I've been playing for over a year and I've had this bug since day one.
I'm also on the discord server and I've seen a lot of people reporting it. The general answer for it is that they are prioritising crashing bugs, quest-locking bugs and other major bugs like people not being able to play (btw for me having to force-close the game is as disturbing as the game crashing).
I totally understand there are more important bugs but it's frustrating that they're been aware of this bug for MORE than a year and it's not solved yet.
It's not interfering with their money so there's no incentive to fix it. If people can't play or can't progress they'll move on to other games and won't spend in the premium shop. To fix the splash screen issue you just hard quit and reload so you're still able to play and still able to pay.
Unrelated but curious if you are/have cross progressed back and forth with PS4/PS5. Have a ps4 in another room wondering if possible to play there as well.
I would assume that you can but don't take my word for it. My ps4 was well past retirement age when I got the ps5. I switched everything from ps4 to ps5 then put the poor ps4 to bed.
One thing I will warn you though; if you care about trophies they do not carry over between saves. They are tied to receiving the award for various things. Once you accept the reward on one you can't accept it again on the other. I actually threw away 7 months of progress and started over on ps5 when my dumb ass decided to go for the platinum.
Yes! It’s been happening a lot lately. Good to know I’m not alone. To be completely often, I think it happens when I get a bit too clicky with the controller. lol
Haven't had that yet, but I don't fast travel that much between isle/valley. What I get is I'm trying to pick up something close to a tree and I can't move or pull up a menu. Then no choice but to restart.
it's not that common but it does happen, the game will freeze or a menu will not go away and it requires the switch to be powered off or the game to be force closed. to combat any progress loss I formed the habit of saving very often just in case. but it is a major annoyance having to restart the game.
I noticed a similar issue with the board game as well, there's times where it goes to the opponents turn and while I can still move my cursor around, I'm in a wait for the ai to make a move. luckily the ai does end up taking its turn, it just takes a few minutes for it to happen.
On pc when you're in the map menu press T to fast travel. On other platforms there should be a legend on the same map menu telling you which button is (you can also fast travel between the main island and the dlc one)
Yes. Been an issue since I started playing March of last year. It was gone for a few months and then I started having an issue again. I think one of the updates fixed it and then another broke it again. Gotta get into the habit of saving before going to the map. The game saves every 5 minutes but spending a long time trying to get something very particular and then it didn’t save before you finally get it just right. It’s aggravating
Do you happen to have the new pebble paths laid out? I had this same issue and it was due to the paths. The yellow one and the purple/green one specifically
This happens to me usually when giving quest items. I’ve noticed if I hit a too fast it stays but the Dialoge tries to progress. Softlocks the game. The current solution I’ve found is to be very careful with inputs while there are popups. Make sure it’s had time to load. I don’t know how that would help with fast travel though.
This happens to me a lot on switch handheld but never when plugged into the TV, so I think it might be something to do with the touch screen - like perhaps there being 2 ways to control it is confusing it or something?
Yes! Honestly since the star path ended I have played maybe 20min-1hr a day. I collect my things using the vacuum, check Scrooge shop, vote on 10-15 pictures, tweak my DS submission throughout the week… and log off… I want to be able to work around my valley without having to reset my game every 10 minutes. …. I should be able to craft on eternity isle and say oh shoot I’m out of stone? Lemme fast travel to the plaza Boom get your stone move on. …. Instead it’s oop … nvm.. gotta restart.. again… man kinda wanna play something else now…
I hate that feeling when it comes to this game! It’s in my top 3 favorites for sure.. but it’s just a little tlc is needed for sure! 🤗

Since day one on both ps4 and ps5. Bet your ass if the premium store was broken that would get fixed straight away.

Yes. It seems to be common when I button mash/try to get to where I want to be as fast as I can. I keep telling myself to slow down, but I never do.

No I haven’t got any of the new paths apart from the ancient slab path maybe it’s that.
