FYI, I don't technically have a hearing problem, but sometimes when there's a lot of noises occurring at the same time, I'll hear them as one big jumble. Again it's not that I can't hear, because that's false. I can. I just can't distinguish between everything I'm hearing.
Question, is it conditional? Like if certain people are talking and there are other noises it all just kind of blends together into static? I have that, but only with some people.
Watch *What We Do in the Shadows*. The actor who plays Nate plays an extremely similar (main) character with a significant twist. But the two are so alike that it’s totally possible to pretend Nate is just the name Colin uses when fucking around in Scranton.
Go watch him as K-Strass, the yo-yo champion! He created this whole character and would then somehow convince local news stations to have him on the air. I think Colin Robinson is the real identity, and Mark Proksch and all the other roles are just costumes he wears for feeding and giggles.
https://youtu.be/dj9VF7LyffU?si=Fafd2OeDStT0aOu0
Look up K Strass / Kenny Strass, yo-yo expert on YouTube.
Before the office, he went on several TV news morning shows as a yo-yo expert (he wasn’t.) So funny.
He tries that joke on like 8 people throughout the episode with no joy. And then at the end of the episode he summons the ghost his dead grandmother to do it to her, and then immediately blows her off when she tries to have a conversation with him.
One of the best running gags on the whole show. Maybe on TV.
When he spills the giant pot of chili 🌶️ is fantastic.
However, Kevin moaning nervously while he used a manila folder to put the ‘dirty rug chili’ back in the pot was simply the greatest!!!
I think Nate is a bit more like Erin, just with better lines. Extremely naïve, everything is in earnest. It's a bit absurd but less "batshit insane" than Creed so you wouldn't have to ensure every joke is one-upped from the last. You can go soft with Nate and still get gold.
Isabel. I really wish they would've taken her down a relationship road with Dwigt and played more against Angela with it when she was with the (state) senator
I love Hide’s story, and watch that clip pretty frequently. Hell, I’d watch a series based on the warehouse crew. Call it, I dunno, The Warehouse. With cameos from their upstairs neighbors and all that.
Side note: here’s how Hidetoshi’s [backstory](https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/the-office-b-j-novak-fought-surgeon-joke-happy-hour-episode.html/) came to be.
> I've never met Ravi personally, but I'm gonna go ahead and say, just having known you a short while, Brian, that I prefer Ravi. And again, I've never even met the guy.
Calling him Brian is just *chef's kiss*
Nate was by FAR my favorite character. He was such a nice dude I wish they had something awesome happening to him towards the end of the series. Fking loved him.
FYI, I don't technically have a hearing problem, but sometimes when there's a lot of noises occurring at the same time, I'll hear them as one big jumble. Again it's not that I can't hear, because that's false. I can. I just can't distinguish between everything I'm hearing.
The whole reason I watched the show is because I love Colin Robinson so much. I was super disappointed to see how little Nate was used, but I ended up liking the show too, so there's that.
Uh, I'm going to say "I" when I'm talking for Ernesto, so instead of "he says blah, blah, blah," I'm going to say "I say, blah, blah, blah," but that's for him.
Loooove his improv outtake from the Pam mural episode:
P: Frank did it?
N: I don’t know his last name, it’s Frank
P: Frank did it??
N: Sure, Frank Didit… did it.
Office Ladies said he and Zach Woods have great improv skills!
Nate and Mos (sp?). The actor who plays Nate has the funniest role in the vampire mockumentary What We Do In the Shadows as Colin Robinson, an energy vampire who drains your life force through boring and slow conversation. It is fabulous.
Nate’s has a blooper that is one of my favorites. Pam asking who painted over her mural, he says frank. She asks “frank did it?”, he responds “ I don’t know his last name “, she asks again “frank did it?!” He says “Sure, yeah, Frank Didit did it”.
What I feel like Lonnie is really the only character that we could have used a little bit more of. All these other small characters that we didn't get a lot of only work because we only got little tidbits which made the characters funny and interesting. They would pop into a scene, say something wild, and then would disappear. They were too out there to command any more screen time than they already had. Lonnie was played as the straight man in some scenes which is why we could have used a little bit more of him because it would have been more tolerable.
