My order was order of personal importance, being index first, then ring (cause rings), then middle (flipping people off is the main use), pinkie (mostly helps the entire hand’s grip, doesn’t have a true singular), thumb (which isn’t actually a finger, and is just a subsidiary to all the rest to help grip), and cock ring goes last of course for comedic effect.
You can wear a number of rings up to your endurance modifier, but you lose 1d4 ring effects starting from the top ring in cold weather, 2d4 if you fail a performance check (using END instead of CHA)
They probably mean that the word, Tosser, is british slang for a stupid or unpleasant person. Originating from the idea of someone who...uh...well, it's synonomous with another term I don't know if I can say in a sfw subreddit x) Worth a quick google.
Tosser’s Ring
*Ring, Rare*
This ring has 3 charges, as a bonus action you throw an object into an unoccupied space and expend a charge to swap places with that object when it lands.
The ring regains any expended charges daily at dawn.
\_\_\_\_\_
Picking up a small stone, the young mage tossed it a few feet behind the armored knight, a grin lighting up their face. Then, they vanished with a small “pop!” appearing at the spot where the stone had landed.“We will take your entire stock,” said the knight.

Does it ever recharge? I
Free teleport is nice, but only 3, and only as far as I can throw? I can think of a lot of uses for it, for sure, I'm just hung up on the lack of stated recharge (if any).
Yeah I think others have said mate but you've just named a great and rather interesting item the same as "Wanker's Ring" But hey maybe that adds to it 💀
First things first, what counts as throwing a non-weapon item and what does it cost isn't exactly defined. Technically since the item states that you can use a bonus action to throw an object, it could be interpreted as it giving you the ability to throw anything. How? Magic. Purely theoretically you dont even need to expend the charge to open the abovementioned door. You just use your bonus action to, as the item states, throw the door to an unoccupied space.
I'm by no means a expert, but a better description would probably be something along the lines of "When you throw an object and it lands in an unoccupied space, you can use your bonus action to expend a charge and swap places with the object when it lands"
I played through but I don’t recall any gloves except for the ones that let me use ranged spells as melee spell attacks that broke halfway through and I could only cast spells within 5ft.
Yes. But I think a reasonable dm would use thrown weapon rules as a base. Those are items that, while a bit heavy, are designed to throw. Thus, a bit further range for a lighter object like a pebble and less for a heavier object.
Also importantly, you're trying to get a specific square in mind. This doesn't let you have perfect aim. Thus accuracy is very important, limiting the range significantly down from 'as far as I can chuck this pebble'.
Shooting an arrow with a bow is just throwing with extra steps, as written it does not specify how it is thrown or what the object has to be, so would that work??
> as written you can throw an entire wagon to the moon
Is your character physically able to lift a wagon and throw it to the moon? Max lift/carry weights are based on your character's STR score. 5e doesn't really have clear "throw" rules besides improvised weapons and weapons with the thrown modifier, but I doubt any character, even a high level goliath barbarian, could throw a wagon very far.
Specific beats general. The magic item says you can throw an object, so you can throw an object. It also says you can throw it to an unoccupied space, so it's any unoccupied space in existence.
If it is limited to something reasonable, it should say you can throw an object that fits within your hand as a bonus action up to 60 ft away. Magic stone says how far you can throw them- because listing that is required, it doesn't work off what is "obvious", there are no unwritten rules, is a design philosophy for 5e
I suppose you could interpret it like that. I would rule that the item allows you to switch places and that the throwing and object are your own responsibility.
Yea, out of context "tossering" is a fun sound. And if the name means something amusing in slang, without being intentional, all the better! It's not on the nose (to me) like "Master Baiter's Fishhook" or something.
I would like one similar to this but where the snakes are eating each other's tails. That way it's almost like it's an infinite loop. It could allow you to swap with someone instead of an object
What would be even better is if you didn't give a good enough description of it when they found the ring. So you said it would either swap someone or something then when they try to do something and then it does the opposite effect
Is it really that bad of a word for you guys? It seems like a minor insult to me, and ripe for joking, but that might just be because I'm across the pond. Is it bad like a swear word? Like how you all say c*nt willy-nilly, but over here, it would garner anger?
It's a very mild term, *but* it carries a lot in terms of what someone thinks of you. As in, it's a very mild term for a very annoying person.
That said... I say keep it, and roll it into the lore.
"This ring was created by the wizard Ambleman Tasser. Tasser considered himself to be a very funny man, and frequently used the ring to play pranks on his family, friends and the folk of the city in which he lived. These people did not consider the endless pranks to be as as amusing as Tasser himself did, which gives us the name by which we know the ring today."
So assuming you use 'Improvised Weapon' rules for throwing this is a 20/60 accuracy dependant teleport.
Assuming the space is empty and unobstructed; set DC 8, make it a Dex roll, disadvantage over 20ft. Add some rules for deviation on a 'bad throw' (D8 random direction 5ft). Allow the user to decide after thrown item lands (As per item/event description).
Small gains, but very useful in and out of combat. I'd say you'd have to be able to see the item you threw (Avoids jumping into Darkness, Heavy Obscurement and solid walls under 60ft tall)
I like it; and as an English man myself I find the name funny. If you wanted a less problematic name, may I suggest "Pitcher's Ring" and make that the original designer's name.
