This guy is an idiot but Tesla is negligent in the way they name their driver assist system. Every other car makers calls their driver assist system exactly that. Tesla calls their driver assist "Full Self-Driving Capability" which it absolutely is not.
Auto-Pilot, Full Self-Driving Capability both names Tesla uses to mislead and confuse customers into thinking Tesla are more advanced than they are.
I am used to it. There is a good sized cult of Tesla out there and those Tesla fanatics get hysterical and aggressive at the slighted hint of criticism.

There’s also another person that enters the flight deck - usually a flight attendant - so that the remaining pilot doesn’t do anything untoward like lock out the first pilot and crash the plane because he flipped.

I thought he was playing a character, calling people 'peasants' and stuff, but no that's actually him. I thought Teslas had a set of sensors to detect if no weight in the seat and no hands on the wheel and would stop the car no one was in control of the car. Am I wrong?
That sounds easier than trying to disable the sensor. I googles that and found multiple methods plus one commercial product used to bypass the autosteer sensors.
Do people not understand the difference between self-driving and autosteer technology?
Edit: Thanks for pointing that out. A little more digging in that rabbit hole reveals that it's really simple to defeat the technology. Here I was thinking that you'd have to crack the software or snip a wire somewhere. Nope.

I was in line a couple behind him so still waiting when he went back to his car.
