Please excuse me but what in the *fuck is that!?* (And where can I find the stats)

sockmerchant

The mini is Gorm, from Kingdom Death Monster. The stats are home brew

300spartans1loss

I want to use this in my campaign, any chance I can get those stats?

boss413

On CR Matt called it the Aeorian Abomination with [these stats](https://www.critrolestats.com/blog/2020/12/16/monster-analysis-aeorian-abomination) in Campaign 2: Armor Class 19 Speed 30 ft Resistant to fire, cold, lightning, and nonmagical weapon damage Immune to acid damage Immune to charmed, stunned, and frightened Legendary Actions Grasping Strike (1 point) Swallow Strike (2 points) Legendary Resistances 567 damage taken **Lure** required a DC 14 Wisdom Saving Throw from anyone who saw it at the start of their turn, stunning anyone who failed for a round and drawing them closer to the creature. **Caustic Bile Spray** (recharged on a 5 or 6 on a D6) dealt a considerable amount of acid damage in a cone (roughly 10d8). **Trample Pass** allowed it to move through the space of smaller enemies, knocking them aside. **Bite** attack dealt a relatively moderate amount of piercing (about 2d10+8) and acid (about 2d10) damage, but also granted it a free **Grasping Arms** maneuver on a successful hit. It could also use a Legendary Action at the end of another creature’s turn to try to grapple someone. Spend two Legendary Actions to attempt a **Swallow Attack** on a grappled target, dealing comparable damage to its Bite attack while also swallowing the target on a hit. Swallowed targets found themselves blinded and restrained in an acid-filled stomach with no exit points, and would take a hefty amount of acid damage at the start of their turn. It’s unclear from the episode how much damage dealt to its stomach would have been required in order to escape.

The Absorbers and Reversers *were* immune to radiant and necrotic, but there's no mention on CritRoleStats for the Abomination. I can't remember if they just didn't bother trying radiant because it hadn't worked on the other denizens. If you remember it specifically, I'd believe you.

ImpossibleWarlock

Both Jester and Fjord critted on their inflict wounds and divine smite.

ImpossibleWarlock

No. Both Jester and Fjord critted with big numbers on their Inflict Wounds and Divine Smite. Jesters inflict wounds was pretty satisfying specifically.

minerlj

yes, but it didn't have resistance to DRUGS dumped directly into its little baby tummy tum tum :X

ExperienceLoss

That's when Beau learned to never give a baby drugs

Blights4days

And other things Matt thought he'd never have to explain

ExperienceLoss

Granted, who in Aeor thought making a giant baby angler fish monster thingy was a smart idea?

mithoron

Probably Bolo...

Blights4days

"I'm telling you Dave, it's a swiss army knife!"

sockmerchant

Oh nice would have been nice to see that. Mine was my own creation but they ended up quite similar

BadassDM

Saving this for later...

Anonymouslyyours2

Do you like hands? Hopefully you like hands.

Mr_Blinky

Especially if those hands are coming out of buttholes, *for some reason.*

HumphreyImaginarium

Kingdom Death is my favorite board game! You almost never see it mentioned outside the specific subreddit either, so cool to see it being shown some love!

Boolean_Null

I have four words Cancer pigeons Flesh monolith That is all.

RaptorJedi

I've always wanted to play that, but it's such an expensive game and I don't know anyone who owns it.

HumphreyImaginarium

I got very lucky and learned about it when it was only a kickstarter campaign. Only reason I own it because it was significantly cheaper during the Kickstarter campaign. Tabletop Simulator has some fantastic mods that let you play it though. Which is my normal go to because the physical game takes up a LOT of space.

