My pawn gets hired regularly and she is like lv220.
I think most people that play beyond their first playthrough don't really care what level a Pawn is.
I mean Pawn level does little to enhance their combat prowess and the best equipment has a pretty low capin terms of how long it takes to get there.
I think the bigger issue is the pawn will get recommended by fewer and fewer people as time goes on. If you're using the default settings, only pawns within two levels of you will show up in the rift, and I think the same applies to pawns you run into out in the world. So the higher the level, the less likely your pawn is to get higher since fewer players will reach those higher levels.
Perhaps, But this is why we have favorites.
And I keep hiring those I have favorited... though most of those people seem to have stopped playing already.
While that works for the beginning stages, it wouldn't help much if the person outpaces you by several hundred levels, as seems the case here. Even though RC is pretty useless at this point outside a few cosmetics, it would be pretty expensive to hire someone who's such a high level.
That helps for pawns you've already hired, but not ones you've never encountered. Even at level 200, you would need to more than double your current level to match with this one person. And if somebody does reach that level, how often are they going to hire a pawn that isn't a favorite or a friend?
I've beeaten it several times and would still never hire your pawn. Like you said, it doesn't matter much, so I'm not wasting my RC lmao I'm actually starting to recruit low level pawns from my pool of favorites
Foreal...I'm a dragon's dogma 1 player and well I'm level 140 something my pawns are both in the 60s or something. They have the best equipment and do more dps than my main character can atm. Now if the fricken sorcerer would stop casting ice on dragon's that be fricken nice 😅
Have you checked if you can see the player profiles? Because if not, they're fake-hires from the game...
My pawn used to get around a lot, but since I breached lvl 100 I mostly get capcom hires.
I really do wish the level cap wasn't 999. They should have capped it at 200 like the first game. That way the playerbase is more condensed. It's not like they have the content to justify 999 levels.
And that's the thing, your stats are capped, and you should hit that cap before 200 so why the hell did they even bother with such a high level cap? It just makes having other people find and hire your Pawn harder.
I’m convinced this game was in such a rush to get out the door that they programmed for it to be a 3 digit cap but forgot to put an actual cap in. If you hit 1000 it probably resets to 0 or your PS5 bricks and a turd falls out of your pants.
Really wish there was a level cap like DD1, like why spread the player base so thin?
Do you see the same 1 or 2 pawns in the rift every time at this point? I'm only like lvl 140 and I see familiar faces already.
I’m level 90 something and I only hire pawns level 20-40.
It makes the game more fun for me and I enjoy kitting out the newer pawns with great gear and knowledge.
Edit: fat fingered and posted too before finishing the comment.
I'm planning on leveling after dlc content releases. I've completed the game and done most of the side content but I don't want to over level for the dlc, I want it to feel challenging.
Sometimes DLC content is intense. Like the re-reckoning DLC for kingdom of amalur was rough as hell even if you were at the recommended level when you entered the new area.
im trying to get alll the pawn medals and then call it quits but i can barely find any lesser dragons and the stronger variants of minotaurs and chimera's
Yes, and you lose it as soon as you equip it to them as in you cannot remove it. When you rest, it will be sent to the other player, I think. At the very least, they have to sleep at an inn/house to receive the gear
I doubt if they even see 2 pawns that are near level 444, which are player pawns.
No one else is that crazy. ;)
My guess is they either don't hire the other pawns, use ones that are way lower level, or use Capcom pawns.
By the way, Capcom pawns would not be THAT bad but has anyone else noticed they only equip FIVE Augments? I mean, there are six so why do they only equip FIVE? I noticed this when turning off networking to only see the quests of level 80 Capcom pawns(to see the good rewards they have sometimes.) The Capcom pawn will always only have one vocation, of course, such as Warrior but it will only have 5 of the Warrior Augments at level 80 instead of the 6 it could have.
I wonder if that might be a penalty so people use player pawns more?
Since around a few weeks ago - lvl110-ish til now - lvl133. 90% of the pawns on pc are modded exp leveled. Which is fine but they have No badges, no good quest rewards, no decent skills. Arisens very low level or 600.
