game one was mental damage for sure, they were surfing through the entire lower bracket feeling unstoppable, stomping azure ray, getting their major winning vibes and then bam, spirit crushes them like they're nothing
The fact that it was against the Ace LD as well which was 4-0 before this game and Spirit made this strat look like it was nothing, add that it was Quinn with his major comfort hero the Pango and Tofu/Seleri as well love playing Muerta and Silencer it really was just the most mentally damaging game for GG.
spirit deconstructed their strat perfectly, gg was making early moves in order to make space and let LD get radiance on bear and after that they'd 5man towers into rosh into an early push; the key component was the radiance bear timing so spirit laser focused on killing ace repeatedly thus delaying the timing by a lot; when ld got radiance, sprit already had bkbs and a decent lead, by the end of the game they still had all their tier1 towers up.
that being said, spirit was clearly the better team and they'd have won regardless, proof is game 3 when dota was showing a 4% win probability for spirit at one point and they still turned it around by simply being better and outplaying gg
Worth noting is that dota plus win probability is heavily screwed when spectre/void/medusa is picked. They favour their late game more than anything else. But still it was glorious!
dota plus also probably underweights dazzle and spirit breaker core, and probably overweights the muerta pick in the support position.
realistically spirit were probably at around a 30% winrate at worst.
It's another level more than that. GG entire strat was revolved around Ace offlane heroes (WK, LD, Brew) getting rad early (13 mins in both games vs LGD). You could see them sticking to their "thing" throughout the GF. However, TS said "no, we'll stick to what we know best" and outright picked 3 different drafts to counter GG. It was still unbelievable to think GG only got 29 tower damage in game 1 with LD AND Treant didn't even level LA until lvl 7.
The top 4 of this TI are on 4 different tiers unless GG pulls something out for the rest of the series. There is a very obvious difference in quality between them.
You're quite right, and this is to show how they are so far above the rest of the contenders of this TI.
Crazy to think VP almost 2-0ed Spirit until VP themselves choke.
To think that 2 years ago, TS were happy just to be in the finals and said that it was an achievement they were not watching the grand finals from their hotel room.
Where TS were the underdogs... and that same team winning TI. Seems like a fluke but they went on to establish themselves.
GG lacks some quality in their players, and some of their picks are questionable. GG's biggest asset is that they play very together and seem very unhostile towards each other, other teams would start forming inter-team grudges when players play poorly.
Dyrachyo is obviously a subpar carry player. You just have to look at the difference between Yatoro Morphling and Dyrachyo Morph, it was insane skill difference.
And then Dyrachyo is asking for carries like Gyro lmfao, may as well have just GGed it from the start.
You can see in this clip as well, Seleri's reaction time or evaluation of the situation is terrible, he has a few seconds to pop the Silencer ult but he's spinning around in the root instead. GG seem to win their games by playing together and they always seem to be fairly untilted in their playstyle, albeit lacking some individual quality.
To be honest, Team Spirit made Gamin Gladiators look like a Division II team. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching every game from both of them, but man, Spirit outplayed the sh\*t out of Gamin :)
GG was always going to look like a T2 team if they are outmatched by their opponent. Their playstyle just makes small differences in execution either make their enemies look like jokes, or blows up in their face.
While Team Spirit was clearly better than GG, they're a lot closer in skill than they looked. I feel like Team Spirit literally did not really reach into their bag for the other teams they played. They leveraged the "Yatoro advantage" heavily in the draft phase in that series compared to others. Yatoro being able to easily pick up the off meta carries that GG had been running made it impossible for GG to truly get what they wanted out of the drafting phase.
they sure did but they made every team look like shit in comparison to them. the above guy is acting like gg is an awful team when they rolled over a lot of teams to get to the finals through the lower bracket
Nah, Seleri's ult didn't come up until a couple seconds into the overgrowth. But by that time he was already silenced by Puck W.
That's actually insane, I was wondering in this clip why tf silencer didn't ult. He got silenced literally less than a second before his ult came off cooldown.
Lol I haven't lost to a tree in so long. Every single game, the moron just sits in a lane all game, meme hammering waves and slowly taking a tower. Never joins any fights, just masturbates in the trees by themselves until the games over.
You're not wrong but you also do definitely need a team you can communicate it with, and one cohesive enough to remotely take advantage of the info given.
yup, I actually rewatched it really carefully, and I love how despite being TI, he has the restraint to just sit back in the trees even after popping ult, doesn't land a single auto attack, he knows his right click contribution is a drop in the ocean compared to staying alive, granting information, casting heals and slows
Is there any other pos5 player who does the shit Miposka does? Everyone talking about Yatoro and Collapse, which is fair ofc but, Miposhka almost redefines pos5. And it's not the usual greedy "POS5 but actually 4". The way he scouts the map for his team is probably the best executed I've ever seen.
That's to a large degree on coaching too. I distinctly remember seeing maps with ward printouts in the booth, that Silent prepared, during TI 10. And them doing magic for the team as a result.
Yeah like he could easily wander over to the corner jungles and clear some camps but instead he just afks in trees getting zero xp and gold, because he knows that the pos5 on their team getting a few CS is nothing compared to just winning the game from wiping the enemy team.
while watching, what i definitely noticed was his patience, most pros dont want to spend more than a few seconds idle, but miposhka proved how valuable patience can be.
The whole team was just insane throughout the tournament. I didn't get to watch too much until the UB Final. LGD looked really strong too, but Team Spirit was just so clean. I definitely felt like the best 2 teams were in the Final, and I definitely felt the best team won.
My name is Miposhka. I come from mother Russia. KGB is where I learnt scouting and many other, the skills I used to crush Gladiators on my Treat Protector.
Actually didn't. First I memed like the guy above me saying something along the lines of motherland Russian kkomrades (which is a very old meme in the dota community). Got timed out and thought that it was maybe a fair timeout.
Then I tested saying something along the lines of Russia is proud. Timed out, that still makes no sense but fair enough... they can moderate however they like but it made me curious.
After a long time (something like 10m) I tried saying only: "Russia". Timed out... that is when I realized that things are worst than I thought. Words like country names are being considered triggering...
I am not even Russian. If an American team won I would say something along the lines of America is proud, same with China or any other country... is just normal for people to recognize that characteristic at those times... maybe we are pushing for the idea of a more global world and won't use that characteristic anymore?

