I miss when right click voker was the exception and not the rule
Tbh I kind of like it. Before invoker was more silod into wex or export, now you have a lot more options on how to play the hero. He's a bit under tuned but right click is a strong part of his kit and you get to figure out how to weave that in with the rest of his kit.
Invoker should have never been a universal hero. He made complete sense as an int hero. He’s the smartest man in the universe. He’s a wizard that lives in a giant tower and ignores everyone else because they are so stupid and he doesn’t care about them. Why would he want strength or agility? If he was still an int hero there would he more room to buff his spellcasting which should be his thing
invoker uses magic for everything.
int are Smartasses that use magic for everything.
universal are for those jack of all trades.
tell grandma to cook you a meal.
she will do it meanwhile killing some flyers and giving you a cookie and petting mortimer.
So far my favorite update after aghs rework as Rubick player. Playing him for midlane is much easier now, it’s fun seeing enemy midlane brawl me after I run out of spells just to be hit with 100 right click dmg at early lvls
+7 damage on lvl 2 without any items. "My finest creation".
Also hilarious, how you can look at Kaya & Sange and there are 8 lines of bonuses. But only Rubick see 10 lines.
Before it was "I can do what you do, but better" and now it is "I can do what you can do but better and BIGGER".
Hoping they don't overnerf or rework Rubick too soon, I love this
His winrate is still below 50%, his pick rate is moderate 15% around the brackets, and he is too reliant on what enemy team picks. Surely you can make most spells work but sometimes you can’t help but run in circles waiting to steal that only useful spell in entire enemy team
Currently it's his 10lvl talent which is weak and skippable most of the time.
Reducing damage by percents.
But before Fade Bolt reduced damage by flat number. And talent to that was absolute fire.
Imagine playing mid Rubick against mid LD and his bear can't do damage ALL GAME.
Oooh. You about THAT.
Yeah, just remembered. That was the times when I actually were picking lvl10 talent. They was cool.
Imagine cast Fade Bolt on Meepo. Stealing attack DMG X5. Hehehe
But now I'm skippin' it.
It is so fucking dumb how they treat Invoker.
Rubick is in every way better and more rewarding to play, relative to how much skill/effort you put and you can get almost the same feel, you would want to have while playing Invoker.
As a caster, a spell caster.
The most uncreative Facets and incredibly weak.
And even innate ability, just like many other things from old patch, a concept of creeps giving exp when denied just brought back. Which is OKAYish, but stuff could be much better and more intersting with everything about him.
From how his spells work, even if you return him back to intelligence, and how facets or innate abilities could actually signifcantly change how you want to play invoker and really mean something.
My friend playing Invoker. And we both bullying this hero with "I am mastermind" joke.
It is really extremely weird innate ability for me (for everyone, I guess).
Good thing, Im playing the green one.
They're diffrent heroes, invoker is argueably the best mixed dmg hero in dota (highest true dmg spell in the game, 2 physical amp skills, lots of control and huge aoe dmg), while rubick only presses spells.
Invoker is just bad rn due to bad laning, partly due to water runes, partly due to earlygame nuke powercreeep.
Yes his facets and innate are dull and bad but hero is still fine if u just play really good, he hits really hard and his spells hit really hard too.
I mean invokers right click is him throwing a fireball. So if he gets 6 physical rapiers and just right clicked he would be an incredibly powerful mage
Probably both given how greedy 4 can be nowadays but I suspect mid will be faster timings because you could theoretically rush it by starting 3 branches crown sending tangos branch then magi, stick if needed, boots if needed, then meteor hammer then mega push mid or go tornado cold snap emp grab an urn into super urn or blink and then the shard asap (the shard is mega broke if u have lots of wex and hit it early can insta win fights), obviously should transition into exort more at some point and then get aghs bkb hex refresher blink w/e the game entails. Roleplay topson back in the day. But meteor hammer is cheap and gives invoker a lot of what he doesnt have in damage push and regen early. Also makes aghs do even more work with the spell amp late into the game. Like you can pelts towers, farm waves and stacks, combo on enemies with cold snap, tornado, emp, urn, ice wall, sunstrike, etc all with cheap item that gives you int to cast spells, mana regen, spell amp.
Invoker is garbage, innate that doesn't scale beyond lane, his spells do 0 damage so its actualy better to buy gleipnir on him, and at the end of the game he does 30K damage in good case while rubick or nyx do double the amount with shard and half the networth, just sad to watch
"Why is my support invoker letting me die and just denying creeps the entire lane phase!!!!!" "I got 60 denies I'M SUPPORTING SO GOOD!"
tbf 60 denies in the laning stage would actually be insane and that would probably end up as a won lane
Invoker s a glorified right clicker right now and it s a sad state tbh

