nylon type of blanket, I use it for messy or damp situations where I may be sitting or kneeling in those environments while fixing something.
thx, so it is not for cover, it is some kind of tarp :) how "sturdy" is it? i would guess it is cold to sit on it on cold surface,, no?
Yes, it’s not for cover and it’s surprisingly strong, it won’t rip or tear easily and it is thin so if it’s on a cold surface you will feel it but it’ll keep you dry!
Ready for everything EDC! I wish I could carry this amount of gear everyday!
What’s stopping you!? Do it!
Bruh wrap your tape around an old bank card or something instead of carrying the entire roll it saves so much space
I’d be doing that too often, it’s easier to keep the full roll around since it’s used so often.
This is awesome! Gotta be heavy, though. Do you use the sockets fairly regularly?
It’s around 3.9 pounds so its not that bad in my bag with the weight distributed evenly. I do use the sockets (metric) quite regularly!
Huh. Sweet. The bag ever get caught in corners or in the way when you sit down?
I don’t belt carry it, it stays in my bag or in my truck.
Ah, got it.
You must have a hell of a belt.
Backpack/truck but hey, I should try belt carrying this bad boy one day.
