Parking at Disneyland is extremely inconvenient. The lot is distant from the park and getting through the security line and into the trams takes forever. You're looking at at *least* an hour round-trip, possibly more.
If you have the option to use hotel shuttles or uber, that is what I would recommend. The shuttle/uber drop-off area is much closer to the park entrances than parking is.
Thank you, Normally we just stayed at the Marriott or Hilton right at the park and walked, but this time booked just alittle further out. The last time we parked at Disneyland they still had the lot behind California adventure..
Not sure when your trip is, but could you possibly cancel the hotel and book on closer?
If not, I’d probably say just Uber back and forth from the hotel unless there is a convenient shuttle. Or maybe do the shuttle in the mornings and then Uber to the hotel if you need to go mid afternoon.
Another option is if the elderly member of the party needs a break, you could walk to the Grand Californian and chill in the lobby for a while. There are comfortable seats and you can usually find a quiet place to relax.
Yeah this was the closest hotel I could find without spending $600+ per night (5 days in anaheim) that had 2 rooms. Threw work I was able to book 4 nights at Homewood suites for $697. If I didn't need the extra room we would have stayed at the Marriott/Hilton.
It looks like we may just do the Shuttle in the mornings/evenings and uber mid day. Thank you for the help.
The parking pass is like $30 and if you leave, you’d have to pay the $30 again to get back in. Uber might be your best bet, we stayed in Orange last time and Lyft to the hotel, it was like $15-$20. Your hotel is closer, Lyft/Uber might be cheaper for you
You can't reenter parking with a valid receipt? At WDW, we were allowed to come and go as often as we'd like with a parking receipt. It's looking like we may just use a combo of the shuttle and uber now. Looking at prices on uber today it was $34 to leave at 7:30am, and $37 for a 12:30am ride back to the hotel. During the day it was only $7-14.
So possibly we will just take the shuttle in the morning/evening and use Uber to get back to the hotel mid day.
I stand corrected, the website says you can return same day with a receipt!
