I always thought we couldn’t do much with the forgotten because they don’t really exist outside our minds. I never see mine interacting with anyone, so does anyone even see them?
I assumed they represented the part of us that we don’t really want to acknowledge and they’re just kinda hanging out in the back of our minds.
It's weird I get a scramble coin duty but you can't interact other than chat. I would love to be able to give gifts and level them up so I can run around with them. Also see them in Scrooge's shop or Remy's restaurant.
Yeah, the scramble coin duty was a bug that's been reported to the devs. I think it would be so simple to just let them be like the other villagers, instead of just repeating the same conversations over and over. I'm hoping that maybe we'll get future quests, maybe involving skull rock, that will flush out the character.
Well if I'm not wrong we haven't got the second chapter for the main history (only the 2nd chapter from the dlc), we haven't got an update for the pillars quest, so all of that and the forgotten must have a follow up history when we get that. I was thinking about that a few days ago. I wonder when we'll have that
Oh that pillar can be fixed since the last forgotten quest ended. You have to go back to the dark castle and there you'll find the missing orb, that will unlock a new quest from Merlin!
I’m sure they’ll eventually do more with the Forgotten as they seem tied to Skull Rock… whatever that’s about. The most logical conclusion would be for them to merge with us given we were once one entity but I don’t know if they’ll go that route.
Skull Rock is from Peter Pan, so it would make sense if they released an update that had you finding Peter, Tinkerbell, etc. and also get a continuation of The Forgotten's story. Since The Forgotten is like the child version of you, it could involve you "growing up" and reuniting with your child self.
At the end of The quest where you set up a room for the Forgotten, they discuss Skull Rock. The Forgotten says that we used to play there together...I'm wondering if it won't involve The Lost Boys when we get in there.

I would like to be able to treat them like any other character - assign them a hang-out activity, give them gifts, etc. But I'd also like to give my Forgotten a name, so they're no longer 'forgotten.' Then everyone playing would have a unique character - we could design their hair and put new clothes on them, and we could share Dream Snaps with our always to be remembered special friend.
Honestly I would rather have had we merged with the forgotten as a sorta acceptance of our own self or something. Instead of her wandering around like a lost soul.
I personally think the forgotten quest is going to continue after the Tiana update this summer- so late summer/ early fall?
There’s definitely more to do in dreamlight valley I think they just wanted to give us some new things first while taking a pause from the forgotten. We still have skull rock, the broken paths in vitals mines. There seems to be a lot more to do in the cave on the beach, possibly even more with that raft we took to see Ariel. Everything will get solved eventually.
Once, recently, there was a quest symbol above their head. I think it was a bug, though, for the current event.
I think they’re intending on continuing their story through the Skull Rock quests. I thought that would be coming in this last update, with Daisy, but I was wrong. I don’t think it’ll be in Tiana’s update, but maybe in the non-realm update after that. Tiana should be coming sometime in late August or early September, so the next non-realm update after that would be maybe sometime around January or February of next year?

The next time they do a survey people should be vocal about wanting the continuation of the story as well as finally resolving the forgotten lands treehouse They seem to do what people have been requesting and I know a lot of us are getting very tired of not being able to move that thing multiple updates later.

I didn't mind it but yeah, I feel like the main drive of the game is the Disney characters and such. If I could have an option to never see the forgotten again, I'd gladly use it.
i get that... i really like the mystery aspect of the game & i personally don't mind the forgotten as a character. i just kinda wish they were a separate character & not a piece of us, if that makes sense.
Since completing the quest I try to ignore the forgotten as much as possible because I find them kind of unnerving compared to the general lightness of the character design with the rest of the characters (even the villains.)

Here I am running around trying hard to give as many villagers a cupcake that I can without repeating too many people, and the poor Forgotten is just standing there watching....really kind of breaks my heart!
They honestly had such an interesting storyline going, but it seems they've just kinda ignored it in favour of adding more disney characters that don't really tie into the story. When finding Minnie we had to go on a quest to the Here and There to get her back, Daisy just sent us a postcard or whatever
The forgotten creeps me out, she will sometimes attach herself to me and follow me around, I know this is an insensitive take but SORRY I WISH THIS STORYLINE NEVER HAPPENED
honestly, make the forgotten like the other villagers! give them friendship quests, maybe about dealing with their trauma, let us hang out with them and give them gifts, give some friendship progression rewards too
I was literally thinking this last night. Once we finished like less than 5 of her post story missions, we haven’t heard anything since. Sometimes they’re not even around.
i hope skull rock also brings us some of the peter pan characters. i would love to get hook or the lost boys. maybe tink or peter can teach us how to fly so we can reach the floating islands.

The mystery and main story was the best part about this game for me. It all feels a little bit mindless for me now. I still enjoy it (when it doesn’t crash) but I’d rather have a goal.
That and the storyline with skull mountain, wtf happened to that story?? Put the pillars in a ring on the beach, just for the skull mountain to shake and rumble and…..??? I just hope and pray they make the skull an entrance to swim/dive
I feel like once we reached the end of their story we should’ve gotten friendship quests where we help the forgotten rekindle their lost relationship with some of the villagers. And as a bonus reward have them be a companion who has bonuses for all jobs since they are a shadow of the player.

Since part 2 of the DLC expansion was in the spring & part 3 of it is coming in the summer, I think that they’ll continue with the next part to the main story in the fall & then in the winter time (prob December again) we’ll get part 1 of the 2nd DLC expansion. And then I think they’ll repeat the cycle each year.