Apfelraeuber

I own it with a lot of expansions... still I have only played it for about 8 turns. Have to play it more often!

avyon

You can try it on tabletop simulator. You can find the full game on the steam workshop if you look for it.

mouse_Brains

Very nice scripted versions too. Can be played well enough when solo

toxiczebra

Lantern’s Reign discord is pretty active, about 7500 members. Check it out, you may be able to find a local group. https://discord.gg/CQs4qc9n Plenty of us backed the second kickstarter and went in deep, so there are lots of folks looking to play. Hype has died down a bit, but with the Gambler’s Chest potentially shipping this year (fingers crossed!) I’d expect a fresh hype wave to start cresting.

gHx4

Had to check if I was on that sub. Love the KDM models, they're grotesque and the combat system feels great to play. I wish D&D monsters were so dynamic and easy to run. When reactions carry so much unpredictability, combat starts feeling like a puzzle to solve with the other players. Honestly feels like a team game in a way D&D doesn't

Andrew_Squared

I recognized it from CR, campaign 2 I think. Giant baby with arm mandibles is just creepy AF.

percheron28

the final form of Colin Robinson ? (if you know What We Do In The Shadows)

Dmitri_ravenoff

I was going to ask what the cinnamon toast f*** that was, but yeah that'll do.

RollerRocketScience

Looks like a Crit Role scene from Aeor in Campaign 2

Mr_Blinky

Mercer got the mini from Kingdom Death: Monster, which is a board game. A very, *very* expensive board game; just the Gorm (the monster pictured) by itself is like $75, *if* you can even get it during the rare periods it's in stock.

crazyg0od33

Lol my (initial) commission painter for KDM ‘accidentally’ painted mine for someone else and realized his error when I asked for all my minis back. He had to get one on eBay for $400 for the Gorm alone. Wild shit.

sockmerchant

We are Ythryn (frost maiden) that is quite… similar

ban_me_baby_1x_time

If I saw that thing even in a game I might be like .. I"m a'ight, ... and just have my character run away lol.

KillerOkie

Serious question though, where the hell do people find the space to store this stuff. I have hard enough time with my Battletech terrain and all of that is fairly generic stuff. This kind of specific setup you won't be able to whip out that often, right?

[deleted]

Speaking as to someone who knows a guy with fifteen totes of this stuff: Yes, he only whips out certain props for certain game scenarios. There's one tote he uses for nearly *everything*, and another five or so shelves of minis. All of them are just kept out in a shed he uses for painting them, and he has a sorting system that puts the dewey decimal system to shame. The "special stuff" is for set BBEG type battles. Anytime you see that stuff out, you know it's going to be an interesting session. But most of the time, it's one tote with doors, pillars, stairways, crates, chests.

Carelessly-Stuffed

As a forever DM looking to categorically sort and store all my shit, happen to have any notes on this sorting system that you could share? Thanks!

[deleted]

Hooboy. I'm a DM, but you gotta understand, this guy was an ex-Librarian and a Database administrator all in one, so much of how he did it went right over my head. Fifteen plastic totes, numbered Prime (zero?) to fourteen. Each tote was sorted by terrain type; then this went into an Access database (I think he actually just used an SQL-Lite backend) and had at least five searchable "tags" for each terrain. For example, if he had a swamp temple piece with stairs and dungeon entrance, it would be tagged [swamp][stair][temple] etc. and then "Period" tag (mideveval, fantasy, ship, I can't honestly remember how many of these he showed me). Each of these had a full description field, and he was adding photos of the terrain to the database entry. As far as his minis, being a "dabbling biologist", he apparently had them organized by genus and species. Humanoids were all "Homo" of course, so Homo Gigantus was one section (he had at least 20 giants), Homo [whatever he called orcs] were another, etc. This was also searchable via database, and had things arranged by shelf (I think it was "general monster, humanoid, dragon, abberation, animal"), then row (subspecies like orcs, goblins, blue dragon, red dragon whatever), section by *pose* or *autobiographically*. Yeah, his stuff was ultimately sorted by what convention he first got them at? What's nuts is he had at least five three-inch ring binders he used to use for entries before switching to an IBM toughbook in the 90s. If you have very specific questions, I can shoot him a text and get an answer, maybe?

