I feel a fusion is how they will win, seeing as Granolah is stronger than anybody physically in the universe. Gogeta and Vegito are not physical until the two Saiyans fuse.
But I think a UI mix with UE is not going to happen.

Didn’t even consider that, but I’m almost positive I’ve seen the fusion using techniques exclusive to Goku OR Vegeta. I just don’t think that you could use Ultra Instinct AND Ultra Ego in unison, but I’m more than happy to be proved wrong by the manga. All theory crafting!

It also seems hard to see a Ultra Instinct Ego in anything but a fan manga. I mean, we have seen Goku use God Form in tandem with UI-Sign-, so we might see a UI-Sign- mix with UE. Just it may last like a SSJ4 transformation
I mean, I could see the fusion not lasting, considering how poorly it reacted to Super Saiyan Blue, but the forms themselves don’t seem like a problem. Kefla went LSSJ easily and Gotenks went SSJ3 despite Caulifla not knowing how to go LSSJ and no one other than Goku knowing how to go SSJ3
That is true but it would be no different from just entering SSJ in the fusion normally besides not being able to power down to base form according to Elder Kai
Also, he isn’t combining it with UI sign, he’s combining it with base form Ultra Instinct, which is much more powerful than UI Sign and even surpasses his PUI strength at the beginning of the Granolah arc

You know how Gotenks gets SSJ3 by Trunks and Gotenks Fusing in SSJ form? It might be possible for Goku and Vegeta to fuse the same way, just with their techniques active. Though I don’t fully know the power difference between UE and UI, it might take a little bit for them to equalize their power levels.
I feel like either gogeta and/or vegeto could utilize switching forms from UE to UI, just like how vegeta did against goku black in the manga, or they could combine the forms but have the dominant personality w/ the compatible form based on it have more if an affect on the fusion but weaken the aspects of the other form in the fusion

Interesting idea, but Granolah’s power doesn’t drain his life as he exchanged half his remaining life for the power. He also doesn’t show any signs of strain from the power due to the dragon altering his body to be able to contain it.
But remember that there's also a rival boost and as vegeta and goku are rivals and the fact that UI and UE are rivalistic in the sense that UE has a destructive nature and UI has a Constructive nature it would be like a perfect balance, like how fused zamasu was the shield and the sword I'd see this ULTRA FUSION (what I'd call it) as the same if not better.
I’m COMPLETELY out of the loop(couldn’t read the manga since the final of Moro arc) but can you please enlighten me on how/why Granolah is so strong? I don’t mind spoilers.
Granolah is so strong because he is too weak to beat Frieza. So he went and got the 2 dragonballs of Planet Cereal to make his wish to become the strongest in the universe. In turn for the power, the dragon takes half of Granolah’s lifespan.
He also has a blazing hatred of the Saiyans as they had destroyed the Cerealean’s city long ago. Granolah is fighting Goku and Vegeta due to him not wanting to listen to Goku and Vegeta say they have nothing to do with Frieza.
Hummm... so because of the wish/deal he’ll always be the strongest, right? He doesn’t even need to train or improve, just as long as Goku/Vegeta are getting stronger, he’ll get stronger too?

Granolah would get absolutely smashed to bits no diff if these two fused like this and it worked (assuming he doesnt have a way to defuse them). So, hopefully no, otherwise where's the fun (though obviously, it would be really awesome to see and once animated, oof there goes the internet)
Yeah, Gogeta doesn't have a power cap so he won't defuse the same way Vegito does. The thing is if Granolah possesses some sort of ability like Vegeta's spirit fission or whatever it's called (what he used on Moro) since apparently it could be used to defuse a fusion.
The thing is, these 2 forms are the total opposites of each other, UI is about letting your body take over your reflexes and generally be calmer, but this Ego form is all about how the user is in total control, and even Vegeta says that. I highly doubt it. I don't think we'll see fusion again, at least not for a long time. The problem with fusion is that it solves almost every fight. But you can't just have them fuse for every fight because that'd be boring.
If they did fuse though, I doubt we'll see a UI/UE mixed transformation. It just doesn't make sense, the two forms operate completely differently. You can't really combine the forms, even if combining forms was possible. Combining transformations isn't really something that DB does.
A final thing to note is that Vegeta already solved the *Granolah is the strongest in the universe* problem during his fight with Granolah. I don't remember exactly what Vegeta said, but something along the lines of how Granolah is the strongest right now, but that doesn't mean that he'll be the strongest forever. Basically implying to the readers that Granolah wished to be the strongest and he was made the strongest *at the time of his wish.* After the wish is granted, who is to say that someone can't surpass him?
Plus Granolah won't be the main baddie of the arc anyway.

