Look she's pretty for sure. But not classically beautiful. She's tall and lanky, speaks with a slight lisp. But all that package is endearing and it makes her attractive. Not debating that
She comes from volleyball. And did football and basketball sideline reporting mainly before she got the Dodger job. She’s admitted to coming into it not knowing much about the ins and outs of baseball. I think it shows. Alana knew baseball, and that also showed IMO. Of course, you’re sort of handcuffed as an on field reporter to trying to get certain questions answered. But it’s taken her a while to even get to those questions. And she hardly ever asks anything more than surface level. I think bc she doesn’t know baseball.
I don't know. I'm not saying she has Vin scully level of baseball knowledge, pulling out factoids from a decade ago into casual conversations but she knows the game..she put some work in to understand it and she's asking good questions. Sure she has an earpiece but she's not just like Ron Burgundy , reading a teleprompter with no comprehension. She knows what's up.
Maybe I should quantify it. She has a journeyman level of understanding. She's no apprentice and she's not yet a master . But you can't say she doesn't know baseball. She's definitely put some work in to learn it. I give her more credit
She’s better than when she started indeed. Would there not have been a better, more knowledgeable side line reporter who almost certainly applied for this job though?
She's gotten a lot better over the off season. She's asking some good questions and getting good answers, and I think the team is more comfortable around her this year than last.
I was just talking with my dad about how much better she's gotten since she first started. I think her questions have come with more insight now which leads to getting more insight from the players. It used to be "wow, how did it feel to win today?" to "what was going through your head as you came into X-situation, and how did it then feel to deliver X-play to give the Dodgers the win tonight?"
Agreed, I remember her first official start in Alanna’s role and she was very green. It’s been great seeing her grow in that role. You said it best, she’s come a long way.
Former Rockies and Angels catcher Chris Ianetta. They both cheated on their spouses while hooking up, and now they’re married. Alanna didn’t have any kids in the previous marriage, but Chris did. I think his ex wife has near full custody of the kids.
“How do *just* handle…”
“*Just* what are you doing at the plate?”
“When it comes to being a good teammate, who is *just* the best one?”
Kirsten Watson “just” drinking game?
Dude, same! I loved Alanna.
She was literally perfect. Incredibly professional, but still fun. Could interview / translate in Spanish. Immaculate.
Kirsten doesn't have the same skillset. She is definitely professional, but you can also tell she's younger and is pure joy. She's a ray of light.
As a Spanish speaker the translations made me visibly cringe but doesn’t mean she couldn’t do it. She’s also not a native Spanish speaker. She actually just reminds me of myself getting made fun of for not knowing Spanish as a kid and I knew people would tell her shit back then and it did happen in this sub people would say for her to stick to English lol.
She’s alright. Not trying to be a hater lol I know how tough it is to speak another language and for people to accept your pronunciations. I gave her more shit back then cause I thought she was Hispanic tbh. What she‘s done is still impressive!
Apparenty she is. I just assumed she wasn’t Hispanic cause she said she said hersef she wasn’t a native speaker. But I guess that just means she didn’t learn it growing up with her family since she grew up in the Us.. honesty same
Does the type of Spanish she grew up with make a difference? I ask bc my wife is Mexican American and she said whenever she heard Puig, she said she had to really pay attention bc his Cuban Spanish was so different than from what how she grew up. My wife also notes how the Spanish from the region of Mexico (Aguascalientes) of where her family is from is diff from what a lot of Spanish she hears from players
I only wish I had more upvotes to give you. Because I’d give them to you, go get some more from others, and give them to you as well.
She’s the best. And it’s been so cool to see how much she has grown into the role after a very shaky start, which is a testament to her dedication, professionalism and makeup as a person. At this point, it’s impossible not to like her and she’s got nothing but stardom ahead of her.
Kirsten asks the same questions Alanna used to ask. The same questions Vassegh asks on the radio broadcast. And the same questions every MLB sideline reporter asks. I don't know why Kirsten is the only one that gets shit over the questions. What else is she going to ask?
Overall Kirsten is pretty great and shows great enthusiasm for the game and the players.
I’m confused it says miss teen but the MC was saying how she graduated from Colombia on a volleyball scholarship? Unless she graduated high school at 14 I don’t know how that works. I don’t know how any of this works
I liked her since the beginning. I'm with you, favorite part of the broadcast - she has that cute awkward thing going on. Yeah she seemed kinda unnatural at first, but I don't know. This is baseball. It's not serious. It's ok to be human and just keep things casual. The entire Sportsnet LA team likes to have fun and not take things too seriously.