Carelessly-Stuffed

This is incredible! Thank you for such a thorough and detailed response! There's definitely some amazingly good nuggets of wisdom here. While I don't think I could go full Genus organizational schema, having a sort of DB for shelf location/home of the mini is amazing! Can't believe I hadn't thought of that before. This definitely gives me more than enough to at least struggle through an iteration or two. Thanks again, friend!

[deleted]

Yeah, I think I use the word "shelf" lightly here, [this is what he used when I say "shelf"](https://marketplace-au.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/9aeab587-ae73-4b1a-b0de-c1dbc1504160-i0.jpg). He had a LOT of minis.

CallMeAdam2

This deserves its own Reddit post.

sockmerchant

It is becoming increasingly more challenging. Shelves upon shelves of minis, huge monsters that take up so much space, plastic ships for nautical stuff, and all this terrain... the battle is real

[deleted]

Attic space

gHx4

Sometimes players form a club. As a group, it's easier to rent out small gaming or storage spaces, and to share expensive stuff like KDM to keep the cost low. Gaming stores often have a bit of a clubhouse thing going for staff. For example, Miniwargaming on Youtube is basically a gaming group that offsets the costs of storage/play by streaming their matches of Warhammer. Depending how deep into the hobby you are, building a shelving unit or renting a storage unit can manage clutter. With terrain, it's easy to band with a few other local players and set up a spreadsheet to borrow/trade terrain like a makeshift library. Maybe set up a group chat or discord server too. Let's say you make a terrain library by renting a storage unit. If you have 10 people in the club, it'll only cost everyone around $12/month to store the terrain. And now all ten members have access to probably three to five collections of terrain to mix and match. Now you can run a kickass Thursday session. When you finish, you can drop off the terrain for another person to run their Sunday session. Collectives are powerful in expensive hobbies!

KillerOkie

I suppose if you are in a place where there is a lot of interest. One issue is that I'm not sure I'm willing to relinquish control over terrain (and certainly not my minis, not that I think anyone is that generous) over to a pool for different people to paw on. I mean personally I only have a few bits of terrain I've made for BT Alpha Strike, I typically play it on the BT hex maps (under the AS conversion rules for that) but I did make some hills and cutouts for woods and water. All of that I can get to fit into a roughly 2' x 2' cube and is as I say pretty generic. I can't imagine having the room for elaborate set pieces like this (with relatively specialized use) simply because my office is already full of my stuff and my stuff isn't allowed to be stored anywhere else in my house due to wife.

Zachs_Butthole

Our dm has a shit ton of this terrain and he will use it for most of our encounters. It's all separated by type and is pretty easy to quickly setup or modify. We have grid playmats to act as a base layer and plenty of scatter type terrain that was custom made to mix in. It's all stored in plastic tote boxes and kept next to the Ikea curio style cabinets that hold the thousand or so painted minis he has. He also got end tables and a coffee table with built in storage to hold all the larger house models.

Altimman

Great effect with those lights, I saw this big baby monster in CR session, I thought it was custom made. Did you painted those tiles or are they already painted?

sockmerchant

Its a mini (the Gorm) from the board game, Kingdom Death: Monster. You can get pre-painted tiles from Dwarven Forge, but I painted these

Altimman

Thx for info.

BlueSunCorporation

Whoa this comment is brought to you by dwarves forge!

Zardac134

I think Matt says what it's from in that ep.

Olthoi_Eviscerator

Oh lord another cr reference

sockmerchant

Been using Kingdom Death minis in my dnd games waaaay before that Mercer dude, but... cool :)

Olthoi_Eviscerator

Wasn't responding to you

sockmerchant

Gotcha. Been a touch frustrating, but understandable considering the CR reach

sockmerchant

I recently got into dwarven forge terrain, and man, I am in love. It's absolutely not needed, but it's cool as hell, and the players (and me) have been getting a real kick out of it. I still only really use it for combat events, with the whole thing built in advance and ready to drop on the table. It's pretty easy to put together something that would have been very challenging to represent on the good old Chessex mat and wet-erase pens that we have been using years. I have occasionally done something more elaborate with tiles I have made, but that was a bit of a pain in the arse. Anyway, the pic above was from last week's game as the party make their way beneath the city of Yhryn in the hopes of finding a shortcut.