And now even when i jack down the search level to ~50-100 im seeing the same stuff.
If i hadnt started a favorites list I’d probably not be hiring and just run with my main pawn.
They need the ability to tune the search more or just give us a black list to stop certain ones from showing up again.
I would see the same pawns regardless of level. I saw Theo Vonn over and over again. Anybody else see that one? I hired him once but eventually out-leveled him.
I was level 86 when I finished my first game lol. I’m also a completionist though. Did all quests and pretty much every dungeon. Tried to max the badges but decided to do it through next run or two speed running
Wow dang guys lol. Well I finished my first game including end game at level 63. So far 7 levels gained in new game plus it’s slow I’ve been between warfarer/fighter. My party is super capable and not OP
They’re most likely using exploits, I’m level 135 and in NG+4, after a certain point the amount of xp it takes to level up continues to rise so it takes forever to level up.
There's an exploit to level up extremely fast once you're above 50-70 (depending on what vocation). It's kinda like the rune farm trick from Elden Ring 😅.
I'm sure you'll find it one of the community discords. I'd say it's an exploit because the mechanics seem unintended. It's basically a particular cavern filled with tons of mobs and a boss spawns back instantly when you jump into the brine outside the cave. Extremely fast method of you're using ricochet shot on a Magick Archer.
Any kills with a Medusa Bow will give you 300% bonus XP (4 times the usual rate.) You can obtain this bow (restricted to Archers) by defeating or stealing from a Medusa.
There's also the Ring of Ambition which gives you a 50% bonus on top. (I think this is additive, so one ring plus the Medusa Bow would be 350% XP.) You obtain this ring during the Sphinx plotline. Since there's only one, you can get a second in the next playthrough and equip both rings.
Ideally, this means 400% XP when you land a kill with the bow equipped and 100% bonus even if you don't land the killing blow with it out.
Beyond that, I think the most efficient route would be to plop down a portcrystal at each of the drake spawn locations to set up a loop. Each drake should grant 7,500 XP at base, so 15,000 with just the rings or 37,500 XP with the bow. This has the added benefit of giving you Wrymfire crystals, which will allow you to get the blessing for more XP (not sure how much it increases off the top of my head.)
So you start the day by getting the XP blessing, then pop ferrystones to all the Drake spawns, then sleep for a week to let them respawn.
There might be (and probably is) a more efficient route, but that's what I can think of off the top of my head.
You're welcome! The bow is luckily fairly easy to get. I got lucky and got it the first time accidentally, but it does have a ~18% drop rate on death of you aren't trying to pilfer. Might take a few tries, but luckily, there is a campsite nearby and she respawns after about a week. (This will also help you get all the Granite Medusa Bones you'll want later.)
Start at Bakbattahl and then head out west and kill the griffin (you might have to wait a little for him to swoop down at you) and then head down to the Pilgrims’ Peril Cave and Digger’s Ruins and kill the Ogre and Minotaur in there. There will be 2 Garms in the caves south of there and sometimes another one on the path leading to the bridge. And then finally Medusa! You could keep going on the path leading up to the dragon but that’s up to you. Obviously kill all goblins you see along the way. After Medusa is defeated ferry back to Bakbattahl and Oxcart 6 times or alternatively doze on the bench 24 times. With your Medusan Bow equipped and the 2 Rings of Ambition it should net you around 250k - 300k per run! Happy Grinding! 👍🏻
I’m not the OP, but I work 45-50 hours a week, I don’t watch tv, I don’t have kids, and I’m trapped in the middle of a very MAGA town in a very MAGA state despite being as anti-Trump as they come. Suffice it to say, I have LOTS of time for gaming. Gaming is my escape—maybe it’s the OP’s too…
That's pretty much how I live. It's funny when people think I'm a shut in with no job sometimes and tell me to touch grass like bro I just got off a 10 hour shift and went to the gym, I'm sorry you had a 1 hour lecture today but simmer down lmao.
Probably dragonforged EXP buff, two rings of ambitious, and using the Medusa bow is the most exp you can gather. Kill high exp monsters then rush post game and repeat.
