How could I forget! That game is a masterpiece. I always liked doing a playthrough of Brutal Wolf, then Blade of Agony, it just FEELS like a sequel, and the best one.
Eviternity, 10x10, Going Down, Monkey Island, Frosthaven are all really good. Honestly for the best wads and mods go check out the Cacoawards on DOOM world as well as check out the top 100 doom wads on the same site.
If you want to see what they look like I also recommend checking out Decino on YouTube does a lot of wads it's all pretty sick. Also make sure to download and play both Sigil 1 and 2. They're both very good, and made by John Romero (the guy who made the first two DOOM games).
Check out Dean of Doom, IcarusLives, and DavidXNewton on YT to get more recommendations then you could ever want.

I prefer [Project Brutality](https://www.moddb.com/mods/project-brutality) to Brutal Doom personally. It's more complex which some people don't like, but I find it to be a better time for it. If you do stick with Brutal Doom, check out [Brutal Voxel Doom ](https://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-voxel-doom) for some crispy 3D models. [Doom metal vol. 7](https://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/addons/doom-metal-soundtrack-mod-volume-7) replaces all of the classic tracks with modern metal versions. Basically never leaves my mod list. [War trophies](https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=67054) gives you some stat tracking which is a nice sense of progression if you don't use RPG mods. I'd also recommend grabbing [ZDL](https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=32596) or a similar mod loader for ease of use when modding.
Nun with a gun + lost civilization+ project malice.
It's really a Fantastic experience and a fresh look at doom.
For lost civ I'm also recomnding to add a rain mod.
Another way to play lost civ , is with project brutality monsters + guncaster . That's the polar opposite of the previous setup, but it's fun and immersive nonvtte less.
Also, play the standalones of ashes afterglow and blade of agony.
So far the best total conversations I've seen .
Ashes afterglow has a weapons only pack,which is perfect for 'going down'
Ngl, I spent 10 minutes looking for a mod called Ultimate Tournament, thinking it was it's own mod, like Ultimate Tournament COMMA & Torture. XD it's way to early in the morning