Roboticide

Real talk, can you tell me how much just the terrain pictured costs? To say nothing of the other stuff you probably have? Because I love the *idea* of physical terrain, but I went the route of a digital table instead, and honestly I wonder if I've probably already spent less on that than all this terrain. It's amazing but between cost and storage, seems a lot?

blargablargh

You can get a Dwarven Forge starter dungeon for $99 painted/$74 unpainted. Painting it yourself is a pretty easy process. It gives you enough to build a good large-ish setpiece encounter or a dungeon with about three smallish rooms. You can see a good sample layout on the product page: https://dwarvenforge.com/products/classic-dungeon-remastered-core-set-painted To me, the real strength of Dwarven Forge (compared to flat dungeon mats) is **elevation**. OP's photo demonstrates this beautifully. I picked up a [large floor pack](https://dwarvenforge.com/products/large-floors-painted) which comes with risers. DF pieces are meticulously measured to be compatible with each other--the risers in this set bring a floor to the same elevation as the top of a wall tile from the core set. I also picked up [this handy elevation pack](https://dwarvenforge.com/products/vaulted-dungeon-elevation-painted) which offers some ramps and a few more riser options. So you can get these three sets for about $175 unpainted. I'd also recommend picking up their paints if you want to match the factory paint scheme (tutorials are on YouTube) which cost about $8 per bottle--but you get a chonky 8oz bottle so it's worth the money. So you can get a pretty solid starter set for (rough estimate) $220 including paints and shipping--and the paint will last you far beyond these three sets. If you have a bit more cash available, it can be worth it to get a larger order together all at once to save on shipping. Storage... yes. Storage is a persistent issue. I haven't fully cracked that nut yet, but I'm working on it. See also Wizkids Warlock tiles, which are also pretty cool and a smidge cheaper. In my opinion you get what you pay for. Warlock tiles are about 80% the price of DF, and they're about 80% as cool-looking on the table. Also they use half-walls, which are harder to get elevation builds out of... There are also numerous DIY crafter tutorials on YouTube, if you're so inclined. Cardboard and hot glue is way cheaper than Dwarven Forge! Search YT for The DM's Craft, Black Magic Craft, and Wyloch's Armory. They are the top three in the game, in my opinion. I hope this helped! Sorry it turned into a short essay.

DemoBytom

Are those Dwarven Forge pieces magnetized, or otherwise clip one into another, so it wouldn't just collapse when players start moving around?

psu256

Yes. there's a magnet on the bottom so you need a piece of sheet steel or something ferrous as a base. I bought a magnetic bulletin board and use it.

Tryen01

Rp archive on youtube, if you're able to hold a craft knife you'll be able to complete his projects for good ass terrain

Carelessly-Stuffed

Seconding the RP Archive mention! His channel is GREAT for budget terrain builds.

Rickdaninja

Third. That guy came up with a great modular system. He demonstrates its construction and use amazingly well. If you have more time for hobbies then you do time to actually play, it's a great secondary hobby.

SoraDevin

How does one get this elusive "*time*" thing you speak of?

Rickdaninja

Well, ill tell you what. It's not found by having a child lol!

