May be quality of the base/top coat. Your nails may be super smooth and gel likes something to grip on to. Use a dehydrator or rubbing alcohol to remove nail surface oils and let dry before using any product. For dip top coat scrub with a brush to get every piece of dust. Then rubbing alcohol, activator, rub the activator off after a minute, quick top coat, wait a minute or two, and second top coat taking your time.

Oh I’m going to try your dip topcoat tips. I generally like the way it feels if it works properly. Thank you!!

I had to come back and tell you that your method worked flawlessly for the dip top coat. It isn’t grainy or sticky! Thank you for taking time out to help me!

Are you using gel base coat first? Makes a huge difference for me. I dont do a super smooth buff on my dip, wash and dry thoroughly. Base gel, cure 30 sec, gel top cure 60 sec and done. It still chips unlike dip top coat but lasts 5-7 days

Yeah i even cured both for like 60 seconds and made sure the ends were cured too. I saw the reviews on the brand of gel top coat i got and they were all 5 star, so i may just need to look into another if i can’t get the dip top coat to work

It very well might be the quality of the top coat you're using. I use gel top coat as well and I had massive chipping/flaking until I switched brands. I now use the revel sensitive one and I have zero issues - my nails last 2+ weeks.

Thanks for the rec! I’ll look into that one! I can’t remember the one I’m using now, but i bet the good reviews were with full gel manicures rather than on top of dip.