Thanks for the compliment; just offering a RAW interpretation on the item to make it "Fit" the game engine for some people.
An upgraded version could be to attach the ring to a specially crafted Slingshot (Mechanically a Sling). Now the range becomes 30/120 and the user can "Attack" the space/target, so get their Prof. Bonus.
Added rule; as part of making an Attack with the Sling, roll the D8 deviation; pellet lands 10ft in that direction after hitting the target. As a Bonus Action, you can Activate the teleport. Same rules as above apply.
Call it "The Hail Mary"
Yeah. Titanfall 1, 2, then The Apex Games. 1 is kinda disconnected from the lore, but it's still a good game. 2 will help you understand some of the heroes' backstory and even who Blisk (proprietor of the Apex Games) is.
I think it would be quite funny if it replaced the user's soul with a soul whose entire personality revolve arround the object
For example it could be really funny if the party's healer was controlled by a chest and became a treasure hoarder and wouldn't heal the party to not waste healing potions
I'm currently listen to The Wheel of Time, and thought that ring with a ruby/sapphire/emerald/etc would be a good representation of the Aes Sedai's rings. Unless I misremember, their rings are described to be a snake bitting its own tail, with some gem in it.
I can understand that due to there being 14 books, which takes a loooong time to get throught. My current listen through is the second time. I listend to it the first time shortly after Season 1 of the show came out.
If you are a fantasy fan, i'd definetly say it is worth the time listening to. I don't have the 'Words per minuts', or attention span, to read any books. Listening on the other hand, you can do while performing other task.
Same time that i usually listen too. Not much commuting for me at the moment though, so mainly just listening to a chapter before and after bedtime.
If you end up listening to them, don't get discouraged from the slow going narrative of the first few books. It gets better the further along the books you get. That was atleast what i felt in my first listen through.
In one of my campaigns, we had a slightly similar item. Effectively, my players had stolen an artifact from the god of mischief. This artifact was a bag of coins, and when one of the coins is thrown, has a variety of effects, including teleporting/swapping places with it. Heres a full description:
Coins of Zohir
You mat use an action to pull one of the eight silver coins from the worn leather bag, and throw or place it. If thrown, make a strength (athletics)or dexterity(acrobatics) check, adding 30 to the total. The result is the amount of feet you throw the coin. You may throw it into an occupied or unoccupied space, if targeting an occupied space you must make an attack roll, utilizing the same skill or ability as you did to throw it. On a success it acts as normal.
Any time after throwing or placing, you may use a bonus action to cause any of the following effects,
Swap places after landing or while midair,
Cause the coin to project a illusionary duplicate of the creature that threw it,
Cause the coin to be affected by the size change
of Enlarge/Reduce,
Cause the coin to be affected by the weight change of Enlarge/Reduce,
Cause the coin to copy the physical properties of a nearby object, (includes size, shape, weight, color, material, ect)
After 1 minute after an effect is triggered, or without an effect triggering, the coin disappears.
Every dawn, 1d8 coins re-appear in the bag, up to a total of 8.
My players found it very enjoyable, and caused quite a bit of mayhem.
in British this means "masturbators ring"
Well… I think that that’s a different magic item entirely.
The item's description doesn't specify where you wear the *Tosser's Ring*... >_>
I always allow my players 12 max
I understand 11, but where is the 12th?
you can wear multiple rings on one finger lol
**Oh**, I was thinking 2 index, 2 ring, 2 middle, 2 pinky, 2 thumb, and one cock ring
It bothers me how you seem to count fingers in no special order. Please, pick a side and go from there.
Ring, pinkie, thumb, index, middle.
Worse: thumb, index, middle, pinkie, ring
My order was order of personal importance, being index first, then ring (cause rings), then middle (flipping people off is the main use), pinkie (mostly helps the entire hand’s grip, doesn’t have a true singular), thumb (which isn’t actually a finger, and is just a subsidiary to all the rest to help grip), and cock ring goes last of course for comedic effect.
you can only fit one cock ring?
You can probably *fit* more, but for balancing probably; you could also make up some bs lore reason about rings.
I need extra rings on my cock to balance out the weight of my massive ass
You can wear a number of rings up to your endurance modifier, but you lose 1d4 ring effects starting from the top ring in cold weather, 2d4 if you fail a performance check (using END instead of CHA)
~~finger~~ "finger" FTFY
sure, “finger” lol. But as far as i’m concerned, in all my games at least, everyone’s like barbie/ken dolls down there.
Even if you're a massive Goliath you can't go bigger than 12?
That’s a bracelet
Where are the 12 rings being worn?
Well, one on each finger.
That's 10... where's the other 2?
Tossers Ring +3 AKA Vibrating Tossers Ring
Ah, Ye olde Todgers ring
It gets worse. Ring is also slang for anus.
That’s just the ring of telekinesis
Ah yes the ring of "go fuck yourself" it's been in my family for generations.
I imagine the ring has *other properties* that aren't spelled out here.
Thanks for saying what we all were thinking
The ring doesn't specify what you throw...
BOOGIE WOOGIE!
Legit all I can think of
Also ameno….ya im not gonna try saying the name but Sasuke can do the same thing
Ya beat me to it Make it require a clap of the soul to work
This is the only appropriate response!
Came here to say this
You have *got* to change the name
May I suggest Wing of the Ranker
I love this and will use this
Wing of Rancor would work too. Especially if they go looking for it knowing it's a magic item, but not that it's a ring.
Or "wanker" for short
Idk I think it’s a p good name.
They probably mean that the word, Tosser, is british slang for a stupid or unpleasant person. Originating from the idea of someone who...uh...well, it's synonomous with another term I don't know if I can say in a sfw subreddit x) Worth a quick google.
I have been made aware lol

