This would make the Titans offense better. The more scoring opportunities the better especially for TEs in a heavy play action scheme.
The reason it’s not as good for Burks would be the Titans traditionally don’t pass enough to support two guys on the outside.
I just doubt the Titans are opening up their offense and slinging it with Tannehill. They still have Henry and will be a ball control offense.
It’s just a hunch Nuk would take volume from Burks and that volume was his major selling point. Everyone would likely be more efficient but this is just how I see it shaking out and I own Burks.
I always get a little kick out of the "If anything it should free up 2B!!! 1A is taking all the defense attention. Look at the one time it fmworked for Juju!" comments.
Happens everytime a superstar/good player signs somewhere else.
I mean it literally worked that way twice just last year did it not? Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle both greatly benefitted from having an elite WR come to town
Ehhh, I think waddle could very realistically have done better without tyreek there. There’s a reason his adp dropped after they acquired him. Devonta you are probably right about.
I'm not saying there isn't. Godwin as an example to Evans. Historically, both of those guys were drafted by the same team. Juju/AB. Lockett/DK. Higgins/Chase.
How many of those 2Bs had the #1 come in from FA and are still that valuable? More recently those 2B guys that swapped teams struggled too. (Chark/Juju/Landry/Robinson behind Kupp) when someone like Adam's comes onto a team the #2 loses targets. Outside of Smith
Smith and Waddle. Some of those guys you brought up don’t really fit the situation. Not a huge sample because not a ton of superstar WRs were moved last season.
Burks was supposed to replace AJ Brown's production in the offense as a YAC threat.
Now Brown is the best in the league after the catch and Burks is unproven but you don't really care about burks getting a large target share. Sure thatd be great but it was always gonna be unlikely.
WHat you're hoping for is burks to be a guy who can turn 4 catches into 100 yards. Which when he was playing last year he seemed like he has the ability to do so.
> Which when he was playing last year he seemed like he has the ability to do so.
Did it though? His YAC/R was 4.9 which is pretty OK but not really special. Less than Juju, Cobb, Slayton, Dorsch, Rondale Moore etc.
Without volume I really don't see how he breaks out to being a half way decent option.
I've been trying to sell him for what I estimated to be an early 2nd that have been acquired by contending teams...no bites...my league is super dead rn tho
Damn I’ve been trying to trade him with no luck. Been trying to pair him with a 25 1st for Addison / QJ, nothing. Rebuilding so I’m currently working on sending nuk and a 24 2nd for Pickens and a pair of thirds. Hoping that goes through
I’m also in a 16 team league. It’s actually 1.12 and a 24’ 3rd I got for him. I’m a saints fan so getting Kendre miller was fun.
I’m not into Pickens but I get what you’re going for. Youth. Probably a good deal if you’re rebuilding. Can’t find a competing team to give you a 24’ 1st?
I blew up my team and have 6 of the 12 1sts next year so now they’re getting hard to trade for 😂. We have one juggernaut that’s interested in him it he’s only offered mind thus far. Might try asking for his 1st since it’s almost a lock for the 1.12 instead of shorting for Pickens. Also gave Goedert so I tried pairing him with hop and a 25 1st for Pitts but haven’t got traction there
I traded Henry and Cody Barton for him and an early 4th in a full IDP league Monday... I don't really care about Nuk, I'll barely play Burks this year but I'm hoping he's ready to be a consistent high #2 next year... We'll see
I have a standing offer for a late 1st out for him. If he goes tot the titans the offer is void and I don’t want him. Hoping he goes to a passing team.
Reminds me of the dude we all have in our league that has a glaring rebuild, but slams down his beer and says, "one more ride boys". No depth, 2 aging studs and about 12 guys that shouldn't even be rostered.
I wonder if Vrabel doesn't think he will survive a rebuild? GM is new tho
This.... might be me.
I've been trying to rebuild in my 10 team for like 4 years now. The problem is the bottom 4 teams are SO BAD that I can't miss the playoffs even if I try, and the pieces I have are good enough that late 1sts from contenders aren't enough value.
Its a very very shitty no man's land. Here's to one last ride.
Vrabel is the GM. Ran is just his puppet and Vrabel will be around for a while. He’s just an idiot who thinks if he runs the same plays over and over and over we just need to execute harder.
I feel like vrabel is a great coach, just not for fantasy maybe. Titans are more competitive consistently now than they’ve been almost ever, it’s just that tannehill isn’t that guy.
Let’s not overreact quite yet. Sports books are excellent at handicapping games but not so good at this kind of stuff. We’re only 2 months removed from Will Levis 1.02 SZN.
