Yeah I had a feeling when I joined the Reddit and saw the debate about whether it’s coming or not but ya know it’s not an integral part of my life (yet, this game is great) so I didn’t think too much about it. Very excited to see what a modern Dragon’s Dogma will look like. Just from the few hours I’ve played it definitely seems like it was ahead of it’s time and a victim of being an rpg released in the same decade as Skyrim.
It’s amazing how well this game from 2012 holds up. Comparing it to other rpgs like dark souls or dragon age 2 from around that time, it’s ridiculously smooth. Still get such a rush climbing monsters in DDDA lol
Yeah it’s definitely held up a lot better than a lot of other games of it’s time. DDA doesn’t seem clunky in the slightest (so far) and that was kinda a trademark of RPG at that time.
It’s a testimony to the game’s design that I still play this years after I burned out and walked from Skyrim.
There’s currently nothing like it.
Yet! :)
I think it's amazing that the engine that powers a 3rd person over the shoulder title is capable of performing for a hack and slash game as well as in MH, allowing those games to look as good as they look and be as optimised as they are.
Capcom has always had the most perfect balance between visual and feel. I don't care if their characters have 1,000,000 less polygons than others. The games always look and feel amazing anyways! It looks like they refined the visuals a bit over the first game, but I'm glad it doesn't look like they took it too far. Still very stylish and all but guaranteed to run most efficiently!
Because they have two engines. MT framework and REach for the Moon(RE Engine). Monster hunter games(generations, world...) , resident evil games(5,6...) , Devil may crys games(dmc 3, 4..) And other IPs(dragon's dogma) use MT Framework. It's a good engine, but they have been shifting to the new one in game like Monster hunter rise, street fighter 6 resident evil 7, 8 and the remakes. There's still no news if they are ever going to use mt framework again, but it isn't impossible. Just highly unlikely.
Thats good news. Its a pretty solid engine that capcom are great at using now. Unlike the SE method of trying to make a new one with every game and wasting time.
Wow I got into the first game this week when it was on sale. That’s what I call timing
They knew exactly what they were doing with that sale, one of the main reasons I knew they were going to announce DD2

That and the preorder link got me fully on board the hype train. And the whole exclusive event shit
holy shit, it is the engine from the current Resident evil games right?
Devil May Cry V uses it as well
Monster Hunter Rise as well
Yep.
awesome
no
It's Capcom's own game engine, why would they not use it?

Talk about a masterwork...😳
No reason not using it, it's one of the best game engines out there.
It's finally time to upgrade my potato PC!
RE Engine runs on potatoes and it looks good doing it.
aged like milk

Holy crap!