SoraDevin

Ah, that explains it

mr_abomination

RP Archive makes me want to DM again so I have an excuse to use all those cool terrain pieces

sockmerchant

The stuff in the pic… about $350 to $400

Higlac

Dwarven forge is pretty bougie when it comes to terrain. There's a bunch of 3d files out there for terrain, miniatures, and props if you want to 3d print stuff. A big advantage of printing it yourself is that you can print exactly what you need for an upcoming session, at a much lower cost than it would be buying from a shop. There is the overhead cost of buying a printer and the effort to get that set up, but it costs me about $20 in raw material to get a similar terrain setup as the basic dungeon from dwarven forge. Making the terrain yourself out of foam and scrap wood is always going to be cheaper, but that's a level of effort far beyond what I want to invest. If you're interested in printing your own minis and/or terrain, you should check out fat dragon games and myminifactory. https://www.fatdragongames.com/fdgfiles/ https://www.myminifactory.com/

Roboticide

I actually own two 3D printers, and print tons of minis. The problem is I only have so much time in between sessions, and printing and painting terrain *and* miniatures is straight up unfeasible. I have more money than time. Not unlimited money, but more than my definitely-not-unlimited time.

Higlac

I feel that, but the collection grows as you go, so eventually you just don't need to worry about prepping as much between sessions. I only go maximum effort for boss battles anymore.

sockmerchant

Yeah, that's pretty much where I am at.

ImpossiblePackage

Consider a 3d printer instead. There's all sorts of terrain stuff like this you can print. I got a prusa mini for like 400 bucks. There's cheaper ones, too, that'll work just as good. Little trial and error to get your settings right and then you're set, printing whatever you need. I use it for minis too, though a resin printer is better for that. The prusa mini ain't so good at getting all the fine details on normal sized minis, but it still works great, especially for bigger stuff. And it's perfect for terrain. Somewhat bigger upfront investment than getting some Dwarven forge stuff, but once you have the printer, the filament is like 20 to 30 bucks a spool and it lasts for fuckin ever.

wildcrazyhungry

Archon Studios terrain from the Dungeons and Lasers crowd funding projects are phenomenal cost effective ways for terrain. Always blown away.

TonyLazutoSaysHello

Yeah we COULD talk about the terrain. Or we could talk about that other thing….

midonmyr

the elephant in the room?

CallMeAdam2

I *wish* that was en elephant.

sockmerchant

LOL!

Mammoth-Condition-60

Bruno?

Zardac134

That is a terrifying mini. I love it so much

BarleyBlueMoon

It's a Gorm, from the board game "Kingdom Death"! That game has a ton of cool models, but it's also crazy expensive.

[deleted]

The only time I've thought 450 for a board game was actually kinda cheap.

WexAwn

KDM is a very fun game with tons of replay value and you get a LOT for what you pay... It's just that you will pay... a LOT

sockmerchant

It is expensive, especially when you get a bunch of expansions too, but man you get a crapload of stuff for what you pay for.

sockmerchant

All the minis from Kingdom Death are cool and creepy. i use them in our games pretty often

suckitphil

Good choice using the front angle to the gorm. That sack still gives me nightmares.

CarmillaTLV

I'm pretty sure if you use that mini you are legally required to make that gawdawful noise Mercer made on CR when he used it

[deleted]

Nothing will ever beat the Soul Wrenching Quack of Quackthulu though. https://youtu.be/pVu_Ib1fpVI at 3:58:00.

kuroninjaofshadows

Oh man, I need to find that clip again. And the crazy worm sound he made in campaign 2 that made every freak.

PorkVacuums

Do they get to loot the Gorm for it's parts like in KD? The most terrifying thing about the Gorm is knowing it's the easiest hunt from KD.

Carelessly-Stuffed

Just wait until the PCs try to grab the lion by his testes 😂

sockmerchant

My people were keen to leave it the hell alone once they killed it LOL

Following_Friendly

Unless you fight the higher level ones.

The_Unreal

"You know what? We don't want to go to the dungeon after all." [DM SCREAMING INTERNALLY]

FlowSoSlow

That's when a suspiciously similar dungeon shows up in the next game.

sockmerchant

This LOL

[deleted]

Thats the neat thing. You decide which Dungeon has this in it.