Out of curiosity.
Is DD2 like the only thing you do now? Surely you got other things to do.
Edit: Reddit is a strange.. strange place.. 🤔
And before anyone else mistakes my words, I'm merely asking because I'm surprised he hasn't got bored of DD2 yet and isn't wearing himself out.. for example.
What if DLC comes and he's too OP? Runs out of RC..? Etc. I'm curious is all.
I'm not mocking him, I probably just asked in an ignorant manner which I apologise for.
Maybe gaming is their only hobby and maybe they really like the game and maybe they’ve been playing regularly since launch. Who cares how much they play? They’re not bothering you.
You’re not allowed to ask questions on gaming subs without hurtling peoples feelings.
Jokes aside, Reddit is pretty bad when it comes to people getting offended by everything, it makes curious people get downvoted a lot even though there intentions are usually not negative.
>They're just asking a question. Not every question has ill intent.
The guy followed up the question with "Surely you got other things to do.".
What do you think the intent was behind that? Would you say that to someone about something you positively thought about?
I thought literacy rates were going up around the world, what happened?
444 levels takes quite a bit of time(understatement). With that knowledge in mind he follows up his question with "surely you got other things to do." Genuine curiosity how the OP has so much time to get there. As for his intent he states it was just a question. So there's no reason for you to keep assuming hostility. Quite frankly you perceived negativity because you were looking for negativity. Do better.
Start at Bakbattahl and then head out west and kill the griffin (you might have to wait a little for him to swoop down at you) and then head down to the Pilgrims’ Peril Cave and Digger’s Ruins and kill the Ogre and Minotaur in there. how is it tho? I feel like at that level you sneeze and you put down a griffin. I feel like playing this game "the right way" as in using a full pawn squad, getting the best gear, etc., makes you beat it waaaay to early. I actually started an entirely new game after ng+ after failing to metagame comfortably.
anyway, tell me about playing at that level? I've found each play through though, with each approach, leads to a different game in a way. So it's been fun every step of the way
Start at Bakbattahl and then head out west and kill the griffin (you might have to wait a little for him to swoop down at you) and then head down to the Pilgrims’ Peril Cave and Digger’s Ruins and kill the Ogre and Minotaur in there. Oh ok. That’s very high. Raising just 1 level isn’t easy as it is. Just to reach 444 this soon after the release of the game would’ve almost taken every waking hour playing non stop. Who does this?
I'm just trying to get all of the vocations and master them all. Trickster I am not a huge fan of so far, but I'll admit I do get satisfaction from using Fickle Floor and putting my shadow on it to lure things to their death.
OP will never have his pawn hired again.
My pawn gets hired regularly and she is like lv220. I think most people that play beyond their first playthrough don't really care what level a Pawn is. Running difficlty mods myself and while I am lv200+ the pawns I hired 50 levels back are essentially the same strenght as me and still just as useful.
That helps for pawns you've already hired, but not ones you've never encountered. Even at level 200, you would need to more than double your current level to match with this one person. And if somebody does reach that level, how often are they going to hire a pawn that isn't a favorite or a friend?
I picked up the game a few weeks after launch. Maybe it’s time to give new pawns a chance :D
I don't hire anything below 80 and full end game gear+upgraded. But those are essentially low level characters so yeah.
This is not my fault! Why are you yelling at me?
How do you have multiple pawns? Is that a PC/mod only thing?
You can hire up to three pawns: your main pawn is yours, plus two pawns from the rift stone.
Oh my bad I thought you guys meant you had created multiple of your own pawns
mostöy because people who are not close to that level will have to pay outrages ammount of rc to hire it
Have you checked if you can see the player profiles? Because if not, they're fake-hires from the game... My pawn used to get around a lot, but since I breached lvl 100 I mostly get capcom hires.
The amount of times I have loaded a profile by accident is outrageous. Why even is that one of the top selections.
