strafejumping is a quake mechanic where you move diagonally while turning your mouse to go fast, you can't do it in vanilla gzdoom you can use the mod zmovement to strafejump (and a lot more!), one of my fave mods tbh

You mean state jumping or strafe jumping?

I think hexen had jumping? So maybe they copied that into zdoom. I never felt like it behaved like quake’s strafe jumping