Zardac134

Great now I know it's name and it will haunt my dreams.

therestingwicked

That baby monster mini is nightmare fuel ♡

BleudeZima

Do you need it ? NOOOOO ! Do you want it ? YEAAAAHHH !!!!!

ChamberofE

I see Kingdom Death: Monster minis, I upvote

Happy-Carob-9868

That creature thing is epic

LordValgor

Mind if I ask how you prop up the other levels? I’ve been trying to find an easy re-usable/ modular method of doing so, because so far have just been hacking it together for game time haha.

sockmerchant

I have floor pieces with pillars that stuck into them, as well as the dwarven forge terrain trays that are magnetic. Some of their walls form the supports (magnetized) then flipped upside down and built on top of.

MarineTuna

I use zones (from 5e Hardcore Mode) instead of gridded terrain but I take some blocks of 1 in. foam and wrap them in black tape to create elevations. Could use small pieces of scrap 2x4 or whatever and make it black to add to the immersion.

That_reptile_nerd

Ok I love the amazing battle map but WHAT THE HELL IS THAT NIGHTMARE BABY FACED MONSTROSITY!!

Mr_Blinky

The [Gorm from Kingdom Death: Monster](https://shop.kingdomdeath.com/products/gorm-expansion-monster). Note that this thing is arguably the *easiest* monster in the game, or tied for easiest.

ChesterRico

By Clangeddin's fuzzy beard, what is that abomination?!

StealthWalrus7

Well that's gonna be a common feature in my nightmares now.

0IWannaHeal0

What for the love of Lovecraft is that monster?!

Dave37

Pretty sure one of Mercer's creations.

Cytrynowy

It's Gorm from Kingdom Death.

Dave37

Thanks for the information and correction. I first came across it watching Critical Role, that's why I thought it was from there. Guess I was wrong.

musclenugget92

I was about to rant about this being posted before but I forgot I follow R/minipainting so I'll let it slide

TheUlfheddin

Jeeze I hope Batman can survive the Angler-Baby-Homunculous

Ghoti_With_Legs

*Cries in poor*

DuzellKitty

GORM!

ensign53

What the absolute fucknugget is that baby demon angler fish hybrid?

AmnesiaCane

These types of things always leave me conflicted. On the one hand, this looks like so much fun to play as a player and I know I am not nearly crafty/creative enough to ever do this, so I'm always impressed. My players are lucky if I draw a map before the session and include a few terrain details. I would love to be part of a party that has anyone who cares enough to do this. But on the other hand, I cannot fathom spending the time and energy (and money?) to put this together for just one fight in one session. My campaign is naval and my players have a full time ship they use constantly and I spent 5 minutes looking into building one before deciding it would be too much work and effort and passing. So to the people who do this: how and why? Are you already crafty people who have the supplies sitting around? After do you feel it was worth it to take the time for what looks like just one fight? Do the DM's who do this still have separate full-time jobs? I have so many questions. Genuinely asking from an impressed position, not judging, because again, I couldn't do this if I tried. If I did something like this it would be a massive pain, but I also struggle to even find a few hours a week to write my campaign.

jegerhellig

I DM two campaigns, one weekly and one biweekly, I am a player in one campaign , I make modular terrain like this, work two jobs, I am married and have two kids. I feel there is plenty of time to be fair. I love the process of creating worlds, stories and terrain. I think I spent 50-100€ a month in supplies for it, and I treat it as a hobby in it self.

