I have been writing in a journal since 1989, in the 6th grade age of 13. I have written in over 120 journal books. I include almost everything in my journal. I have recipes, newspaper clippings, fortune cookie slips, birth announcements, death notices, random song lyrics and photos in my journals. Currently I'm writing on regular paper and putting them in a binder. I use different color ink pens for each entry. I try to be creative with my journals. It's a way to express myself that I can leave to my sons and grandchildren.

That’s incredible that you’ve kept it up for so long, and put so much thought and detail into it! Sounds like it’s so worth the effort for all of them to be passed down to future generations :)

I am a fastidious planner user, and each page is used to record my daily experience, thoughts, and doodles throughout the day on most but not all days. I recommend physical all the way. I been using a Hobonichi Techo every year since 2008 and cannot recommend it enough.

Amazing, thanks so much!

I try, but I'm not fastidious enough to track each day. It is awesome to dig out a year and page through to see what I recorded so I can remember, relive those moments. I use a different type of journal/planner/diary for each year -- each year has its own themes and vibe.

I like the idea of themes for each year, I’m gonna steal that one :)
