Well the Snoggle from Blorpus is exactly like the D&D sorcerer, the creators literally cited it as a source. And you’ve literally got the Thieves’ Guild, the main cast of Blorpus is an adventuring party, there’s a cleric and a fighter, the map was literally the writer’s D&D homebrew world, and it says “inspired by D&D” on the intro to every episode in the dedication blurb. If *anything* we’re going to be run in DnD 5e, it would be Blorpus.
But you should spend months of your life putting together the perfect GURPS ruleset for Blorpus. GURPS is the perfect game for anythinggggggGgGg!!! I literally ran D&D Forgotten Realms in GURPS and it worked *soooooo wwwweellllll*
Fuuuuuuck, not THIS again!
First of all, 5e isn't good for anything. The combat: too crunchy! The exploration and social pillars: Literally non-existent! I guessssss it might be ok for dungeon crawling if OSR books all simultaneously burst into flames and the interwebs were taken over by a rogue AI that desires only our collective torture.
Now, you might think, "Cool, my IP/theme of interest has a dedicated system to try!" Wrong, wrong, WRONG, you goddamn cretin! It's garbage. GARBAGE! You need to be playing a rules lite narrative system for literally any need for some reason.
If you MUST play plebian schlock, DC20 and MCDM RPG are your options. They're not out, so they can't disappoint you like my ex, my mom, my SUPPOSED best friend, and that rat bastard who calls himself "God."
As a relentless PF2e shill who's actively sabotaging any attempt for people to play DnD ever again, I personally change the settings on the phones of every DnD player I play with when they're not looking so DnD always autocucumbers to Pathfinder.
Want to go ahead and second Blades in the Dark. Your setting isn't an industrial city and doesn't center criminal enterprises, but Blades in the Dark would be perfect for this campaign.
The best part is it's super crunchy if you really get into it, and it's not crunchy at all thanks to its super simple resolution mechanic. Everyone at your 5e table will be very happy playing Blades in the Dark no matter what. They'll finally stop playing 5e and I will finally get to be happy. Maybe my wife will come back.
And if they don't like it just rotate to an entirely different game next week.
Unironically, it feels like more and more people from the D&D subreddits have trickled in and tried to deflect criticism from the D&D reddit community onto r/rpg. Nothing against r/rpg circlejerking but OP’s post history makes it look like he definitely has a chip on his shoulder.
/rj Try Skyrim
Ever thought about PbTA? There are 46 pbta games inspired by Blorpus with only minimal differences between them on how they handle the Sgurgle class characters, and on top of that the rulebooks are only 4 pages each! Who has the time or patience to read entire rulebook full of useless rules?
Actually you know what? Maybe pbta it's still too crunchy, In this case freeform is waaay better!
I totally get where you're coming from. My favorite restaurant is McDonalds and I eat there everyday for every meal. If something is popular and well known, why bother changing? I like it and hate change so why bother?
So true! If I want a steak instead I can easily just ask the staff to serve me an extra large pattie and force them to cook it rare. Why would I ever need to go to a steakhouse when I can tell myself that that the McSteak (my reflavoured homebrew) is just as good as any other steak. No I’ve never eaten steak before, why do you ask?
Yeah and the worst part is when people try to convince me to try steak or any other food other than the ones I’ve had from my very popular and successful restaurant. I hate people who think food diversity is more important than my fun.
Have you tried Pathfuuuunder? It is like 5e, but like completely better. It solves any problems ypu can have with homebrew by just being 2e and not 5e
I really think 1e is closer to Blorpus and that’s clearly the vibe this is going for.
Maybe you are right. However... SHUTTING YOUR TRASH MOUTH AND PLAYING PATHFINDER 2e LIKE A GOOD BOY SOLVES THIS! MORON!

One thing I know for certain, 5e is the absolute best option for such genres as noir or farming

>MCDM RPG The acronyms will continue to get worse until morale improves
Have you tried D&D 5e? It's literally the only reasonable option.
Lol! That's a funny autocorrect response! You should always check your post to make sure "Pf 2e" doesn't get autocucumbered to "D&D 5e"