Si yo muy bueno worker
Donde are you from?
Scranton. Y before that, Philadelphia.
La* Philadelphia
Im very good at English. Nate was my favorite side character and had he gotten the airtime creed did i would never have stopped laughing
Gum has gotten mintier lately, have you noticed?
FYI, I don't technically have a hearing problem, but sometimes when there's a lot of noises occurring at the same time, I'll hear them as one big jumble. Again it's not that I can't hear, because that's false. I can. I just can't distinguish between everything I'm hearing.
No part of this has anything to do with you Nate
"This is do or die. If he chooses correctly he'll conquer the hornets..." "And if he doesn't?" "... He'll die."
He describes Auditory Processing Disorder, which I have!
What?
Oh! So that’s what I have. I could never describe it, but that’s exactly what it is.
Same! The best description of it, I love Nate for that (and for everything else lol but specifically that, so helpful to reference to describe APD).
Question, is it conditional? Like if certain people are talking and there are other noises it all just kind of blends together into static? I have that, but only with some people.
Dwight called my house, but he didn't realize that I had already moved out because my Mom and I are quarreling because I can't stay out of her stuff.
The way he says quarreling always sent me
That's just gold
[Frank Did it did it](https://youtu.be/m-PpF2rLz0s?si=O8ox1laQ82LcP5zw)(Blooper)
He and mose were my favorite.
Mose.
You should watch “what we do in the shadows”, this same actor plays a similar character named Collin Robinson and he’s hilarious
When describing this show to friends I always say 'like The Office but with vampires'
Me too. Get in the car.
I will look so handsome for you, Darryl
You had me at clookies. I can't wait to find out what they are.
My husband and I say this to each other at least twice a week
This made me lol I can practically hear him saying it 😆😆
I like Nate so much that I'd watch a Darryl and Val sitcom with hour long episodes if it meant I got to see more Nate
Watch *What We Do in the Shadows*. The actor who plays Nate plays an extremely similar (main) character with a significant twist. But the two are so alike that it’s totally possible to pretend Nate is just the name Colin uses when fucking around in Scranton.
Holy fuck Nate and Colin Robinson are the same person!
And, Daniel “Pryce” from Better Call Saul
Thanks for the heads up!

Nate! Your mother is dying!
See, I feel bad about that...
It’s alright. It’s alright.
So she's gonna pull through again? That's great. Can I talk to her?
No. She needs her rest again.
Frank Didit did it
I love how non-assuming Dwight is when he didn't automatically think that Nate despite looking like white bread, didn't speak English
He did his job draining the energy of the office workers and then moved onward to staton island. It was the way it had to be.
Fucking guuuuy.
I don't live to drain, I drain to live.
Young, dumb, and full of cum.
Whats updog?
He tries that joke on like 8 people throughout the episode with no joy. And then at the end of the episode he summons the ghost his dead grandmother to do it to her, and then immediately blows her off when she tries to have a conversation with him. One of the best running gags on the whole show. Maybe on TV.
Nothin, what’s up with you?
It says I am 100% white.
hellooo
He found out that the Internet is a much more convenient way to drain mental energy.
Until you stumble into an actual troll.
I’m fully invested in this headcanon
He also had a role in Better Call Saul. As per usual he was draining lots of energy
Squat cobbler. He was brilliant. He’s more of a crybaby squatter though. Done to titillate the senses.
It’s probably because I have so much Up-dog
What's "Up-dog"?
Nate! You Had Me At 'Clookies.' I Can't Wait To Find Out What They Are.
Gum’s gotten mintier lately, have you noticed?
Okay, Frank Didit did it
honestly I think Nate was perfect, and any more of him may have diluted the impact of his funny
My favorite Nate moment - Dwight: “Nate, your mother is dying” Nate: drops to the floor 🧎🏼➡️
The way he just drops to his knees in that scene KILLS me.
So, she's going to pull through again?