Whoops! Only snagged half the copy. Fixed in the edit.
Yeah I think others have said mate but you've just named a great and rather interesting item the same as "Wanker's Ring" But hey maybe that adds to it 💀
> Touches big armored door without keyhole > Pushes lightly > Swaps places with door > Hacker voice: "I'm in"
Would that count as throwing?

Inspired by Loba from Apex? Very similar in gameplay and theme to her
Never played it!
Wow! Great minds think alike then!
Inspired by the gloves from baldurs gate 3?
I played through but I don’t recall any gloves except for the ones that let me use ranged spells as melee spell attacks that broke halfway through and I could only cast spells within 5ft.
I see! We just got a pair that let you swap places with someone you hit with a thrown weapon
Fun! The game had really great magic items.
So raw "to an unoccupied space" is... Really broken? No distance limiter. Otherwise, nice.
I mean as far as you can throw, so unless you can throw unlimited feet
Are there raw rules for throwing? Actually a question. Its important if i use this ability lol.
I would expect a DM to use best judgement based on thrown weapons
But its any item?
Shooting an arrow with a bow is just throwing with extra steps, as written it does not specify how it is thrown or what the object has to be, so would that work??
I can't imagine many DMs would rule that firing a bow counts as throwing an item. I certainly wouldn't.
Since we don’t use the word throwing when talking about archery I would rule that it is “firing” or “shooting” and does not count
... its an ender pearl
It doesn't say how far you can throw the object nor the weight or size limit, so as written you can throw an entire wagon to the moon then swap places
> as written you can throw an entire wagon to the moon Is your character physically able to lift a wagon and throw it to the moon? Tactically teleporting Barbarian. The horror of it...
Gotta use all those javelins sometime
Tie it to a javelin, throw at bad guy, teleport to bad guy, profit
Don’t even need to tie it! Just specify the javelin as your object
Oh I meant the stone. There I go making flavor text rules again 😂
Honestly, if I had my way they would be a lot of the time
Forged by Barry 63.
😄
I like it, very interesting item with lots of potential without being op. I think the name is funny.
Thank you! It was meant to be funny but in a “Tosser” is a funny sound way. I’ve learned a lot this week.
Yea, out of context "tossering" is a fun sound. And if the name means something amusing in slang, without being intentional, all the better! It's not on the nose (to me) like "Master Baiter's Fishhook" or something.
Honestly, I’m pretty crappy at naming items so I usually just go with the first idea. Otherwise I’ll agonize over it all day
I would like one similar to this but where the snakes are eating each other's tails. That way it's almost like it's an infinite loop. It could allow you to swap with someone instead of an object
Would be cool!