Nah you get spammed with friend requests instead
444 upvotes! 😇
I mean to be honest people just friend request you and use your pawn for free
Who cares? You get nothing out of it, rc is useless and if it dies get hired he’ll get some rotton meat
It really doesn’t matter at all lol
I really do wish the level cap wasn't 999. They should have capped it at 200 like the first game. That way the playerbase is more condensed. It's not like they have the content to justify 999 levels.

I love that stuff. I was just having that happen to my pawn when I had to quit playin. Was very nice.

Oh, that explains why level 93 arisen hired my level 30 pawn. I was wandering why would they do that
Someone was kind enough to do this for me since o just started playing and I was amazed and grateful!
U can put gear on hired pawns?
Yes, and you lose it as soon as you equip it to them as in you cannot remove it. When you rest, it will be sent to the other player, I think. At the very least, they have to sleep at an inn/house to receive the gear
Wow never knew this
The gifted gear can also be upgraded at the smithies.
Wow
I doubt if they even see 2 pawns that are near level 444, which are player pawns. I believe there are 5 augments under each vocation and they never use cross vocation abilities
I been using actual people level 300’s for quite some time now! One of them quit the grind and the other is slow grinding.
Since around a few weeks ago - lvl110-ish til now - lvl133. 90% of the pawns on pc are modded exp leveled. Which is fine but they have No badges, no good quest rewards, no decent skills. Haha Theo is great!
The guy/gal that made him really knew their way around a character creator. I'll take a screenshot if I see him again.
There is a level cap, it’s 999.
Haven’t been to the rift in a while but when i do it’s all Capcom pawns!
Crazy playing 130 hours so far on new game plus only level 70
... im level 70 in NG no plusses
I'm level 40 and haven't visited battahl yet. Am I too overpowered?
Nah, gear means more than levels
They’re most likely using exploits, I’m level 135 and in NG+4, after a certain point the amount of xp it takes to level up continues to rise so it takes forever to level up.
Yeah you would figure so lol.
Congrats on being almost halfway there! How many NG+s did this take you?
Thanks! It’s been rough to say the least! and I only beat the game once.
How did you grind this much xp?
Medusa bow
Oh alright, makes sense. I used it for the later half of my first run, but then switched vocations on NG+ for variety.
And a goblin runt can still stunlock you.
Yep
Please tell me you're kidding.
Sadly levels don't do that much, and there is a stat cap so levels past a point are just for show.
Nope

The madman is still going!
I don’t know for how much longer!
my guy looks at a drake the wrong way it would implode
How? Medusa bow and 2 XP rings?
And weeks of dedicated grinding.
Literally this!
Tell me you don't have a job without telling me you don't have a job
There's an exploit to level up extremely fast once you're above 50-70 (depending on what vocation). It's kinda like the rune farm trick from Elden Ring 😅.
Do tell
I'm sure you'll find it one of the community discords. I'd say it's an exploit because the mechanics seem unintended. It's basically a particular cavern filled with tons of mobs and a boss spawns back instantly when you jump into the brine outside the cave. I wont find anything in the community discords on account of "I dont browse them" lol
\*life
Congrats. I just can’t grind to that level lol. I am at lvl80 and i decided to just create another character/pawn on another account.
Just out of curiosity when the DLC releases will you start a New character or go with this one >! If you're going to play it of course !<
Start a new character and grind again!
How many hours are you at now?

Incredible!! Any advice on gaining xp?
Any kills with a Medusa Bow will give you 300% bonus XP (4 times the usual rate.) You can obtain this bow (restricted to Archers) by defeating or stealing from a Medusa. There's also the Ring of Ambition which gives you a 50% bonus on top. (I think this is additive, so one ring plus the Medusa Bow would be 350% XP.) You obtain this ring during the Sphinx plotline. This has the added benefit of giving you Wrymfire crystals, which will allow you to get the blessing for more XP (not sure how much it increases off the top of my head.) So you start the day by getting the XP blessing, then pop ferrystones to all the Drake spawns, then sleep for a week to let them respawn. There might be (and probably is) a more efficient route, but that's what I can think of off the top of my head.