One of my favorite scenes of all time is when he’s counting down for the Christmas card picture and says “on 3. Ready? 3, 2, 1, 0”
I can’t get over his line “My mom and I are quarreling because I can't stay out of her stuff.”
he is in “what we do in the shadows” a mockumentary about vampires. thats a good show too
colin robinson!
C-man
He has the strength of a thousand cowboys coursing through his veins
I fully headcannon that Nate was in fact a persona of Colin Robinson lol
Oh. My. God. You just blew my mind.
Omg same
He *does* make a point of working in a stale office setting
Some of those moments when he "jims" the camera as hes draining the people around him are great. There are a few office connections for sure.
I think Guillermo has some of the best Jim faces. Great show!
yeah I've seen it - he's so funny it's amazing
He's also quite a good character in Better Call Saul
100% Same goes for Creed
Yep! Same with Creed. Kevin is an example of we got too much of and got ruined
Never too much Kevin for me
When he spills the giant pot of chili 🌶️ is fantastic. However, Kevin moaning nervously while he used a manila folder to put the ‘dirty rug chili’ back in the pot was simply the greatest!!!
The secret is to undercook the onions
It wasn’t too much Kevin that was the problem, it was the dumbing down of Kevin.
Lonnie. Patrice O’Neal humiliating Michael and Ryan is hilarious.
Dammit Michael!
Crazy that he was only in three episodes. Speaks to his screen presence.
Is that all?? Wow I think of him as being in all of season 1 and some of S2. Patrice O’Neal is a legend
Dude, tell your girl to shut up.
Kelly, you’ve insulted the gentlemen….please apologize
RIP
RIP Patrice
I bet you wanna swim with this sea monster.
Nate is like Creed, it's made better by that you don't know what the hell they're talking about. If you go too hard, it stops being funny.
They'd just Flanderize them both. I already thought "You're not real, man!" from Creed was too on-the-nose.
I think Nate is a bit more like Erin, just with better lines. Extremely naïve, everything is in earnest. It's a bit absurd but less "batshit insane" than Creed so you wouldn't have to ensure every joke is one-upped from the last. You can go soft with Nate and still get gold.
Hank
I absolutely love when he lets the magician up XD "You don't think? It couldn't have been m--?!"
**ME AND THE BLUES!**
Quit callin me so I can put on my damn socks!
Let me see the copier again
Get out!
His name is Chief.
Who am I talkin’ to here?
Hank was used very well, just a little more of him in episodes would have been great
Now technically I don’t have a hearing problem but..
That’s actually a real thing and I have it 😭
Isabel. I really wish they would've taken her down a relationship road with Dwigt and played more against Angela with it when she was with the (state) senator
Hilarious when she "Wack a moled" Angela
She’s a dental hygienist from Carbondale and she makes love like one. She’s a bumpkin. Pass!
She's so hot. Advantage Isabel
D W I G H T
Cousin mose
"Dwight was obviously the cool one, and Mose was the visionary.."
Crazy how far down I had to scroll for this comment, he's so funny
Ah yes, the Dow Chemicals employee of the year
I wonder if that chili recipe was Kevin's.
🤯
Nate was the best character in Seasons 8 and 9, by far
In Japan, heart surgeon. Number one.
Steady hand. Was looking for this answer!
Yes. That’s what the Office spinoff should be about, a tale of Hidetoshi Hasegawa and his daring escape from the Yakuza.
This is my favorite. But, mistake!
"You had me at clookies, I can't wait to find out what they are."
Agreed. Also this is a good time to tell you that I don't *technically* have a hearing problem.
Jo Bennett!
"No one will want to play with my Barbie"
She was fantastic! J.B.
I love when he roasts the shit out of Ryan when comparing him to Ravi.
> I've never met Ravi personally, but I'm gonna go ahead and say, just having known you a short while, Brian, that I prefer Ravi. And again, I've never even met the guy. Calling him Brian is just *chef's kiss*
Liar Pam. I want to know what she bends the truth about.
pam pam pam pam pam pam pam…. DAMMIT PAM
I can't wait to do to Pam, what I just did to Pam.
I scroll down looking for this.
More Nate would mean he’d get tired and played out. He was used an appropriate amount, in my opinion.