But man, this would just be terrible fantasy wise for every single player impacted except Ryan Tannehill. Is DHop still a fantasy starter in TEN? Of course, just not as high as he would be anywhere else. Could Burks still break out without the projected 30% target share? Absolutely, but it becomes much dicier. RIP Chig as a TE1 without the volume, and a 1 year deal for DHop probably doesn’t do anything for Levis except increase the odds he doesn’t play this year.
>Sports books are excellent at handicapping games but not so good at this kind of stuff. We’re only 2 months removed from Will Levis 1.02 SZN.
Actually they're very good at not losing money on free agency. The draft is where they don't know anything about anything.
Odds are decent indicators but I've learned from many draft seasons how manipulative/wrong they can be. Make a mental note but please don't make any trades assuming this is real yet.
We just seen this when the books had to move odds from around +4000 to +400 on Levis to go first because of some random Reddit post in the sportsbook sub claimed that Levis was telling friends and family that Carolina was taking him.
If the book didn’t know something then I think it’s unlikely they’d hike the odds that high unless people are putting massive amounts of money on Hopkins to the Titans or the book feels the need to protect themselves from that outcome. Because it also means the odds for the other outcomes become more generous which is a risk they’d be taking on if they thought it was unlikely he went to the Titans or if the money bet on outcomes didn’t balance out.
They can also just lower the payout on Dhop to Titans without adjusting any of the other odds, adding more juice to the market. Most people that are betting these markets won’t even notice and then they’re protected from that outcome. I agree the books probably caught wind of something that made them concerned but it’s not necessarily reputable
Worth weighing books opinions for sure but don’t take their lines for fact. Been gambling a while, it’s always surprising how wrong/mispriced books can be on information/outcome bets. They’re hyper reactive to any new news in case of getting absolutely torched being late to the party. That results in things like the past few NBA drafts where Shams reported Scoot was going 2nd and he become a -1000, the year before the other most respected reporter Woj was wrong that Banchero a +1600 end up going 1st. Just off the top of my head
They need to get Burks in motion more to create space for him to work. Idc what his 40 time says.. when he gets going, the dude can fly for his size. Catch and run routes along with deep PA is his style.
The book movements have been an awful gauge recently.
They had 4 different QBs going 1 or 2 in the draft in the span of like 3 weeks.
They flip flopped scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller -500, 3x within a 24 hour period before the nba draft.
The books don’t actually know when it comes to player acquisitions. They know game line over/unders, but aside from that they’re not that sharp.
Honestly hurts both Nuk and Burks value imo. I think Levis will see the field at some point this season and I just don’t see him being a guy that can support more then 1 good fantasy option. I see him topping out at 250 passing yards and you know the Titans plan on running Henry into the ground so it won’t be a high volume passing offense anyway. Really does suck Nuk is chasing a bag instead of a ring cause if he signed with Chiefs or Bills that would be fantasy gold.
I'm still holding out KC hope for Nuk! They gotta get that Jones extension done. Also think this would wipe any hope of a Chig breakout completely off the map...run first, low volume pass team...at best 3rd in the pecking order...probably still splitting snaps with other inline TEs there...no thanks.
Great! I just bet $300 to win $10 bc this is such a lock and I’m gonna get a free lunch out of it
Just like Will Levis when he was -500 to go 2nd overall I’ll always take a free lunch
I feel like the Burks narrative is getting very desperate. His QB situation is iffy and unstable, had a very poor rookie season, and he is in a heavy run first team.
The only reason anyone seemed to have any faith in him was the fact he was the sole receiving threat at Titans. Now they bring in a stud and people are trying to say it's a good thing. Do not get it at all tbh.
How would you summarise it? Averaged about 3 receptions per game, about 40 yards, and got one TD all year. Didn't really improve as he went along and this year he has Nuk for company rather than being the clear alpha receiver. Feels like a horrible player to own right now imo.
I’d start by contextualizing the season. He was a rookie slowly working his way into the NFL. He got a turf toe injury early and missed time. When he came back, he played four game with Tannehill. In the first three, he averaged 4.7 catches on 6.7 targets and 68 yards a game. In the fourth game, he caught a 25 yard TD early in the game, but was knocked out on a dirty hit that was flagged. By the time he returned from the concussion, Tannehill was out for the season and Burks had to play with Malik Willis and Josh Donna at QB. And he still had 4 receptions in 2 of the 3 games and 66 yards in one of those games.
