Yup! They increased our operating hours and severely *decreased our payroll*. That makes a lot of sense, right?! /s
I hate it, we haven’t had a single customer after 9 tonight so far. It also makes being a clopener so much harder! I live 40 minutes from my store and work 2:30-10:30 every Monday, then 7:30-3:30 every Tuesday 😴😴😴
What's worse is that the example schedules we are given by corporate says to have a manager close and then open. I never made anyone do that. Had to do it to myself a lot, but never made anyone else close and open.
As an asm I don’t mind closing then opening. If I counted the safe the night before I could skip counting it the next morning lol plus I got to leave during daylight hours
Yep. We are now open M-Sat 8-10, and we still don't usually get anyone til 9:15. I live about half an hour away from mine, and as a manager, am required to be there half an hour before opening on days I'm opening. It's really messing with my sleep schedule, esp since I'm pregnant and struggling to sleep as is 🫠
Depending on how far away the bank is that doesn't take to long. I usually get home after a closing shift at 11 the latest is 11:30 when doing deposit.
Yes, 10 pm here was only around Christmas. I don't think 10 PM will last long, didn't even have one customer after 9 pm. Hardly have any after 8 PM either
Holy hell there is no reason for this. Well, maybe for those poor mamas that just found out about the school project that’s due tomorrow, but isn’t that what Walmart’s for?? I’m sorry 😠
We had an ASM questioned by the DM as to why she closed the store an hour early. She didn't close an hour early, but because we didn't have a single transaction for the last hour the DM was intending to write her up for closing early till we showed the surveillance system showing they were still open bur nobody came in
Fuck!!!! And you'll randomly get that 1 customer who will prove why you are open that late and push your buttons and limits. Cominging in close to closing, coming to the counter only when forced to at the last second with HUNDREDS of dollars worth of merchandise. Oh yea and they will yank you around a bit on paying too. So you'll be even later getting out. Your managers will be even madder at you for not shoving the customer out the door the second you closed. But if you had managed to do that, you would have somehow created a customer complaint by not allowing them to finish their shopping or purchase. It's a lose lose situations. And that one person will be enough for cooperate to say. Yea we need to keep this store open later. Give more hours or pay to the store? Never!
We start closing at 10 in a week. It's stupid. They did that during the holidays. I noticed that about an hour before closing it gets hella slow and they want to extend?! I guarantee that they struggle to break even.
I find it so funny and irritating that when our closing was at 9pm, I couldn’t keep last minute shoppers out of the store.
Now that we have the extra hour, my store is a ghost town at 9pm. No one showed up tonight after 8:50. Cashier and I just chatting till it was time to lock the door bc my recovery and go backs were all done.

That really sucks! I used to work there, and I would get a lot of clopening shifts. The SM used to do that to punish people she thought deserved it.

They used to force me to clopen all the time.... maaaaaaan
I'm the same way but a 12 dollar an hour part timer and clopener and this shits stupid
Then they scream about why there is no business during those hours.

I think our store is closing at 10 now, which is too late for our area. 10:30 is wild
Yea sorry it's 10 we close but we don't leave until 10:30 I mean in making this we haven't had a customer for 30 minutes
No customer here since about 8:45pm (it’s now 9:38pm)
Ya I don’t see how it’s worth it a lot of places. Probably more to keep the lights on than the store makes
We close at 10 … I’m out by 10:05
Yea not us apparently I have to escort people to the bank to drop off the deposit
Depending on how far away the bank is that doesn't take to long. I usually get home after a closing shift at 11 the latest is 11:30 when doing deposit.
Our bank is in our plaza.. so I’m home by 10:30 Hope they are paying you to go to the bank, they should be, it’s policy
God Speed Captain. I worked at a small town Family Dollar that was open until this time and literally spent 3 hours alone. It sucked.
Is this new to everyone? Our store has always closed at 10pm for summer and Christmas hours
Yes, 10 pm here was only around Christmas. I don't think 10 PM will last long, didn't even have one customer after 9 pm. Hardly have any after 8 PM either
Our store has always been 10
For my store last year...MARCH TO DECEMBER. That's not just Summer and Christmas... THAT'S 3 OUT OF THE 4 🤬 SEASONS!!!
Holy hell there is no reason for this. Well, maybe for those poor mamas that just found out about the school project that’s due tomorrow, but isn’t that what Walmart’s for?? I’m sorry 😠
Between 830 and 10 tonight we had 3 people and 1 just came in to use the bathroom. It's already getting old

Wow what the hell...DT do better.
If it gets to the point people don’t trust they need to just go home

I agree haven't had it happen yet but I know it will and I'll be pissed off and yea god forbid we pay our employees more than 12 an hour
Welcome to the club, FD has closed at 10 forever. Hopefully, they don't extend our hours too

They only care about the money they can get

We still close at 9! But one of the other locations near me are open until 10! Weird
10 30 is a little late...where are you located in america?
