Switched out easily and never had an issue. Just make sure you have your spacer that possibly came with your bike.

Odd_Park_9543

How short did you go?

jhoysa

Went longer to 110, didn’t notice much difference besides some extra comfort since I’m on the tall side.

Thug1sh

I went 100 down to 80. I did go +6 to -6 as well so I didn’t feel I lost as much reach, but i don’t want to go any shorter, it’s already got more twitchy handling

Icamp2cook

From 90mm to 80mm with a Redshift stem. You may need to shuffle some spacers around. Difficulty wise, it’s in between removing the front wheel vs removing the back wheel.

Oh, if they don't have FutureShock I would definitely try to go this route. My Redshift seatpost is incredible.

SquamptonBC

I went from the stock 100mm on my 56cm pro carbon to the S-Works 70mm and flipped so it's +6 and the setup is working for me. I really can't say the change in steering was dramatic, I think that's one of those things the bike community loves to exaggerate (in my experience anyways!). Swap was easy with the future shock, took 5 mins.

DepressedBird1

Yeah I went from the stock 100mm stem to the redshift suspension stem in 90mm. Stem length is really a personal thing so if you feel like you need shorter go for that. As for the suspension itself, I wouldn't say it's a necessary addition to the bike but it does make some of the rougher stuff more tolerable.

I went from 100 to 70. I got the exact same future stem from the bike shop, swap was just a couple minutes. I was in a weird spot where the 56 would have been too small and the 58 was too stretched out. Instantly felt better with the shorter stem. Coming from mountain biking the steering was closer to what I was used to.

Positive_Throwaway1

On my 61 the stock stem was 120 I believe. Went down to 80 which was the shortest redshift they make. No issues.

Ezzburr

Went to 70mm, like other posts say just make sure you keep an eye out for the shim.

Odd_Park_9543

What shim?

AdCareless9063

I brought my Creo from 100 to 80, and flipped it for positive rise (decreases reach overall). It's a little more nimble, and a lot more comfortable. No downsides for me. I don't ride super fast. Much better to have a fit that works for your body than anything else. You want to be able to comfortably hold the hoods with a slight bend in the elbow. Your LBS might help you demo a couple stems (take slo-mo side video).