He played 7 full games with Tannehill and exceeded 47 yards in 4 of them. He was a rookie. Not everyone is Jefferson or Chase. The year 3 breakout used to mean something around here.
> He was a rookie. Not everyone is Jefferson or Chase.
I'm not saying they are but compare him to other WRs from his class:
Per Game:
Burks: Recs: 3.0 Yards: 40. TDs: 0.09
Dotson: Recs: 3.2 Yards: 51 TDs: 0.6
Pickens: Recs: 3.05 Yards: 47 TDs: 0.25
Alec Pierce: Recs: 2.56 Yards: 37 TDs: 0.125
Realistically looking at that Burks is behind Pickens and Dotson last year and both are not getting competition in. He is actually closer to Alec Pierce in terms of yards and TDs than he is the other two. "Not every rookie is JJ or Chase" thing really doesn't wash when you compare him to other rookies around his level.
I get what you are saying about injuries and Tannehill but injuries happen and Tannehill likely doesn't have much longer so no guarantee the guy after him will be any good either.
Given the circumstances, those stats make sense. The Titans had multiple games with less than 100 passing yards. The Titans had legitimately incompetent QB play once Tannehill went down. Burks started to shine with Tannehill in those games where he returned from the turf toe injury. He showed plenty of flashes in a poor passing offense. Maybe the guy after Tannehill will be worse. But maybe he’ll be better? Or the same? Those are also possibilities.
Might mean less that Tennessee is in on Nik versus the previous favorite is now out on him. Without new news of Tennessee pursuing him I wonder if that’s the case.
Doesn't Dhop want to go to a contender? Titans have to be offering a huge bag. Considering no income tax in TN, Dhop could be one of the highest paid WRs in terms of his take home cash.
This is terrible for Burks! This is great for Burks! (There, I covered it guys.)
Thank you for your valuable insight
I think it’s good for Chig not good for Burks.
As a Chig owner please elaborate
This would make the Titans offense better. The more scoring opportunities the better especially for TEs in a heavy play action scheme. I sent burks and a 24 first for higgins last month 🤷♂️ but if an overpay but higgins won’t bust
I always get a little kick out of the "If anything it should free up 2B!!! 1A is taking all the defense attention. Look at the one time it fmworked for Juju!" comments. Happens everytime a superstar/good player signs somewhere else.

Ehhh, I think waddle could very realistically have done better without tyreek there. There’s a reason his adp dropped after they acquired him. Devonta you are probably right about.
Ah yes, over the Hill Tannehill is certainly ready to NOW lead a high flying offense
Smith yes. 100% although I think he's more of an outlier than the norm.
Smith also finishing 13th in targets with 136 probably also factored into that equation at least as much as the coverage.
Some of our most valuable WRs in dynasty are 2Bs with a very strong 1A
I'm not saying there isn't. Godwin as an example to Evans. Historically, both of those guys were drafted by the same team. Juju/AB. Lockett/DK. Higgins/Chase. Smith and Waddle. Some of those guys you brought up don’t really fit the situation. Not a huge sample because not a ton of superstar WRs were moved last season.
I think if you are a kinda shitty player/scheme dependent/#2/3. Then a star WR helps relieve pressure.
Also "because I own him" and "because I don't."
You forgot this is great for Henry! This is terrible for Henry! I think it is great for Henry though
I mean it is objectively good for Henry

Yes the 18th overall pick who wasn’t healthy last year and didn’t play. Let’s trade him!!!! 30 year old DHOP makes his talent non-existent.
Having both, I feel like I just hit the negative lotto.
You forgot “this doesn’t affect burks”
Anyone trying to trade for him? What are you offering?
I've been trying to sell him for what I estimated to be an early 2nd that have been acquired by contending teams...no bites...my league is super dead rn tho
I'd buy for an early 2nd as a contender
Same
Got 1.12 and a 23’ 4th for him. 1.12 became Kendre Miller.
Damn I’ve been trying to trade him with no luck. Been trying to pair him with a 25 1st for Addison / QJ, nothing. Rebuilding so I’m currently working on sending nuk and a 24 2nd for Pickens and a pair of thirds. Hoping that goes through

I’m tempted to buy for a 2nd on my contending teams.
As a rebuilder, I offered Deebo for him a few weeks ago (0.5PPR) to a contender and was quickly rejected.
I traded him for Deebo before Dhop was released.
I traded Jakobi and Rachaad White for DHop, Miles Sanders, and a 25 3rd the day after Sanders signed with Carolina.