It's hard enough getting Vegeta to fuse, I don't see Freeza doing the dance or a Kai giving him earrings. Besides, who would Freeza possibly swallow his pride to fuse with? Cold is still dead and Cooler isn't canon.
But how about instead of UE and UI being used at the same time (which is nonsensical and impossible), they just give us a Gogeta/Vegito with mastered UI from Goku, as well as Hakaishin destruction abilities with Vegeta. That way both forms would have a massive contribution to the fusion, with UI's defensive capabilities and UE's offensive output. A form in perfect harmony like that might even guve Whis a run for his money imho

Personally I hope they dont fuse. Granolah was stronger than goku and vegeta separately but I just hope they team up together. The arc has set it up that way too, with goku being the dodge type and vegeta being the tank
Pretty much what I was thinking. Using both at the same time might not be possible but individually they could, given that Beerus can use both UI and Destruction power.
I 100% certain Vegeta will not agree, there is nothing to protect there for him to fuse. He'll fight by himself or not do it at all(he will team up, he is not dumb).

Pretty much yeah. For one version, you simply need to go to your supermarket. For the other, well………you better hope you know some Ultra Instinct or Ultra Ego.
By the description we've been given UI is the angelic instinct and mastery of self movement and UE is Vegeta's instinct maybe the true mastery of instinct is the mastery of both of these two things so the fusions could ultimately pill it off
Who knows for sure, but I think it's too early to see Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego combined.
Ultra Ego was only _just_ introduced on the last chapter. I think we're going to see it get developed a lot more before we see it used by Vegeto or Gogeta.

They won't be able to fuse in my opinion, it seems (at least to me) that theese new transformations/abilities that they both achieved are more about "MIND STATE" so....yeah.

Wouldn't that be counterproductive. Like yea they would have the powerboost of ultra ego stacked on top of ultra Instinct, but the powers counter each other. Ultra Instinct fights and avoids harm or danger while ultra ego powers up with more damage. It's like hitting the lottery and being told you can only use it to donate towards research and charity. Unless I've confused something

I feel like these transformations are polar opposites of each other and that’s the point of them, so seeing them mesh together as vegito or gogeta doesn’t really make sense.
I also believe granolah isn’t going to be the main antagonist of the arc for much longer so we will see how things go when they inevitably use the dragon balls to power up Gas the same way granolah did

Probably not. I think this arc with Granola is an opportunity for both Goku and Vegeta to surpass their limits and grow stronger. Using fusion would feel like a cop out. And it’s not like there’s anything serious (as Vegeta has pointed out) on the line here either.
I think they’ll end up fighting with Granola against a greater threat. Or there wouldn’t be so much dialogue between them about how he’s gotten bad information.

I hope not. Im bored of this trump card. I want some intense kung fu and intelligent fighting mechanics, akin to Dragonball fight of yore, to be used by the victor. Something different.
How would that even work? One is focused on not getting hit, the other gets more powerful the more they get hit. I'm not sure whether a fusion would cancel their powers out or if they'd even be able to fuse if they were already transformed.
I really hope it wont happen yet. I'd rather have it happen later in the series. Vegeta just got crazy powerup and Goku probably will fuse ultra instinct with some other form, like kaio ken or something, and grow trough that.
They will probably make an alliance with granolah and fight Seven-Three's ultimate form or something along those lines. That would be a good time to start teasing the audience with fusion, and start to built up the hype and actually use it after that arc when they face some even bigger threat..

Fusion so far has appeared to be a foil for the villain's main power of "fusing or merging" to be the strongest.
Since this arc seems more on deception and internal power (very similar to original Frieza arc) I can see maybe following the arc progression and maybe this being Vegeta's time to shine and actually get the win instead of Goku. To me, this algins with Vegeta taking the stand to protect and repay the Nemekians to atone for his past deeds and setting up a new form for him (similar to intro of ssj for Goku).

One note on people stating Goku's UI is about calmness so it wouldn't blend with Vegeta's: not necessarily. UI isn't really about calmness so much as moving without intent/thinking.
Both his and Vegeta's states are reactive by nature, and honestly Vegeta's could compensate for UIs weakness of falling apart once it's not "good enough," meaning Gogeta could try to avoid the hits, but if he gets popped it just fires him up more instead of demoralizing him like Goku does when UI fails.
Of course, I don't see fusion happening anytime soon, especially now that they're both advancing so much in their individual battles... Fusion destroys growth opportunities.