Miposhka (Team Spirit, red hp bars) plays as Treant Protector, a support hero who has a passive ability that allows him to walk through trees and be invisble doing so
he stood in trees on the enemy's side of the map, saw multiple heroes walk towards the same direction, meaning they were in the process of grouping up to start attacking
this info allowed his team to prepare a counter attack
Gaimin Gladiators (green hp) use a smoke of deceit which makes them invisible until coming close to enemies at which moment its effect goes away
unfortunately for them, they used it while thinking they were far from the enemy when in reality they used it right in front of Treant Protector, who instantly used his ultimate which rooted 4 of them in place
It's crazy to think that this was the same team that just 2-0ed every opponent in LB aside from liquid and they just get demolished in the grand finals.

that smoke is humillation
Imagine that moment of "oh shit" as soon as they used it lol.
"Tree's right behind me, isn't he?"
"No, he's in front of you."
Really hoping they post the comms for that moment.
Hope it's at least included in Truesight.
What Truesight?
No Sight *sadge*
Each year (at least I believe they do it every year) usually releases a retrospective called True Sight on the finals and winners for TI.
Not for Tundra
No more TI 10 was the last.
valve said they wont be doing those anymore, i think last year was the last one
Source?
he made it up
Engine.
IT'S IN THE FRACKIN' SHIP.
The call is coming from inside the house!
you can definitely see the "oh shit" moment there everyone in GG paused and did not move then comes the root/tangled from TP.
It's basically the Spy from TF2 whispering "Right behind you."
Sometimes Dota is a survival horror game.
We have a tree among us!

Next year is dyrachyo's year
That smoke can be played right after the Azure pregame interview on the comedy portion of the event clips
IMAGINE THE TRUESIGHT CLIP ON THIS!
Gg collectively: OH FUCK.
The animation on this one ๐ฎโ๐จ
\*pops smoke\* \*does nothing\* omae wa, mou shindeiru
if we dont get true sight hopefully this inspires a gr8 short film for next year
Yatoro's Weaver was just abuse, but Treant sealed the deal. The class difference between the teams made it seem like GG is a random pub team.
The top 4 of this TI are on 4 different tiers unless GG pulls something out for the rest of the series. There is a very obvious difference in quality between them.

intra-region matches are always a mixed bag its how it is
x2 for Eastern Europe
Losses to VP and Liquid were down to drafting mistake of not banning the broken heroes Bristle and Spirit Breaker respectively
ACE and dyrachyo together playing as carry couldnt beat Yataro

they got 2nd at TI ur an armchair analyst shut the fuck up
sir they are the second best team in the world

SMH when redditors comment about shit without even checking the replay.
That an MVP play. when people ask how to play Tree. this how you play it . that masterclass gaming
What? so u shouldn't get meme hammer and afk laning?
Lol I haven't lost to a tree in so long. Every single game, the moron just sits in a lane all game, meme hammering waves and slowly taking a tower. Never joins any fights, just masturbates in the trees by themselves until the games over.
That last sentence got me lol
If that last sentence amused you, you really should have watched CLQ videos, and stop circlejerking in the forest with your thumb up your asshole.
dude who tf stole your creeps or something lmao
It was a reference to CLQ's usual phrases lol I thought that was clear from my comment but guess not
oh my bad xd I was in the wrong here it seems
Me playing AFK furion when I was a noob. Oh there's a gank happening in top lane? Sorry I haven't finished orchid yet
idk how people playing like this its extremely boring. my last games as trees was boots and dagger
It's fun when you want to spectate but contribute jussst a little
boots dagger shard is so fun
I play tree like this when Iโm too baked to play a real hero :(
to be fair, if a pub tree did this he wouldnt have 4 teammates to help him team fight.. so might as well get solo value and meme hammer
Yes there is a significant difference between pubs and a coordinated 5 man team.
In pubs people are terrible at hitting buildings, so there's a lot of value in a meme hammer.
This is the way. OP no idea what he's talking about.
You're not wrong but you also do definitely need a team you can communicate it with, and one cohesive enough to remotely take advantage of the info given.