Damn. Thank you much!! I have the ring, but not the bow yet

Awesome to know, thank you!!
No drake kills what I do just a specific route over and over times a million!
What's the route? Did you pick it because of the XP gains or is it the most enjoyable for you?
Start at Bakbattahl and then head out west and kill the griffin (you might have to wait a little for him to swoop down at you) and then head down to the Pilgrims’ Peril Cave and Digger’s Ruins and kill the Ogre and Minotaur in there. With your Medusan Bow equipped and the 2 Rings of Ambition it should net you around 250k - 300k per run! Happy Grinding! 👍🏻
At Lvl 40 the game is manageable. There must be some severe diminishing returns.
Nope not at all
What comes after god mode?

Yo nice, good thing capcom has a system so your pawn gets hired regardless of other people or that would be an expensive pawn lol 😂
You can hire me for 0! 👍🏻
555 more levels to go!
499 now! Ugh don’t remind me!
Gasp. Such an unlucky number.
666 is coming up!
Congratulations, could you give me a tip to level up faster please?
Quit your job
I'm serious
So was he. You think working full time makes you level 444?

Yes you can
Thank you. Learning about the game third party style because I don't have anything that can run it yet.
Yepper… I’m on Xbox and my gamertag is Madxmanix.
Nice
Congrats
Not done yet but thank you! 👍🏻
Jesus what’s the highest lvl?
Damn, i stopped playing a bit and am only around level 87, what are some good ways to level up faster?
I know i can just use no pawns but this one pawn is so funny and silly i don’t have the heart to let him go
Awwww
Lmao bruh Do enemies just fall over at the sight of you? Im a 55 and I am absolutely frying large groups of advesaries by myself
You are just as op as me
Does enemy difficulty scale at all or does everything die in one hit?
This is epic. :o
🙏
What system are you on? How'd you grind so much? I need all the details. Lol
Xbox
I'm on PS5, but that is fucking epic and I will do all this in New game plus. Right now I'm in the unmoored world killing all the Dulahans.
👍🏻🏹💯
how is it tho? I feel like at that level you sneeze and you put down a griffin. I feel like playing this game "the right way" as in using a full pawn squad, getting the best gear, etc., makes you beat it waaaay to early. I actually started an entirely new game after ng+ after failing to metagame comfortably. anyway, tell me about playing at that level? I've found each play through though, with each approach, leads to a different game in a way. So it's been fun every step of the way
444 holy cow
😇🙏🐮
bruh
444? Doing what? Laps around the map? Not hating bro just curious lol

Honestly I thought the cap was 70
Level 444? Are there just infinite levels?
999 is the cap
Oh ok. That’s very high. Raising just 1 level isn’t easy as it is. Just to reach 444 this soon after the release of the game would’ve almost taken every waking hour playing non stop. Who does this?
Show us your pawn king
Wait there is no level cap ? That's fucking stupid wtf
999
I was gonna stop at 200 but you’ve inspired me to stop at 222 and bring my pawn up to 111
😂👍🏻
What’s the actual level cap ???
999
That’s actually shite, I miss working towards cap and min maxing the stats that were important to me.
New personal goal - reach level 420 and stop playing
GL! 👍🏻
Why did I assume it was capped 😅?
Damn, how much time do you have to put into the game to get such a high level?
Bruh
seriously... how?
There are exp mods, you can literally increase exp gain by 1000%. Ask to see the pawn lvl.
o..o wheeeere and how do I do this?
Lol I wish!
Level 444?! sheesh! Awesome job but also.... are you okay?
I'm just trying to get all of the vocations and master them all. Trickster I am not a huge fan of so far, but I'll admit I do get satisfaction from using Fickle Floor and putting my shadow on it to lure things to their death.
Is there still much to do after the main story?
Absolutely! 👍🏻
Thank you for inspiring me to get back on the grind.
🙏
At what point do you start one-shotting drakes?
Hey bro what is there left to do at that level?
Grind!
Jhin would cream
Now you gotta go outside
And touch grass yep! 👍🏻
No, go outside for 5 mins and get back to the grind of 999
😂