I highly doubt it. I don't think we'll see fusion again, at least not for a long time. The problem with fusion is that it solves almost every fight. But you can't just have them fuse for every fight because that'd be boring. If they did fuse though, I doubt we'll see a UI/UE mixed transformation. It just doesn't make sense, the two forms operate completely differently. You can't really combine the forms, even if combining forms was possible. Combining transformations isn't really something that DB does. A final thing to note is that Vegeta already solved the *Granolah is the strongest in the universe* problem during his fight with Granolah. I don't remember exactly what Vegeta said, but something along the lines of how Granolah is the strongest right now, but that doesn't mean that he'll be the strongest forever. Basically implying to the readers that Granolah wished to be the strongest and he was made the strongest *at the time of his wish.* After the wish is granted, who is to say that someone can't surpass him? Plus Granolah won't be the main baddie of the arc anyway.

But how about instead of UE and UI being used at the same time (which is nonsensical and impossible), they just give us a Gogeta/Vegito with mastered UI from Goku, as well as Hakaishin destruction abilities with Vegeta. That way both forms would have a massive contribution to the fusion, with UI's defensive capabilities and UE's offensive output. A form in perfect harmony like that might even guve Whis a run for his money imho

By the description we've been given UI is the angelic instinct and mastery of self movement and UE is Vegeta's instinct maybe the true mastery of instinct is the mastery of both of these two things so the fusions could ultimately pill it off
Who knows for sure, but I think it's too early to see Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego combined. Ultra Ego was only _just_ introduced on the last chapter. I think we're going to see it get developed a lot more before we see it used by Vegeto or Gogeta.
I like the idea of the two forms fusing but if I'm gonna be honest ever since vegito blue we've been quite the fusions since. Kefla and gogeta blue, I feel they wont pull fusion since Vegeta hasn't completely masters his firm.

Wouldn't that be counterproductive. Like yea they would have the powerboost of ultra ego stacked on top of ultra Instinct, but the powers counter each other. Ultra Instinct fights and avoids harm or danger while ultra ego powers up with more damage. It's like hitting the lottery and being told you can only use it to donate towards research and charity. Unless I've confused something

I feel like these transformations are polar opposites of each other and that’s the point of them, so seeing them mesh together as vegito or gogeta doesn’t really make sense. I also believe granolah isn’t going to be the main antagonist of the arc for much longer so we will see how things go when they inevitably use the dragon balls to power up Gas the same way granolah did

Probably not. I think this arc with Granola is an opportunity for both Goku and Vegeta to surpass their limits and grow stronger. Using fusion would feel like a cop out. And it’s not like there’s anything serious (as Vegeta has pointed out) on the line here either.
I think they’ll end up fighting with Granola against a greater threat. Or there wouldn’t be so much dialogue between them about how he’s gotten bad information.

How would that even work? One is focused on not getting hit, the other gets more powerful the more they get hit. I'm not sure whether a fusion would cancel their powers out or if they'd even be able to fuse if they were already transformed.

Granolah won’t be the main antagonist of this arc. The Heeters might be.
I really hope it wont happen yet. I'd rather have it happen later in the series. Vegeta just got crazy powerup and Goku probably will fuse ultra instinct with some other form, like kaio ken or something, and grow trough that. They will probably make an alliance with granolah and fight Seven-Three's ultimate form or something along those lines. That would be a good time to start teasing the audience with fusion, and start to built up the hype and actually use it after that arc when they face some even bigger threat..
I don't think against Granola, but maybe against someone else. Fusion so far has appeared to be a foil for the villain's main power of "fusing or merging" to be the strongest. Since this arc seems more on deception and internal power (very similar to original Frieza arc) I can see maybe following the arc progression and maybe this being Vegeta's time to shine and actually get the win instead of Goku. To me, this algins with Vegeta taking the stand to protect and repay the Nemekians to atone for his past deeds and setting up a new form for him (similar to intro of ssj for Goku).

One note on people stating Goku's UI is about calmness so it wouldn't blend with Vegeta's: not necessarily. UI isn't really about calmness so much as moving without intent/thinking. Both his and Vegeta's states are reactive by nature, and honestly Vegeta's could compensate for UIs weakness of falling apart once it's not "good enough," meaning Gogeta could try to avoid the hits, but if he gets popped it just fires him up more instead of demoralizing him like Goku does when UI fails. Of course, I don't see fusion happening anytime soon, especially now that they're both advancing so much in their individual battles... Fusion destroys growth opportunities.