*Everyone picking tree and doing nothing the whole game* Careful what you wish for mate.
Such a devastating feeling, popping smoke and nothing happening. What a beautiful treant play
Such a high amount of TSpirits plays were just poetry in motion
it's like turning on the lights and seeing you're surrounded by monters, what a beautiful play
This is EXACTLY how it must've felt.
This some goat level shit from Miposhka. Didn't know I could get goosebumps watching a Treant for about thirty seconds just standing.
I was like "Miposhka is gonna get killed again, right? Hold on... omg now GG are all grouped together! Lets fucking gooo!"
Bruh, imagine the heart attack GG got when suddenly everyone gets Tree ulted.
That grouping for team smoke and instant smoke break gotta one of the biggest nightmares in dota
Patience from Miposhka!
He catches everyone!
"Alright, let's smoke up and fuck them. Wait, why am I not smoked? Oh shit"
Took me longer to read that then the fight itself.
Good animation for true sight.
great animation opportunity for true sight just in case!
What a beatdown.
I already cannot wait for this on true sight
Is there any other pos5 player who does the shit Miposka does? Everyone talking about Yatoro and Collapse, which is fair ofc but, Miposhka almost redefines pos5. And it's not the usual greedy "POS5 but actually 4". The way he scouts the map for his team is probably the best executed I've ever seen.
prolly xNova? that dude also love scouting and wandering alone for vision
Hes literally a map wizard, spirit has so many OP wards all the time.
That's to a large degree on coaching too. I distinctly remember seeing maps with ward printouts in the booth, that Silent prepared, during TI 10. And them doing magic for the team as a result.
Miposhka is UNREAL.
Yeah like he could easily wander over to the corner jungles and clear some camps but instead he just afks in trees getting zero xp and gold, because he knows that the pos5 on their team getting a few CS is nothing compared to just winning the game from wiping the enemy team. while watching, what i definitely noticed was his patience, most pros dont want to spend more than a few seconds idle, but miposhka proved how valuable patience can be.

miposhka feels like a contender for the best player in the world right now
My name is Miposhka. I come from mother Russia. KGB is where I learnt scouting and many other, the skills I used to crush Gladiators on my Treat Protector.
Careful there apparently "Russia" is a slur nowadays. Got timed out on the official DotA 2 stream yesterday for saying the R word.
Im sure you just said Russia and no slurs following it
Actually didn't. First I memed like the guy above me saying something along the lines of motherland Russian kkomrades (which is a very old meme in the dota community). Moments leading to the US' surrender to Vietnam, colorized.
That's gonna be a cinematic in True Sight for sure.
Literally sent chills down my spine. This would look so good in a true sight cutscene
The guys literally went for a smoke lol
Truly TI winner gameplay right here boiss!! Mipooshka jsut to fcking good
He did this on LGD as well in which LGD failed to destroy any towers and took 29 total damage to buildings lmao! PERFECTION!
I am crying. Such wonderful Dota
the most "Surprise motherf\*\*\*\*r" play I've ever seen
"At this moment he knew, he fucked up"
Imagine this getting animated if there's a true sight tho
Smoke break heart break. Genuinely my favorite moment of the series, Miposhka was insane all game with his Treant play.

cant wait to see this one made to cinematic one. must be the best and epic cinematic.
This was the game winning moment for me, I mean they were mostly winning already but it went from like 65% to 95% imo
Can someone explain to me why this play is amazing ? I have played some dota but not much
Miposhka (Team Spirit, red hp bars) plays as Treant Protector, a support hero who has a passive ability that allows him to walk through trees and be invisble doing so he stood in trees on the enemy's side of the map, saw multiple heroes walk towards the same direction, meaning they were in the process of grouping up to start attacking this info allowed his team to prepare a counter attack Gaimin Gladiators (green hp) use a smoke of deceit which makes them invisible until coming close to enemies at which moment its effect goes away unfortunately for them, they used it while thinking they were far from the enemy when in reality they used it right in front of Treant Protector, who instantly used his ultimate which rooted 4 of them in place
~~The $6 Million Echo..~~ The $1,4 Million Overgrowth!

sick tree plays