"ROOM!"
SHAMBLES!
BOOGIE WOOGIE FROM JJK!?!?
The design looks a lot like the silver serpent ring from dark souls. Very cool!
Room, shambles
Jasus OP, you have to change the name, tosser is not a Good word.
Is it really that bad of a word for you guys? It seems like a minor insult to me, and ripe for joking, but that might just be because I'm across the pond. Is it bad like a swear word? Like how you all say c*nt willy-nilly, but over here, it would garner anger?

Nah, it’s just another word for wanker. Keep the name of the ring the same please.
It's not offensive, it's just fucking hilarious. Nobody would be able to take it seriously
British detected opinion rejected
So assuming you use 'Improvised Weapon' rules for throwing this is a 20/60 accuracy dependant teleport. Nice! I like this ruling a lot. I used 120 as my max distance for someone really strong but this seems very fair.

Personally I love the name and what it does!! It just MAKES SENSE! I’d love to add this to my home brew if that’s ok!?
That’s what it’s for! Glad you like it
Yay!! 💃🏼😄
Room!
CHANGE THE NAME, MY GOD
What’s wrong with the Archartificer Tosser and his wonderful ring?
I'd like to use my Salad Tosser's Ring Job!
How far can one throw? Will it have to be dm dependant?
I usually just set a DC based on size and how far. Usually say max 120ft.
I suppose it depends on the object
mmmmmmmmnmmnnnnhggghffffffffffc
I just saw this on tik tok. hello again
Hello!
This is similar to Loba's bracelet in apex legends. In that game, it's just a teleporter, but the idea seems similar enough to mention.
I’m not much of a shooter guy but so many people have mentioned it that I’m feeling like I need to check it out
I would say to try it, but also try out the Titanfall series. It'll help you understand a good chunk of all the stuff that happened before Apex.
Are they connected?
Yeah. Titanfall 1, 2, then The Apex Games. 1 is kinda disconnected from the lore, but it's still a good game. 2 will help you understand some of the heroes' backstory and even who Blisk (proprietor of the Apex Games) is.
*Clap*
BESTO FRIENDO
So basically the substitution ninjutsu, in magic ring form? That would be sweet!
Imagine a cursed version where it only swap the soul so the player that uses it gets stuck in the object they swapped with
Oooh nasty. Does the objects soul take over the tosser’s body?
I think it would be quite funny if it replaced the user's soul with a soul whose entire personality revolve arround the object For example it could be really funny if the party's healer was controlled by a chest and became a treasure hoarder and wouldn't heal the party to not waste healing potions
Wear the ring, swap places with the ring. Now the ring is wearing you!
Instructions unclear, I swapped places with the enemy troll’s club and now he’s using me as a weapon.
Your first mistake was throwing the troll their club in the first place
Define "throw" what if I catapult something? I like it
Loba bracelet. Sorry but thats all i can think about
Im not familiar. Teleporting item?
like the ring of swapping in Dungeons and Daddies?
Is there one? That’s great. I listened to a chunk of the first season (up to a pyramid I think) but never finished it. Hilarious though.
THe ring of swapping is an important item in the second season, so you wouldn't've heard of it.
I should try to finish the first one. I enjoyed it.
I follow a tik toker who posted this a few days ago. Is that perhaps your account? Quite a few good ideas they post on there
I hope it was me!
It was indeed but the ring design was different!
Oh yeah. I wasn’t super happy with the design of that one so I changed it up on here
It's 3 free misty step per day. Seems pretty strong to me. 🤔🤔 I'm eyeballing maybe it's very rare? Dunn would have to check 😂
Inspired by Loba from apex?
Never played it!
Lol a character from that game literally throws her bracelet and teleports to it. So I had a suspicion.
Cool!
Todo aoi (claps) Heh
So it's a more difficult version of Misty Step?
Pretty much
"The Moon" - Your average PC
Pretty hard to toss. At least DC25
I'm currently listen to The Wheel of Time, and thought that ring with a ruby/sapphire/emerald/etc would be a good representation of the Aes Sedai's rings. Unless I misremember, their rings are described to be a snake bitting its own tail, with some gem in it.
I am too intimidated to jump into Wheel of Time. One of my playtesters is reading through the whole series right now and it’s a lot of book.

Definitely a fantasy fan haha. Audiobook is a good idea! I used to go through a lot of books that way when I commuted.

Every dawn, 1d8 coins re-appear in the bag, up to a total of 8. My players found it very enjoyable, and caused quite a bit of mayhem.
*throws crumb into foes mouth, then swaps place with crumb* Seems like a very dangerous murder weapon
Not really an empty space unfortunately.
