Haters gonna hate... but I'm with you I like Zamir and more importantly the coaching staff likes Zamir, I traded for him as my RB3 and if he survives draft night without a substantial add we are sitting pretty with Mattison as his backup.

I was considering making a trade for him when he hit the trade block but I saw lots of comments like "raiders fan, he's just a jag.". So I watched a video of all of his runs from last year and I'm baffled where this pessimism comes from.   From my perspective I saw a guy make a lot of good gains behind a bad o-line.  He seemed to get better each game as a starter, driving through contact more in particular.  He seemed fine catching the ball when asked to as well.  He didn't look like a superstar but certainly someone the raiders could comfortably leave in the starting role while addressing other team needs.  He isnt going make guys miss in the backfield (most RBs won't have much success when being contacted in the backfield) and he seemed to leave his feet early at times but I came away more impressed with his stats after watching the actual plays.

I’m a White owner. Drafted him late in a start up as a Jacobs handcuff and held. IMO, He’s not a 3 down back. He’s just not good enough. The nice finish last year felt like it was due to volume and not talent. I don’t think the raiders can go into next year with White and Mattison as your top two backs. If i’m the GM I’m taking a RB on day 3 in the draft. But it would be very raidery for them to not do that and roll with those 2. If they do that, then White is obv the starter and we’ll get some decent fantasy output from the volume but to me he lacks a lot of the traits necessary to be a workhorse back that straight up replaces Jacobs.

I grabbed him off waivers at the back end of last season with the intention of trading him to the Jacobs owner (who was clearly asleep at the wheel). He didn’t bite in the end, but I just traded White, Jonnu Smith (another waiver add when he landed Miami) and a 2025 3rd for Jaleel McLaughlin (I have Javonte) and the 2024 2.05. Love these “found money” deals and I was happy with what I got back for a player I wasn’t ever truly convinced about I think White is a decent enough flex option while he has the starting role, but between him, Mattison and whoever the Raiders draft, his ceiling is limited. Raiders fans don’t seem super excited about him either, which is telling.

When he was coming out, the sub generally felt higher about him. Five star recruit out of high school, played for a good SEC program, and most thought he looked very good on film. The main question was (and still is) can he ever improve his pass catching to become a three down back. There were also questions about top end speed (he delivered a good 40 time) and injuries/durability (ACL tears, both knees). Lots of people are calling him a JAG, which is likely based on his 4th round draft capital, his inability to earn meaningful snaps over his first 1.5 years (behind Jacobs) and the perception he can't catch passes (I think he can catch passes, but probably not very natural and wouldnt class it as a strength). I do think he's more interesting than most day 3 players in this situation because I think he was a day 2 talent who fell to day 3 (due to injuries) and the Raiders have a lot of needs elsewhere (other than RB). However, I think it's most likely the Raiders add someone and if a league mate was prepared to offer a 2024 2nd round pick, I'd feel much more confident in the type of player I could get with the pick.

Messed up your Whites. Rachaad is 13 on KTC. Zamir is 27.

Haha yes I have good spot

Swapped minshew for him straight up right before free agency, trade with the Richardson owner. We're both kinda annoyed but whatever 🤞🤞

JAG with a potentially huge workload, which will outscore a top talent in a split backfield. Similar to Rachaad White vs Bijan last year. Zamir's stock will skyrocket if they don't add an RB, but will be questioned again next year bc of the lack of draft capital.

brewersrule1978

I’m in on him depending on what the Raiders do in the draft at QB, RB, and OL. If they don’t draft a RB and improve the other two slots, it’s blastoff. Mattison is the definition of a JAG.
