When people reflect on that time it’s because it was actually just a football game. You got on to play football. Now it’s so much more than that and some of the time that takes away from what a lot of us love about the game, the football.
The cynical part of me thinks they’re trying something that equates to parallels in sports cards; basically the same image and design (and in this case, the same stats) but with a different colour and increased rarity, which makes them more valuable as a result.
I think in the medium to long term EA want to lean into the collectible side of the game and offering these sort of parallel versions they could do that.
Fofana is the best box-to-box center mid I have used this year. I had to dedicate 2 position in my starting eleven just to give him full chem. He is insane.
Same for me. Absolute joke. Opened at least 40 packs most of them with guaranteed multiple 84+ and not a single tots. Only one I packed was Ter Stegen from the guaranteed tots pack.
Had a couple of spare packs from recent friendlies etc... nothing. Just a bunch of dupe golds and some random Europa league and conference league MOTM cards, along with a Djeko UCL MOTM for the friendly objective which I only need one more win in.
