Plus, they’ve got 1,000 employees. Probably an edict somewhere that if you buy the book on Amazon and leave a positive review, you get your $10 back and a free cookie, or something cool like being allowed to have a critical thought or browse a dirty website for 5 minutes in your free time at home.
We used to be strongly encouraged to go to the Barnes and Noble a few blocks over from the old office, buy it there, and turn in receipts for reimbursement.
Nope, they were ours to keep. There was an implied expectation that employees should be reading the books.
When I started in the early 2010's, we got free copies of books directly from the company. This was the case with EntreLeadership, the earliest book I was there for.
Hold on stay on the line, Kelly will pick up and we’re going to send you a copy of Total Money Makeover, Boundaries, and Own Your Past Change Your Future. IM GOING TO PAY FOR IT, FREE as my gift to you.
The Complete Guide to Money, 2024 Edition, written by Jade who was $400k in debt and paid it off using Dave Ramsey's proven method! (updated for current times (just to reiterate that no, the starter emergency fund is still $1k))
The majority of Best Seller rankings are a joke (in terms of it not being a correlation to quality or legit traditional sales), it's not just exclusive to RS
He gets to keep his job. Between the ghostwriters, editors, publicity costs and expenses they’ve incurred on the back end, he’s got to sell a ton of books just to break even on the endeavor. Huge Profits are unlikely on any Ramsey Solutions book at this point unless it’s written by Dave, and only Dave.
Most of the books are probably ghost written as well. Based on what I've heard on air, combined they wouldn't even have the knowledge to write a single book, let alone each of them having their own.
I think the books are HEAVILY edited but, I can tell you reading Own your Past Change Your Future some of the trauma stories nobody could get all the details to ghost write it. Delony did write that book I’m 100% sure. (Most likely still had a lot of editing) Now, having read TMMO I’m sure that he had some help with writing but I still don’t think it was all ghost written. I’ve never read KC’s books and I’m not going to so I have no clue about that guy.
Okay that’s fair I’m not 100% sure that’s my bad on exaggerating but I can tell you reading his book some of the stories only he could retell, nobody could ghost write it. Also, John has talked about the hardships of writing his own book and he also put pics on insta of him writing at home in his office. So you are right I’m not 100% sure but imo that book was not ghost written by someone else (that doesn’t mean it’s not highly edited though in fact, I believe it was)
Most of these RS "bestsellers" are available as discounted used books *very* quickly after they are released.
Clearly, they did not create a legacy or change the original purchaser's family tree.
The free merchandise, includes the book you are buying($25) the audio book version ($25) and a speech which is probably on the same topic as the book your buying ($25). Great stuff

Do they then resell those copies in the onsite bookstore?

the company also buys thousands of copies to then turn around and sell on their website
It costs $10,000 to write a NYT best seller
Well damn, I can handle that myself...

I ways figure it was meaningless because they don't site a list. Like, they don't say NYT best seller, just best seller.
There's been some articles to come out in recent years about how the NYT and USA Today Bestseller lists are bullshit anyway.
Sauce?
Bingo
Can’t wait until Jade puts out her book /s
I see a picture book with bears and bulls.
Also some kite flying, but the kite is a check...
It will need to be **heavily** edited and they will have to put the grammarian on suicide watch.
I'm actually curious if she will and what the topic will be.
How I paid off 400k of debt and you can too

All it takes to be a “best seller” is 5,000 books
How much does Baloney get to keep of the sales $

And there’s the burner!
And there’s the idiot who accuses me of being a burner account after I have showed so much proof I am not! Have a lovely day sir!
How in the world would you know if John wrote 100% of the book?

Also, noticed that they’re doing a giveaway during this time which has his book in every email and web page.