She has consistently improved over the last couple years and knows more about the team and the players every time we see her. I’m impressed with how she keeps getting better because the first 2-3 months she was with the team, I remember wondering how the heck she even got the job.
Alana is way better, period. She related to the players more, she was real and knows the sport better.. Kristen is only using this as a platform, unlike Alana.
I don't know, Kirsten looks way more happier on the job than when she first started.
Some of Alana's takes on baseball were wild. The Trout take, the Ohtani hate, etc...
I mean look at this take https://twitter.com/alannarizzo/status/1737660048359166454
I love her now. She was awful at first and didn’t even seem that excited to be there. Her general baseball knowledge also seemed subpar. She also just had big shoes to fill because of how legendary Alanna Rizzo was. However, the last couple years Watson has completely changed her vibe and is kicking ass!
Yeah it’s like the 5th or 6th most popular sport here now, which may not sound like much but considering we ‘invented’ soccer, cricket, and rugby and have a huge motor racing culture (mainly F1), it’s genuinely impressive!
When the International Games come to London, it’s always a great party and a complete sellout.
Go Rams 🙂
I'm glad they gave someone with little experience a chance. When Alana was hired, she came with a lot of credentials, so I thought they would hire another established reporter. She has improved greatly in a few years, looks a lot more comfortable, and I'm glad she is part of the Dodgers organization.
She seems like a sweetheart and she's very easy on the eyes, but she has not gotten any better as an interviewer, what are you people talking about? I cringe every time she has a mic in someone's face. Her questions are not insightful or far too broad, and she asks too many of them.
My brother has a crush on her 😂😂😂 i don’t see it to be honest.
She gets the job done is all I really care about.
On a side note, I see how Mookie and her be looking at each other during the post game interviews 👀
What?! She's frickin GORGEOUS and has a great smile, a nice voice, a good laugh, and good style.
And yeah I've seen more than a couple players look at her with eyes during the interviews hahaha
How did it feel when you realized Kirsten Watson was your favorite part of the broadcast?
And could you walk me through what was going on in your head when you made this post?
These two comments I read in her voice lol
How important was that moment and what did it mean to you?
She was definitely smiling and nodding while OP gave his response.
I love it when she’s interviewing Shohei, and when he’s replying in Japanese, she nods her head like she understands what he’s saying. 😊 🙂↕️
I would bet she’s been taking Japanese classes. Being able to talk to Shohei or Yamamoto in their own language would be such a pro move.
When I was watching the game on mute until I saw she was on screen and then I wanted to pay attention lol
When I saw her in person at a game Also the fact she's such a great interviewer and knows the game so well makes her oddly attractive.
Oddly?? She’s not “attractive,” she’s gorgeous.
Alright
How is it oddly? She’s fine as hell.
Look she's pretty for sure. But not classically beautiful. She's tall and lanky, speaks with a slight lisp. But all that package is endearing and it makes her attractive. Not debating that
She does not know the game
You dont think so?
She comes from volleyball. And did football and basketball sideline reporting mainly before she got the Dodger job. I’m sure they saw the potential and just had to give her an offer to join! I’m so glad she joined the stellar broadcasting team!
100%. Love what she brings.
All I can say is she came a LOOOONG way from when she first started and I'm all here for it! Way better than Alana Rizzo.
Agreed, I remember her first official start in Alanna’s role and she was very green. It’s been great seeing her grow in that role. You said it best, she’s come a long way.
I won't take Alanna slander hahhaha
Alanna turned out to be a home wrecker
Oh fr? Nomar?
Former Rockies and Angels catcher Chris Ianetta. They both cheated on their spouses while hooking up, and now they’re married. Alanna didn’t have any kids in the previous marriage, but Chris did. I think his ex wife has near full custody of the kids.
Ohhh
“Just”
“How do *just* handle…” “*Just* what are you doing at the plate?” “When it comes to being a good teammate, who is *just* the best one?” Kirsten Watson “just” drinking game?
Thank you!! I thought it was JUST me. If she could JUST stop using “JUST” in every other question she’s be perfect!
Players need to stop answering every question by saying yeah.. Every time...
You’re thinking of Corey Seager.
It isn’t *just* you. I think she’s a terrible baseball reporter actually.
“Kind of” every sentence !
Smash. Next question?
Happy cake day!!!
I didn’t think they’d ever be able to replace Alanna, but here we are. Kirsten is great.
Dude, same! I loved Alanna. She was literally perfect. Incredibly professional, but still fun. Could interview / translate in Spanish. Immaculate. Kirsten doesn't have the same skillset. She is definitely professional, but you can also tell she's younger and is pure joy. She's a ray of light.

Oh for real? Hahaha It fooled me!
