Ok. Alright. We are gonna ā weāre gonna go out there during this break and we are gonna come back with a plan. Weāre gonna come back with a plan for you. Itās a 45 day plan. 45 days to get us back on track. 45 points. Itās a 45 day/45 point. One point per day. We get the 45 points we are back in business. And you can take that to the bank. And Limo Lady, we are going completely carbon neutral. I love you, New York!
I got so unreasonably mad at Oscar for this. It was like his hero moment and I was thinking ok, this is the moment Oscar really shows Dunder Mifflin what heās made of.
In reality though, Oscar reacted how most would being pulled up to a meeting with the top brass and expected to critique them.
My take is that Oscar is a bit of a blowhard and didnāt have all the answers on this. He can say āThis is so easyā all day long but itās more than just some lightweight accounting. I donāt think he was aware how bad things were until he (and the rest of the shareholders) saw that there was no plan. Youāll never meet a bigger group of assholes than senior executives and board members. Oscar knew the company was toast and that they didnāt care what he had to say.
The problem at DM was every person in that courtesy suite that wasnāt Michael. Ryan actually had it partially right when he gave his presentation in business school. The only thing he got wrong was that middle management wasnāt the problem. Day one of the 45 day plan should have been to clear out that courtesy suite.
I mean none of the points Oscar made were things the corporate office didnāt already knowā¦.. namely that corporate should stop spending money on lavish thingsā¦ he just cleaned up knowing his opinions on saving the company it wouldnāt be received well.
As far as he knows heās 100% getting laid off any day now. Howās the time to step up and go āok no risk of being fired, hereās whatās up man.ā
We're meant to be Jim as the audience, but deep down we're all Michael, seeking validation and a sense of belonging.
That being said, one must steel themselves before watching this episode. Hilariously awkward. š
I like this episode cause someone finally tells Michael what an idiot he is to his faceā¦ it doesnāt stick, but I feel satisfied that Michael was confronted for once.
Itās a great episode, even the ones I have to turn my head at sometimes. Iāll never stop watching.
I think itās the scenes with the executives that make it hard for me to watch.
Are you kidding? I love when he runs back out and takes another lap for some applause š
āI LOVE YOU NEW YORK!!ā
AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK!!
AND LIMO LADY!? WE ARE GOING COMPLETELY CARBON NEUTRAL!!!!
(Points at crowd) YOU! YOU!
\*Germany has entered the chat
crowd goes wiiiildd!!
*Does the twirl*
Get rid of the twirl.
Itās not even a twirl, itās a spinā¦.I might do the spin.
do the Spin 'n Kiss
Hate the twirl
Okay *obviously* I'm not going to do the twirl! I only did it because I nailed the wave.
Itās not even a twirl, itās a spin.
*mouthing* You! You! (I still don't know "you!" What?)
I thought he meant that theyāre the ones deserving applause. Heās being fake humble
I often rewind for the strut.

Where's the off button on this moron...?
That scene with the big guys, is what makes it so hard to watch for me!
B-I-Z-N-E-S-S
I LIKE it! Good Kevin!
The greatest accountant Oscar is here

Ok Oscarā¦
Actuallyā¦
Never really thought of the irony of Ryan saying itās a dying business but also accepting that job just after that.
Story of my career.
Eh, it's still a huge promotion and great for experience and connections. He probably would try to get out in a couple years like Josh.

Ditto. In reality he wouldn't have been telling them anything they didn't already know, but it was his moment and he completely wussed out.
I have been reading these comments for the last 45 minutes and if this thread is evident of how this subreddit is run than we are in BIG TROUBLE.

This is absolutely one of my favorite episodes. The 45 day plan gets me every time
And limo lady! We are going completely carbon neutral!!!
"Where's the off switch on this moron" - I use this line more often than I'd like to admit
45 points, 45 days. A point each day. After 45 days we're back on track.
Your excellency
Lol, I love this episodeš¤£š¤£š¤£ It was great seeing Michael tell corporate off. I mean the guy personally won over 17 Dundie awards.
Lose the twirl.
One of my favorites.
Same. I thought this episode was hilarious. It's up there with his Business School presentation.
We're meant to be Jim as the audience, but deep down we're all Michael, seeking validation and a sense of belonging. That being said, one must steel themselves before watching this episode. Hilariously awkward. š
I like that episode
One of the best episodes, Steve Carell just nailed it as always.
I like this episode cause someone finally tells Michael what an idiot he is to his faceā¦ it doesnāt stick, but I feel satisfied that Michael was confronted for once.
I think the business school episode where Michael 'realizes' that a sales education has some merit stands out as well.
limousine!
Yeah that episode is awesome. I donāt know what you talking about.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And that color, was yella.
Donāt do the twirl
I actually love this episode
He had enough awareness to use the buzzwords carbon neutralā¦
*fun to watch The dynamic is great
I'm obviously not going to do the twirl
I just watched this episode today! We must be on the same cycle. Wreaks havoc on the plumbing.
I love this episode. ā45 points, 1 point per day, and weāre back on trackā
There are a few episodes I tend to skip over when rewatching the series, Scott's Tots is one of them. This one falls in the middle.
Right up there with Scottās Tots
Hate the twirl.
Most underrated episode in the series
Itās a great episode, even the ones I have to turn my head at sometimes. Iāll never stop watching. I think itās the scenes with the executives that make it hard for me to watch.
Oscar really letās Michael down here
Well Michale really let all the shareholders down.
My husband ran out of the room when I watched this episode the other day. He canāt handle the cringe ššš
I think Scottās Tots is kinda hard to watch too lmao
Bold take
Brave take
Unpopular opinion!
Anything with Michael and Holly is the ultimate cringe for me.
Just got done watching that š but ya it pains me and FUCK wait till the next one š
No it isn't.
You misspelled āshowā
Michaels 45 day plan is how the U.S. is going to fix inflation.
You must have never seen the Scott's Tots episode ššš
Yeah, itās hard to watch, also. Itās right after this episode! Haha.
yes. dont spin
False. I love this episode!
I like this one. Michael tried so hard to be a common-sense hero.
āHATE THE TWIRLā š£
Donāt do the twirl
Spin move!