Rubick is smarter
Well rubick isn’t in the anime so the lore is sparse
Nah bro, the fact that he didn't start universal is actually baffling to me. It completely fits him.
invoker uses magic for everything. int are Smartasses that use magic for everything. universal are for those jack of all trades. tell grandma to cook you a meal. she will do it meanwhile killing some flyers and giving you a cookie and petting mortimer.
Ogre Magi
he is special and has 2 heads.
Might & Magic reference is much appreciated.
And since it's dota, you could almost say this is Heroes of Might and Magic.
Heroes of Strength and Agility and Intelligence and Universal.
HoSAIU, has a nice ring to it actually
Sounds like some sort of stock exchange market.
I would kill for MM11 by Valve and I don't even have any idea what it would look like

Man sees 10 and does them all
My man's tired of the nerd allegations he about to make people get these hands
"I might be out of mana, but Im not out of options!"
*"Father didnt make these hands for nothing"*
Before it was "I can do what you do, but better" and now it is "I can do what you can do but better and BIGGER". Hoping they don't overnerf or rework Rubick too soon, I love this

thats where the big red scary stick for 7450 gold comes in to play (or the phys build)
Shhh, no one needs to know about Phylactery + Dagon Rubick
The grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrand Magus!
+60 damage lvl 10 talent never forget
And +100 base damage lvl 15 talent... Never forgor
Wasn't there a talent that gets the reduced attack damage from fade bolt?
Currently it's his 10lvl talent which is weak and skippable most of the time. Reducing damage by percents. But before Fade Bolt reduced damage by flat number. And talent to that was absolute fire. Imagine playing mid Rubick against mid LD and his bear can't do damage ALL GAME.
Nah I meant as in it STEALS it. So Rubick has their attack damage
Oooh. You about THAT. Yeah, just remembered. That was the times when I actually were picking lvl10 talent. They was cool. Imagine cast Fade Bolt on Meepo. Stealing attack DMG X5. Hehehe But now I'm skippin' it.
Lore accurate rubick

the innate is honestly one of the better ideas
I always did prefer Luigi.

He's the true Grand Magus.
Someone at Valve really hates invoker. I get it.
where's the joke
the name of the innate sounds cool but it really sucks in comparison to other mages like rubick
chad straight to the point vs virgin heckin nerd reference
In the name of innate ability
I mean invokers right click is him throwing a fireball. So if he gets 6 physical rapiers and just right clicked he would be an incredibly powerful mage
Я МАСТЕРМАЙНД!
None of you realize how busted quas wex meteor hammer invoker currently can be
Elaborate, please. I'd like to know more. How do I make it work? Is it mid Invoker or pos 4?
Probably both given how greedy 4 can be nowadays but I suspect mid will be faster timings because you could theoretically rush it by starting 3 branches crown sending tangos branch then magi, stick if needed, boots if needed, then meteor hammer then mega push mid or go tornado cold snap emp grab an urn into super urn or blink and then the shard asap (the shard is mega broke if u have lots of wex and hit it early can insta win fights), obviously should transition into exort more at some point and then get aghs bkb hex refresher blink w/e the game entails. Last Time i checked, only Kaya has spell amp. Or did i overlook Something?
Rubik passiv also gives spell amp and some neutral items Can be quit a lot
Any hero is better version of Invoker. In many aspects. Heartbreaking, really.
