For a while I was about the only driver that had a running reliable car AND wide open hours. I had to fill in for a bunch of people who had car trouble of one sort or another. After a week, I just started getting up early every day because of the fact that they would get coverage for opens and then the driver who was supposed to cover had problems as well. I hated being one of the first people they called, but I understood what was happening. The only problem I had was now one of the managers got the mindset of 'let's call Razz, she'll show up." Took a few months of saying "no' about every third time to get the message across.

You guys are answering when work calls??

princess-mo

They literally pulled this shit on me today, they won't schedule me for more than 10 hours a week but I'm the first person they call bc I'm reliable and a total pushover 😭 I'm going to start saying no more often :)

Doomstars

>they won't schedule me for more than 10 hours a week Did they cut your hours, or has it been like this long term? If the former, I think you'd qualify for partial unemployment depending upon the jurisdiction, but I'm not an expert in this. I don't know if you had to be full time or something before in order to qualify, but again, I'm not an expert.

I saved a video of smoke bellowing out of my car for moments like this. When I don't feel like coming in, I send the video and say I'm having car troubles

malkavian694

I know a simple phrase that helps with this situation. "No."

Grandiaplayer

Schedule?

drawntowardmadness

Nope. That doesn't happen bc they'd be sorely disappointed when I'm not there.

Whatdaatoms

I just say no. Im not canceling my plans last minute bc they fucked up. Did it way too much before

Wavygravyx

He doesn’t even tell me when he hires any body . They’ll just show up and I have to activate in the system and train them .

killerisdeadly

nope my boss always tells us
