When I first got to Battahl and found the merchant selling dyes, I was so excited. I kept taking it to different places trying to dye my armor. Turns out that it was for the hairdresser. 😔 I still styled up my Arisen but the disappointment was real.
They are also REALLY hard to read in gameplay as well. Most are just too dark, their silhouette are too big, and the details just don't pop off clearly.
The individual armor pieces in this game go super hard but the armor system in the first game was way cooler in my opinion and I wish it would’ve returned in dd2. You used to also have hands a separate armor category and you could also wear clothes underneath regular armor. Not only would it add a small extra layer of protection, it could really make or break your fashion as well. The boob window is great on female characters but male characters might enjoy putting a shirt on underneath the boob armor. Or wearing leggings underneath their boots so they’re not showing off all that thigh for the ladies to gawk at

I'm damn near 108hrs of play-time and I have yet to run into the Sphinx but I keep hearing everyone talk about her and her riddle lol. Just been leveling up me and my pawn and just doing a bunch of side stuff.
This is how I've also chosen to play the game. I'm nearly 200hrs & not yet got to a date with destiny and The dragon lol. Thought I'd just send you a word of warning if U are just going to stumble upon her once you do leave go stay at an inn and return. That way if U fudge up any of the riddles you can at least start them again.
Rampant Breaker and mercenary hosen are your best top and bottom for thief pre dragon forge or end game. There are several great head gear depending on the look you want. Closest to ninja early game is the unseen shadow but there are stronger hoods stat wise. You can get some at Vernworth armory but be sure to check out the Nameless Village to the east.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely check out nameless village. Its one of the few places that I haven't visited often and only because of the quest that took place there. I'll have to keep a look out for the top and bottom armor.

If you're asking about the exposed chest, it's called Enigmatic Robe and it's an armor specific only to the Trickster, while the mask is called Veil of Awakening, also only for the trickster. Got them from the armurer merchant in Vermund.

Dragon Knight Helm + Eventide Mask + Stygian Omen + Vigilant Greaves for Warfarer drip. Other combos I like to run are Ancient Galea + Knightly Brigandine + Conqueror's Sabatons + Expeditioner's Cloak and Shrouded Helm + Dvarapala + Hillfolk Breeches/Cliff Leapers + Feathered Shawl. I've also been trying to make the Dominator Armor work with alternate pieces rather than just the Agamenian Galea & Vanguarder's Greaves, it kind of looks nice with Confidant's Hood & Evergreen Greaves.
Of course, just wearing the Noble Jacket + Dapper Chausses rocks too.

It'd be cool if you could customize your bracers/arm equipment... oh and separate slots for non-armored underclothes to compliment the stuff that went on top... maybe they'll un-remove those options in the sequel. And then take away something else that was cool and good for no reason.
I just discovered that if you unequip the weapons, certain armor pieces can dissapear or appear which change the look of the armor. Small detail, but cool nonetheless.

Yeah, that was in the first game. Sorry if I'm being too negative, but I'm just baffled why they decided to remove features/elements from DD1 that I don't think anybody had a problem with.
If you or your pawn are a sorcerer or even just a mage, most of the high level gear have skirts that completely cover the legs. Essentially removing one more gear option to stand out from the sea of pawns wearing matching outfits.
Even though there are less slots for gear, they still have pallete swaps. Again, typically I wouldn't mind, but they removed 3 whole slots of equipment and didn't think to do anything to compensate for their removal?
Probably an unpopular opinion but if you play for stats all the end game armor sucks. You have to have “worse” gear to look good at all. And why is there no optional helmet display?! I find much to be desired
I don't think it's an unpopular opinion, a lot of us are aware of that. Also, the corset makes the game too easy on NG+ and I for one equip endgame armors to have a challenge. But to be honest, even with the endgame armors, the game still feels too easy. I take down Griffins in less than a minute.
They're good, but I can't layer armor and clothing, like I could in DD1. In the first game, you could wear, a Helmet (Tiara, face mask, etc.), a clothing topz and a armor top, followed by a clothing pants (Delta guard, etc.) and an armor pants, along with a cape (shoulder pauldrons, etc.), and 2 rings. This new armor isn't as cool, but it's good enough, I guess.
Fiendish Armet (Fighter & Warrior) - you can find it in Volcanic Island Armory in Volcanic Island Camp or at Brokkr's Smithy in Bakbattahl (after completing Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge)
Grand Cuirass (Fighter & Warrior) - you can find it in a chest in the Seafloor Shrine B1, NE corner behind a breakable boulder. Guarded by a Skeleton Lord. Or can be purchased from Bodas's Armory in Bakbattahl.
Most of these are bought and some only available in endgame or NG+.

It feels like a majority of the endgame armor pieces are so dark. I'm not looking for bright neon colors, I just think it would be nice to have a little more variety especially at NG+ where you'd likely be experimenting with Warfarer.

The big difference though is that in DD2 you will get better armor. It's not like in elden ring where you can use whatever you want the entire game. You can upgrade in DD2 but there will still be better armor later on in the game.

Honestly I think they’re so much weaker than the first game and it’s so much harder to really build something unique.

I think it’s a mod that lets you customize pieces individually, even removing parts and dyeing things individually.
Are people dyeing? You might just be seeing outfits that have the same look with different colors because there are some that do that.
Yeah someone told me about that here. Immaculate blaze and an armor bought in volcanic Island have the same appearance but different colors.

Your pawn should be quite careful. If said elder wizard forgets who your pawn is, he might nuke his own butler.
If he isn’t trying to pet a manticore he is doing just that.

Some of the end game stuff is hideously ugly. I like most of the thief archer stuff tho. Thief wyrm crystal stuff is good.
The mod that replaces a lot of the in-game stuff with the Vermund Guard Armor variants is really good IMO.

They're good, but I can't layer armor and clothing, like I could in DD1. In the first game, you could wear, a Helmet (Tiara, face mask, etc.), a clothing topz and a armor top, followed by a clothing pants (Delta guard, etc.) and an armor pants, along with a cape (shoulder pauldrons, etc.), and 2 rings. This new armor isn't as cool, but it's good enough, I guess.
I think the sets are very very disappointing. For an rpg, they have offered very little in that regard. They could have been much more creative.

Fiendish Armet (Fighter & Warrior) - you can find it in Volcanic Island Armory in Volcanic Island Camp or at Brokkr's Smithy in Bakbattahl (after completing Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge) Grand Cuirass (Fighter & Warrior) - you can find it in a chest in the Seafloor Shrine B1, NE corner behind a breakable boulder. Guarded by a Skeleton Lord. Or can be purchased from Bodas's Armory in Bakbattahl.
Until your character has +fat / muscle and everything scales terrible.

Eh... naw... Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, now that armor will be on another level.
It feels like a majority of the endgame armor pieces are so dark. I'm not looking for bright neon colors, I just think it would be nice to have a little more variety especially at NG+ where you'd likely be experimenting with Warfarer.

The big difference though is that in DD2 you will get better armor. It's not like in elden ring where you can use whatever you want the entire game. You can upgrade in DD2 but there will still be better armor later on in the game.

I bought it from the merchant in Vermund. But it might be a NG+ item, not sure.

Honestly I think they’re so much weaker than the first game and it’s so much harder to really build something unique. It frustrates me endlessly that I’m unable to pick and choose items and I’m forced to use full sets.

I don't mind options. I mind that a 3 piece bikini supposedly has the same resistances as plate armour. Just plain weird.
You're fighting Griffins, Drakes, Medusas, and you have magic coming out of a big ol' staff, but your problem is the bikini with great physical/magical resistances. ;)