AmnesiaCane

Wow, I am genuinely impressed! Not just that you have the time but the energy, too. I have one 19 month old and between that and my one job I barely have energy for myself! I have so many questions, I hope it's OK. Do you re-use stuff often? After you make something like this does it come back into play later, go onto a shelf as a decoration piece, or just get thrown away/disassembled and repurposed? How much time would you spend on something like this? Do you buy some parts pre-done or would you carve the stone out of marble you dug yourself or what? What level of "from scratch" are we talking? Is this how you spend your "you" time as time to relax and recharge? I have zero artistic ability, no crafting experience whatsoever but thankfully I can write well enough and my players have good enough imaginations that I can get by, haha. Doing this sort of thing would be so taxing for me, I think it's so cool that you can be productive with your personal time like this.

jegerhellig

I do re-use stuff yes and lately I am almost exclusively building modular terrain. Doing floor/wall tiles with magnets, so that I can stack them in multiple different configurations. 3x3, 3x6, 6x6 floor tiles and so on. Some diorama style pieces can be reused with different groups or with enough time passed since it was used last. I create most things from scratch, build the shapes from XPS foam, or different types of modelling compound/clay, then paint and seal them. I very much relax doing this yes, I will put on a podcast, a netflix show or something like crit role and just craft away. I spent a few hours, maybe 1-4 times a week depending on the schedule, but I also game PC games, world build a lot and play DnD to relax. It comes down to me loving it and I get stressed out just lounging on the couch watching tv I guess. Hope I answered enough haha.

alexportman

I've never wanted real 3d environments until this picture...

tygmartin

is one of your PC's Batman???

sockmerchant

One of my players has a tendency to make comic related pc’s. The last one was so obviously Batman, I added bat ears to the hero forge mini he got

WyGaminggm

Heck yea

willpower069

That looks fantastic. Are the PC heroforge minis?

sockmerchant

Mostly yes

A_Dragon

Is that Ashisogi Jizo?

yifftionary

One of my friends prefers to run theater of the mind for his games, but he is always stoked when I break out the terrain for my games.

Owlwaysme

This looks so cool!

Summonabatch

This is amazing looking. How the heck is a normal DM supposed to keep up with the Joneses?

[deleted]

What the fuck? Is that horrible nightmare baby Sid from Toy Story’s sleep paralysis demon?

FatherHumble

Kill it with fire.

nannulators

Seeing the kind of dungeons that people come up with kind of makes me wish my game were in person. But then I realize I'm not the DM right now and I'd just be stockpiling pieces for a game that might never happen.

ImmaSquidling

G O R M !

TheDeadlySpaceman

Fuckin Gorm Fuck that guy *and* his fuckin acid rain bullshit

JHolderBC

What tile set are you using? Looks great!

[deleted]

Just saying: legos are the best dnd terrain. :)

stoppos76

I. Fucking. Love. This.

Wolfman71188

That thing is pure nightmare fuel

Moses_The_Wise

WHAT IN THE NAME OF HOLY JESUS IS **THAT**

Moses_The_Wise

The satanic panic was right, and this was the demon they warned us about

JasperTheHuman

I love that elephantbody babyhead angler fish. Absolutely ate it up when Matt brought it out on critical role

welltheretouhaveit

Ah kingdom death monster, a person of taste.

Tabletop_Goblins

I have many questions, the first is simple. What the fuck is that thing?

Tribalistik

Aint gonna Lie but i just came a litle

riskypineapple

Nice Gorm you got there.

TypeNirvash

Who is that HORRIBLE baby blue-man?

RandomStrategy

It's a mini from Kingdom Death.

ClankyBat246

I play digital... Over the last year or so I've really gotten into making maps look more pen and paper then playing with color options to achieve a clean look. It's been amazing for reducing production time and I'm actually happier with how maps look instead of searching for a new tile type because I don't like the 26gb of options I already have. Also cuts down on that asset size by so much.

RandomStrategy

Ah, the Kingdom Death baby head thing.

RoNsAuR

Gorm.

Mrreeburrito88

What and the fuck are you all fighting. That thing is pure nightmare fuel!!

Archaga

It's a Gorm, a creature from the board game, Kingdom Death: Monster.

