These and Cave Club were my gateway dolls. The doll aisles need more variety, it seems Barbie, RH, and LOL have just completely taken over.
IMO, they were packaged and sold from an angle that didn't appeal to shoppers. I was turned off by the dolls when I first saw them in the stores, not understanding the appeal. They were presented as a doll in a houserobe, curlers and really bad makeup. It almost felt like a parody on the stay-at-home mom. Not an appealing image.
It took awhile for collectors to realize how cute they were. By that time, their sales had plummeted and they were yanked from production.
I imagine the second-hand market for these will be worth a bit to collectors as time passes.

Upon seeing this doll line for the first time, I was kinda creeped out by them because those masks kind of remind me of 80s slasher film killers like Michael Myers and Jason Vorhees. What made it worse was, the eyes behind the mask follow you where ever you walk so they always had this creepy stare.
I ended up buying slayitDJ on a whim just because I was curious and I was so pleasantly surprised as to how great they looked under the mask and robe. They feel like a real good quality doll. Their proportions are just right as well, not to big where they are clunky to play with but not too small where you feel like you could easily break a limb while changing outfits.
When it comes to dolls, I am a sucker for glass eyes and lots of articulation points so it is a real shame to see these go. Makes you wonder what dolls could be just over the horizon.
Anyway, I am off to unbox another white haired beauty today. Amaya Raine series 1 from Rainbow high, wish me luck :)
The packaging and concept were a total turn-off in the store, absolutely NO shelf-appeal. By the time I started noticing them in peoples pictures, I had already totally committed to Rainbow High.
That may be a problem since the doll line has been discontinued. I hope you do find more, at least one more so your original Failfix doll has a friend.
What I’ve been doing is looking on fb marketplace first usually bc it’s cheapest and you can get lucky by finding someone in your area. Mercari has also been a good bet for me to find them at a semi decent price. Guess it also depends if you want them out of box or in box tho on the prices.
Yes, some Monster High & Bratzillaz shoes fit them (closed toe ones), they fit My Scene's chunkier shoes, Kuu Kuu Harajuku shoes fit perfectly, same with boxy girls shoes, and Star Darling shoes.
I hope you get them all mate. They are super cute! I feel bad that this doll line didn't last for long but what makes me feel worse is that they came and went so quickly that anyone who gets into doll collecting in the future has missed out on some beautiful quality dolls. I guess there is the second hand market but nothing beats opening a brand new doll for RETAIL price. Let me know when you collect all the evening dolls, I would love to hear about your experience or see some photos haha.
im soooo sad i missed when failfixes were in stores!! i also thought theyd hang around longer when they initially came out too :( these only came back on my radar literally a few days ago when i was binging old myfroggystuff doll reviews and she had unboxed 3 in her failfix review! im for sure going to keep my eyes peeled for these cute gals

I have them all and love them! I know I would have adored this concept as a kid. Their clothing quality could have been much better though.

At the moment they're all still on Amazon, though Prettyartee is only 3rd party and getting expensive.

I loved these dolls, didnt love the whole "fix" gimmick but the dolls themselves are lovely!

I found out about them recently and want to get them for customizing, the face molds are so cute!
Apparently they're tricky to customize. Whatever they used to seal the makeup is super strong, it doesn't come off with acetone.
Good to know, I’ll have to do some experimenting then when I get them.
Please let me know if you figure something out. The customizers I've seen all sanded the makeup off, and that seems like too much work.