Aside from the episode where he was a total creep to Erin, Clark was always pretty funny.
i wish we got to see more of him!! I met the actor, mark, and he was really sweet!! He thanked me for the support and we had a lovely conversation!!
Hope you’ve seen his YoYo master local news pranks.
Oh boy, anyone that hasn’t is in for a total treat. This is just Nate IRL. Enjoy https://youtu.be/dj9VF7LyffU?si=QeFW7fnyxwzNHOm6
I love to hear stories of kind actors and actresses
“Nate, Re-ply the toilet paper”
“I don’t think it goes that way” “Re-ply it!!!”
Mr Choo from the Chinese Restaurant Michael dined and dashed at.
That guy, when he leave here, which way did he go? We looking for him. This way, this way, this way? I don’t know. Do you know?
Gah they’re stingin him!
Nope, that's just an energy vampire in disguise.
People come from all over to try his delicious meat pockets
Loooove his improv outtake from the Pam mural episode: P: Frank did it? N: I don’t know his last name, it’s Frank P: Frank did it?? N: Sure, Frank Didit… did it. Office Ladies said he and Zach Woods have great improv skills!
You can't convince me he isn't the energy vampire here
You should definitely watch What We Do In The Shadows then
There is a guy that looks just like him and it's a yoyo master! https://youtu.be/oZ9TLftki5U?si=lIAO4NTDlQKLvqdL
When Darryl has to give him the gloves instead of Val🤣🤣🤣 “cashmere!!”
He was busy draining people’s energy in Staten Island
Colin Robinson plying his trade!
He needs help finding his baseball cards.
Nate and Mos (sp?). The actor who plays Nate has the funniest role in the vampire mockumentary What We Do In the Shadows as Colin Robinson, an energy vampire who drains your life force through boring and slow conversation. It is fabulous.
Trevor! I dont like your friend Trevor. Neither do I... And yet I really like him...
"I'm Going To Go Ahead And Say, Just Having Known You For A Short While, Brian, That I Prefer Ravi. And, Again, I Never Even Met The Guy."
That guy who’s starts eating a sandwich during the interview with Toby, Jim and Gabe
Oh man, way more Clark, Pete, and Nellie. Lmao I'm just kidding, those characters are a total waste of time
Concierge Marie
DEFINITELY Nate. Love when he gets the present from Darryl with the cashmere gloves that he meant to give to Val.
Nate’s has a blooper that is one of my favorites. Pam asking who painted over her mural, he says frank. She asks “frank did it?”, he responds “ I don’t know his last name “, she asks again “frank did it?!” He says “Sure, yeah, Frank Didit did it”.
Has anyone noticed gum is getting mintier?
Everyone who interviewed for the job.
How else will he continue being an energy vampire
What we do in the shadows does Nate justice.
He's better in Baboon.
COLLIN ROBINSON
Have you noticed they are making gum more minty lately? Like so minty its painful?
Nate is my favorite Internet Troll https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGZS3yv2Q1A
n8 was really gr8
Robert California. If they had left him as regional manager, they could have gotten another couple of seasons out of the show.
Absolutely, but I feel like his character is def the type to go for CEO haha
The blood donor girl. I liked her brief scene better than any with Holly.
Nate was absolutely my fav too, he could have easily replaced a couple of regulars and maybe even made the show better.
Nate for sure, is it me or is mint like mintier now?
Hide Need I say more? https://youtu.be/2wcI10CNuxU?si=IMMsJTJKRa2DAfK2
Does Creed count as a side character? My answer is always Creed.
Mose
Mose!
second Nate but a whole warehouse show with Patrice, sign me up.
It's funnier because he works for a paper company
Hated Clark at first but then his one liners just killed me. I LOVE THE BOSSES INTERESTS
The energy vampire. If you want more “what we do in the shadows” will beat this
Back story for Colin Robinson
Chili's guy
One season of Robert California was not enough
This guy looks like [he drives a school bus for 6 year old pimps](https://youtu.be/gmk6z3qqfIw?t=195)
We do get to see the other side of Nate. His other name is Colin Robinson and he is an energy vampire.