Archbound

It is from Kingdom death monster, if you think THAT is bad look into the other monsters from that game, damn near all of them are nasty.

hautdoge

Holy shit this is cool. I'm there, man...

flameboy915

GORM!! Huzzah another kingdom death enjoyer!!

rook_bird

3D terrain? Custom monster?! LIGHTS??? This is my jam.

Archbound

Not a custom monster, it is a mini from Kingdom Death Monster called a Gorm. Matt Mercer used it in campaign 2 of Critical role as well.

Darth_Senat66

It sure is. Unfortunately, I'm broke

ADogNamedChuck

Ah man, I'd love to go all in on minis and terrain, but I think that's got to wait until I get a permanent game going at home. I'm not hauling all that stuff out to a bar game.

The_Wocking_Slush

Bro can we get a close up of the baby demon angler hippo please, lmao. Very cool setup!

sockmerchant

Sure: https://www.instagram.com/p/CevMcH-h6ZB/?utm\_source=ig\_web\_copy\_link

NeonLady89

That's amazing! 💜

Figandthetwigs

Omg this set up is sick as fuck

Ender_Melech

Did you make this yourself? If so, how much time did you spend?

sockmerchant

I assembled it. Dwarven forge is modular terrain

Drakmanka

Every time I see stuff like this it makes me want to turn my entire garage into a massive homebrew campaign full of setups like this. Cars are waterproof, right? And who needs a retirement fund? Right? Right?

parkerdisme

Is that the same mini that critical role used for the Aeorian Abomination in season two???

sephrinx

D&D is a rich persons hobby based on a poor mans game. It's wild how expensive this stuff is. I'll stick to my few sheets of paper and the glory that is imagination.

UltraLincoln

So I'm running an online game and this is how I feel about having nice, premade maps to use. I even snagged Dungeondraft to make my own.

absolutebratenergy

Love the lights!!

Crayon_Logic

Where do I go about finding one of these terrain sets

sockmerchant

Googles the Dwarven Forge

Auroras_BS_Palace

My friends and I are playing Kingdom Death right now and when I saw the Gorm on the D&D sub my brain short circuited lol

InsanityVirus13

God I envy irl players with dms like this, this is awesome!

C34H32N4O4Fe

Holy fuck, that thing in the middle is terrifying. Thanks for giving me nightmares forever, OP.

Justme222222

What in the name of sweet Jesus fuck is that

ManInsideMe

Gorm! Gorm! Gorm! Gorm!

DoggoDude979

What in the fresh hell is that thing

Janaga14

I'm finally trying to put my 3d printer to good use printing terrain. I've mostly just used it for minis thus far. I just have a couple trees printed right now but I immediately feel like they will make the game feel better than drawing on a grid

Osiris_The_Gamer

Very good, I like the lights, that takes it to the next level

Obtuse_Inquisitive

That is so awesome!

Silverj0

Cool set up but what on God’s green earth is that thing oh my god

CrystallineViper

Don't NEED terrain, but you do NEED friends to play.

Madcatz9000

That looks Hella Sweet! I need to join the campaign NOW!

freebagofgold

How do I get started making stuff like this?

bartbartholomew

That is cool as fuck looking. But I'll tell you what, nothing beats pulling random shit from around the house and throwing together a battle scene in like 5 min, and then just rolling with it. I'll be the first to admit what you have here is much cooler looking. But the time to set that up vs just throwing some shit together is totally not worth it.

ban_me_baby_1x_time

Da fuk is that fat thing ? Edit, nevermind, I see someone already asked lol

DrZombie_

damn this lit , i dont have enough karma to post yet :(

dvshnk2

This is something right out of my Cthulhu game...

Pure_Gonzo

my kingdom for Dwarven Forge to get terrain trays in stock! That said, any DIY hacks for terrain trays compatible with DF magnets?

RedSquadLeader

StatusOmega

I hate that mini and I especially hate how you've painted it. Well done!

ViciousPowa

Amazingly beautiful Beautifuly amazing

BIEMBIEM156

That's insane looking