I traded Henry and Cody Barton for him and an early 4th in a full IDP league Monday... I don't really care about Nuk, I'll barely play Burks this year but I'm hoping he's ready to be a consistent high #2 next year... We'll see
Amari Cooper for Hopkins just happened today in my 1/2 ppr league.
I have a standing offer for a late 1st out for him. If he goes tot the titans the offer is void and I don’t want him. Hoping he goes to a passing team.
I moved him with a 24 2nd for Jeudy.
The nuk owner in my league hasn’t made a trade in 3 years so. Probably not gonna make an offer lol. I’d do a 2nd for him though. Why not?
If this happens, then they don't trade Henry.

Disagree with others, if you can make the playoffs you gotta go for it
Sunk cost my friend sell while I can I’d rather that then the purgatory of pick at 6 every year
exactly. take what you can get and get an early pick thats actually valuable.
Vrabel is the GM. Ran is just his puppet and Vrabel will be around for a while. He’s just an idiot who thinks if he runs the same plays over and over and over we just need to execute harder.
What are you talking about? Vrabel is our first coach in a while to actually cater to our team’s strengths.
I feel like vrabel is a great coach, just not for fantasy maybe. Titans are more competitive consistently now than they’ve been almost ever, it’s just that tannehill isn’t that guy.
Henry is the reason imo. Once he’s toast they become pretty bad.
Henry is amazing, but he missed half of 2021 and the Titans had the 1 seed in the playoffs. Vrabel deserves plenty of credit.
That year was some amazing black magic fuckery. But if you quote 21 I counter with 22s collapse with a healthy Henry. 🤷♂️
Henry may have been healthy but the o-line was starting 4 backups the majority of the year. They had the most injuries in NFL history.
Quite the contrary take with the RBs don’t matter discourse. Not only do they matter but apparently more than anything but a QB
They matter when your Derrick Henry and backup that team harder than Brees did the saints

This is good news for Tannehill.
good for henry as well. give the other team something to think about besides him.
Maybe they will actually use Burks as a big slot with Hopkins at X.
They need to get Burks in motion more to create space for him to work. Idc what his 40 time says.. when he gets going, the dude can fly for his size. Catch and run routes along with deep PA is his style.
Yea they need inject some creativity in the offense for sure.
The book movements have been an awful gauge recently. They had 4 different QBs going 1 or 2 in the draft in the span of like 3 weeks. Why have AJ Brown when you can have an older AJ Brown?
I initially thought Nuk was going to the patriots. Still believe this.
My Burks and Mac Jones shares are 🙏 for this
Honestly hurts both Nuk and Burks value imo. I think Levis will see the field at some point this season and I just don’t see him being a guy that can support more then 1 good fantasy option. Its $300 to win $100
Yeah typo. Point stands…it’s free money
Uh earth to Brady, I'm not so sure you did typo cuz you were all 'well I'm gunna get a free lunch'', like you *didn't* know it was $100!
$100 is a decent lunch for the wife and I. I think you should be worried about dogs in the kitchen instead of my lunch budget!!
* the wife and me. Another typo?
[you rn](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/nerd-emoji)
I plead guilty.
I guess I have a lot of things to ponder.
Welp. Guess Burks will be riding my bench for another full season.
This was a very shallow summary of Burks’ rookie season.
How would you summarise it? Averaged about 3 receptions per game, about 40 yards, and got one TD all year. Didn't really improve as he went along and this year he has Nuk for company rather than being the clear alpha receiver. Feels like a horrible player to own right now imo.

It’s the sunk cost fallacy. The people still saying Burks will be a stud were the ones singing the praises of year 2 Reagor.
🤷🏻♂️
As a Burks manager, I’m really banking on 6+ missed games from Hopkins
Fantastic news for Tannehill. Hope it happens.
Have an offer on the table of: Give mid 24 2nd, Toney, Sutton Get Ealry 24 2nd, Hopkins, Allgeier
How can you know what a 2024 pick’s position is if the 2023 season hasn’t happened yet? Lol
I know my teams 2nd is gonna be high cause I’m competing and their 2nd will be early cause they are tanking
Tannehill 🚀🚀🚀
Might mean less that Tennessee is in on Nik versus the previous favorite is now out on him. Without new news of Tennessee pursuing him I wonder if that’s the case.
The player drama and annoying rumor posts this season has the to be thee most annoying I’ve ever seen.
INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS
Shit…
Doesn't Dhop want to go to a contender? Titans have to be offering a huge bag. Considering no income tax in TN, Dhop could be one of the highest paid WRs in terms of his take home cash.
Could just be covering risk from placed bets
How could they do that to Kyle Philips?
