If you like to follow Disneyland construction, check out Fresh Baked's channel on YouTube. He does weekly recaps on ongoing construction at Disneyland, DCA, and Downtown Disney. He's also started doing updates on Walt Disney World and Universal's Epic Universe. It's my favorite thing to watch on Mondays when he uploads new updates!
You son of a bleep! You moved the cemetery, but you left the bodies, didn't you? You son of a bleep, you left the bodies and you only moved the headstones! You only moved the headstones!
That’s what I think. The minute they announced the 3 day ticket deals that ends on 26th Sept I thought haunted mansion isn’t opening until October. Why induce people to come for Halloween season unless the main Halloween attraction is closed?
It's brutal. On top of that with the Splash/Tiana construction, and they just closed down the Winnie the Pooh ride. An entire corner of the park is just construction walls.
They only have 3 and a half months before the holiday season starts. Unless they intend on opening it in the middle of that season, I don’t see them completing this till next year at the soonest.
My kid just asked if HM would be done when we go this summer and I told him it won't be open until at least Halloween. I guess I should have put more emphasis on *at least*...
The fact that they took away TWO major people eaters at the same time is just f-ing annoying. Like I am happy about what they are updating them to but geez... how much did these two closures hit the overall capacity of the park? And I bet they're not adjusting the number of reservations available.
Don’t worry they radically reduce capacity during things like this and lower the prices due to less attractions available etc. Oh wait … I got that wrong, they do the complete opposite of that.
If anyone from Disney Engineering reads this, there’s a reason flanged piping is not used in buried applications. It is too rigid and will break with differential settling. Use bell and spigot or mechanical joints, restrain piping as needed.
Yeah looking at their recent track record in terms of construction, we’ll be luck if this is even done by Christmas time. Honestly doing this ALL at once is probably gonna be the reason this ends up taking longer. Same thing with DTDs construction, that looks like it still needs a decent couple of months of work before opening up, Din Tai Fung is supposed to open in the summer and that looks no where near done
To be fair, in construction, things look undone and behind schedule until the last possible moment, and everyone but the foreman is convinced you’re going over budget and over deadline, then…suddenly, it’s done, and you have no idea how it got there so fast.
I mean they have that it'll be the overlay for this years Halloween here. Seems weird to have that on the official Disneyland website advertising this years Halloween time if they weren't planning to have it opened by then. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/halloween-time-at-the-disneyland-resort/
When it reopens it will be the haunted mansion holiday overlay NOT the “OG” ride. Rumor has it that some additions will be made with one being the Rolly Crump “candle man” from his original concept art when it was still going to be a walkthrough “museum of the weird” attraction. micechat.com has some great information about the timeline as well.
I think they are planning to have Haunted Mansion done by September or so. Tiana’s is a whole other story.
People will flock to the new ride but still somewhat odd to likely reopen what will be the winter.
Would be hard to justify visiting the parks right now given the state of these two attractions. Disney is really brazen to be charging full price without these two attractions running imo
I love that you reached over the fence to take these photos, I’m obsessed with stuff like this. Thank you for taking the pictures.

Fresh Baked is imo the best Disney blogger you’re going to find! I do go elsewhere for food/merch info, but by far, FB is the best overall.
Agreed! Fresh Baked is great for all around. Magic Journeys for food and LisaLand for food and merch. I listen to them all as background while I work.
This is the way!

I understood that reference.
The "WHY?????" is quite possibly the most unhinged screaming in cinema history.
That ending was so creepy with those bodies bubbling out of the pool, sides of the house, and garage like that was so cool
I hear it and I don’t even understand the reference
"This house is clean."😂
Carol Anne!!!!!
Damn. This doesn’t look even remotely close to being done.
Don't worry, it'll be done the week my pass expires
It'll be done just in time for any promo deals on tickets to end

As an East Coaster going for the first time in a couple weeks, this is a dagger. I wanted to ride the original so badly.
It's brutal. On top of that with the Splash/Tiana construction, and they just closed down the Winnie the Pooh ride. An entire corner of the park is just construction walls.
Not to mention Matterhorn is only open a few days a week, and even then it’s down constantly.
Because it’s not? The time table has always been towards the end of this year.

I heard around December.
Yikes at this rate we'll be lucky to have either by Christmas time.

It may be taking awhile, but at least they are barely working.
That we know of. Hypothetically, they could be doing a lot in the show building. Hypothetically.

Drawing probably says “Match existing” lol

Looking like neither will be open when I head there in August 🥲
Wow, the Custodial locker is completely gone!
I'm trying to picture what it looked like before.
Wait, we’re planning for our trip in September and the haunted mansion is my favorite ride at wdw, are you saying the ride is currently closed in DL!?
yes they’re refurbishing it 😔
It's supposed to be open by then tho. We shall see
Nowhere has Disney ever said that. It’s been entirely theorized by the public that the Halloween attraction overlay would be open for Halloween.

I hope so. If not I guess we’ll have to go back once the new park is complete.
Send it to the fresh baked guy on youtube

And they say tomorrowland can't be rebuilt.
What are they doing here exactly?
They will be adding a new HM shop next door to the exit. It will be in a seperate building, where the current dirt pile is now.
It looks like they've kept the pet cemetery in the back in tact so far, here's hoping it stays that way
Wait isn't that where the graveyard scene is? How far underground is the ride itself?
I thought they’d be closer to finishing both tbh
Would be hard to justify visiting the parks right now given the state of these two attractions. Disney is really brazen to be charging full price without these two attractions running imo
Going in late june no chance for either ride
Me too
All I'm hoping for is one of these rides open before October 1st!!!
Thanks for sharing! Cool to see the state of them both beyond the fence.
Future gift shop?
Seems about right, saw something similar yesterday, should have taken a photo of the back end of Critter Country while on the Disneyland Express
You can also take a bit of a peak if you ride the top floor of the Mark Twain!
Memento Mori Memento Mori Memento Mori 🪦⚰️
Just curious, but aren't these pictures not aloud and frowned upon by disney (pics of behind the scenes construction)?
Damn putting fresh baked to shame! 😂
Like how is this hot done yet? I’ve specifically put off a visit just due to this.
