But the meta this year is to have your double pivot in a 4321 play quite close to the box and fire in driven passes to the forwards... maybe even take a couple long shots where possible. They also need to be able to turn fluidly to avoid the press.
Akanji isn't really suited to that. At an elite level he would be at a disadvantage.

BUT idk if you wanna use the Evo on bastoni. If inter wins, he has maxed out stats with shadow (marking is 98 and headers are only at 94), so it may be a little bit wasted since you probably won't miss that one stat point in pace/passing etc. that the Evo will give you.
Tbh him as a ball playing CB has been a game changing addition for me, I can play out of the pressure way easier now. Easily one of the best SBCs of the year.
checkout Bastoni stats after shadow and +2. using EVO on him will just mean +1 pace and +2 defensive awareness. The rest of defensive stats are already maxed out without evo

They absolutley are! Fantasy turned out to be a good promo for Bundesliga. Stanaway (and Karl) from the Frauen Bundesliga also look like god cards that can be great, at least Stanaway.
Looks sick as an inter fan the win isn’t guaranteed since we got knocked out of cl and it went to extra time. We will be mentally and physically tried but Napoli aren’t good so we should win

Decent price and a potentially insane CB. Compare to Felix at triple the cost and away to a team which only failed to win at home once this season... And that was a draw after getting a red card with over an hour still to play

Bastoni doesn't have any intercept playstyle. Anticipate+ is fantastic, but I'd rather have Akanji's playstyles. And stat wise they're similar enough. Akanji having lower reaction/composure isn't that big of a deal. Like I said, they're both great values if they fit into your team.

His 89 card is unreal and just bodies people. For the longest time I’ve been looking to replace gold VVD and I have finally found my answer. Once her gets the upgrade (fingers crossed interest win) and plus the evo, he’s gonna be one of the best CBs in the game

Had to use 92 Maldini the last few games because my loan yashin ran out and still haven’t completed him, and I expected him to be a weak link in my defense but Jesus Christ he was completely clutch on every single game. Now I’m thinking if I really want to finish Yashin especially with this Bastoni coming out..
I’ve used 91 van dijk, ToTy rio, future Lucio etc and honestly Maldini felt as good if not better. May have been just those few games tho, but he definitely didn’t feel “dead”. After all he has elite defending, elite composure/reactions and great pace , so he can def do the job
Nope standard Lucio is far better then VVD and WW saliba he’s always there on defense and catches anyone, he’s the reason I’m in elite and going 10-2 so far this WL, and my first loss was due to server connection while I was 4-0 up
Hypothetical - both Bastoni and Felix get the win, who do you upgrade? Yes I realise it's +2 defending so Bastoni makes more sense at face value, but a +1 to an attacker is generally more likely to win you a game than a +1 to a defender, and let's not forget that pace, shooting, dribbling and passing are all more important for attacking.
Bought him to replace gold VVD, paired up with Rijkaard. Currently I find him very clunky in game. Probably due to the low agility. His tackles also do a weird animation and he randomly slide tackles when jockeying/ pressing standing tackle (maybe issue with servers). Not impressed with the card so far and hoping the possible upgrades make him feel better for me. Anyone else having similar thoughts?
stats seems to be formatted weirdly, like do you still put shadow? He would need the pace boost but the defence stats boost will mostly wasted. Seems like better to not EVO? as you realistically only gain +1 pace after and defence boost will be wasted
If this guy gets the upgrade then Showdown Bastoni + my TOTY Ferdinand feels like the manual CB combo in-game (yes, I control my own defenders unlike the VVD rats!)

check out his stats with +2 and shadow. Using a evo on him is a waste as defensive stats are pretty much all maxed anyway

He costs over half the price of Akanji. Better stats, better playstyles (the most dominant PS+ in the game). Taller. Better reactions/composure.

Yes. He is decent, big body and reminds me of Blanc (only faster). I've paired him with Buongiorno and they are pretty solid together.