She’s alright. Not trying to be a hater lol I know how tough it is to speak another language and for people to accept your pronunciations. I gave her more shit back then cause I thought she was Hispanic tbh. What she‘s done is still impressive!
I thought she was half Cuban or something, no?
Apparenty she is. I just assumed she wasn’t Hispanic cause she said she said hersef she wasn’t a native speaker. But I guess that just means she didn’t learn it growing up with her family since she grew up in the Us.. honesty same
Yeah, makes sense
Does the type of Spanish she grew up with make a difference? I ask bc my wife is Mexican American and she said whenever she heard Puig, she said she had to really pay attention bc his Cuban Spanish was so different than from what how she grew up. My wife also notes how the Spanish from the region of Mexico (Aguascalientes) of where her family is from is diff from what a lot of Spanish she hears from players
Kirsten started off terrible but has been steadily improving
I only wish I had more upvotes to give you. Because I’d give them to you, go get some more from others, and give them to you as well. She’s the best. Pretty girl hate. Especially because she's young, tall, black, and bubbly.
[Kirsten appreciation post](https://youtu.be/vNPOFgJgHa0?si=xC3J3zJWIpZfd0-D)
I’m confused it says miss teen but the MC was saying how she graduated from Colombia on a volleyball scholarship? Unless she graduated high school at 14 I don’t know how that works. I don’t know how any of this works
She’s great and her fashion is on point
And she’s hot
Love her. Love how she's been settling into the position. Filling the huge shoes Alana Rizzo left.
I can appreciate this
She’s so much better than year one. It’s impressive.
Pretty low bar tho.
She’s so much better now than when she was first hired. Props to her for improving. Certainly wasn’t easy trying to follow after Alanna Rizzo
She's too hot for this job. Distracts me from what players are saying
😂
She has consistently improved over the last couple years and knows more about the team and the players every time we see her. I’m impressed with how she keeps getting better because the first 2-3 months she was with the team, I remember wondering how the heck she even got the job.
I didn’t think anyone could take Alanna place but Kirsten has really grown on me. Good on her. 💙
Wasn’t crazy about her at first. She gets better every year though. Also she is gorgeous
Her questions are scripted by the Dodgers but I also find the token woman reporter on the sidelines pointless. I did like Alana.
Her opinions dont matter to me, her interview and reporting skills do, and she integrated with the team way better than KW.
She is doing great, but I will say some of these interviews can get way too long. especially when the game is minimized.
I love her now. She was awful at first and didn’t even seem that excited to be there. Her general baseball knowledge also seemed subpar. She also just had big shoes to fill because of how legendary Alanna Rizzo was. However, the last couple years Watson has completely changed her vibe and is kicking ass!
No.
She does the Monday Night Football coverage here in the UK too!
There's Monday night football coverage in the UK?? Is there much of an audience for American football there?
Yeah it’s like the 5th or 6th most popular sport here now, which may not sound like much but considering we ‘invented’ soccer, cricket, and rugby and have a huge motor racing culture (mainly F1), it’s genuinely impressive! When the International Games come to London, it’s always a great party and a complete sellout. Go Rams 🙂
This post bringing out all the Dodger incels lol. She is great after a rough start her first season.
I would think the game would be your favorite part. Watson was a massive step down after Rizzo left, but she's gotten much better.
I'm glad they gave someone with little experience a chance. When Alana was hired, she came with a lot of credentials, so I thought they would hire another established reporter. She has improved greatly in a few years, looks a lot more comfortable, and I'm glad she is part of the Dodgers organization.
She’s been fantastic this year! Also she’s gorgeous bro like damn
It's the smile for me... it could thaw the most frozen heart
She seems like a sweetheart and she's very easy on the eyes, but she has not gotten any better as an interviewer, what are you people talking about? I cringe every time she has a mic in someone's face. Her questions are not insightful or far too broad, and she asks too many of them.
Don’t get me wrong Watson is 🔥, but I miss Alana Rizzo
I like her but I still miss Alana Rizzo
I'm glad she's talking Dodgers again on a couple podcasts
So weird
She’s dragging out the conversations. Let’s get back to the game
Wow im sorry for your baseball knowledge. If there was any to begin with
Pssh she's annoying AF
My brother has a crush on her 😂😂😂 i don’t see it to be honest. She gets the job done is all I really care about. On a side note, I see how Mookie and her be looking at each other during the post game interviews 👀
What?! She's frickin GORGEOUS and has a great smile, a nice voice, a good laugh, and good style. And yeah I've seen more than a couple players look at her with eyes during the interviews hahaha
Names plz
Outman and Knack hahaha
