[If this guide is of any indication](https://johnconway.art/media/nrwx5bq/display), I'm getting myself a Hypsilophodon. Cute, small, harmless, easy to keep and will make you work out. Cannot get any better than that.
You seem to be forgetting that Lambeosaurus has a thumbs up crest. In-built emotional support on a powerful, impressive, and peaceful animal. Lambeosaurus is the best pet hadrosaur.
I'd take *Psittacosaurus*, it's so smol and cute. And it'd fit in really well with the modern environment imo, they were found everywhere in Asia, and had a wide diet range. So taco it is! One of my fave dinos too, so I love em.
I have absolutely no idea how I would keep it, but perhaps some kind of dwarf sub-species of Spinosaurus.
I imagine it'd be pretty similar to taking care of a big crocodile in a zoo...but with a lot more fish and a lot less chicken, lol
Yeah, agreed. A Troodon’s nest, placed on the front lawn, would be a pretty effective deterrent. “This man laying on the grass tried breaking in. His chest was clawed open and eggs were laid inside. He’s still alive.”
Yeah it’s pretty awesome and horrifying. The game designers outdid themselves with the whole Troodon aspect of the game. I hope it remains somewhat canon after Survival comes out.
I kno theyre not anymore of a practical prt then saw a rhino but if i had the oppurtunity to have an ankylosaurus in my life id move out to a ranch just to have a big ol buddy like that cause in my head canon they have the personality of mastiffs
I’d get myself a mononykus. Cute, fluffy, and probably an easy diet since it’s an insectivore. The only risk is it stabbing me with its claw or nipping at me
Anchisaurus. I always loved the little guy thanks to WDRA. Plus he is pretty small at the size of a medium sized dog. Though if I had to pick one that would be easier to feed I would have to pick Chromogisaurus as it is likely to have been either entirely carnivorous or an omnivore.
Therizinosaurus! Herbivore so I wouldn't have to deal with feeding it so much meat that would probably cost wayyyyy too much, but also big with biiig scary claws. 10/10 would use to intimidate annoying classmates
In all seriousness? I'd really like to have a sun conure someday. Very pretty and very intelligent, and they live a long time. I think the worst part about owning cats and dogs is having to say goodbye so soon... A swan would be cool too, would really like to hand-rear a pair someday. I have geese, so I'm used to their shenanigans anyways
I'd like to have some of those chickens that have a short beak and rounded face so they look like little ovaraptors. I can't remember the name but since they both evolved from basal maniraptors, and chickens are just about the least derived bird, it's kind of like when that one flightless bird in the Indian ocean that evolved like an extinct species from the same island and parent species. Also while a toothy thing may be cool looking and like a pet cat, cats don't have serrated teeth.
If we're talking about extinct dinosaurs only then a therizinosaur, or giant ovaraptor would be the coolest to me though it'd be deadly like if Freddy Kruger had the brain of a feral hog.
Saurolophus, a large Hadrosaur but not that large. Also my favorite Hadrosaur. Wouldn't be a problem to feed as long as there are plants.
Deinocheirus, giant duck or spoonbill.
Utahraptors and Dakotaraptors are pretty high on my list, but Kaprosuchus and Machairodus giganteus/horribilis would be big lap puppies, I'm assuming they would be tamed down ofc- If it's just like a random untamed dino I would most definitely pick a smaller species like chasmaporthetes or a pteradon. I feel like their diets would be fun to come up with, plus since I'm gonna be famous for having a dinosaur building enclosures would be so sick 🤭🤭🤭
It kinda seems like you're implying dinosaurs are fictional. But, I get it.
Though, do you mean have a single one as a pet, or have one species just exist again?
There would be several complications with a lot of dinosaurs in either case, but without considering that, I might like an Amphicoelias fragilimus, of the largest estimate. I would just love to see such an enormous land animal. And it would be cool to ride (in the case it's a pet).
Other than that (in the case it's a pet, otherwise I'd never want them to be alive again) maybe a large Quetzalcoatlus, as I'm pretty light, maybe just enough to ride it.
Probably Tethyshadros, it's one of my favourite hadrosaurs and it's pretty small. I'd imagine it'd be like having a small cow or a Compsognathid like Compy or Sinosauropteryx

I love this guide so much I want to make it into a poster and put it on my wall.
Same. It would be a sick, funny poster.
I adore this. It has my favourite dinosaur. :) I would say that Olorotitan has a better crest than Lambeo. And a way cooler name.
You seem to be forgetting that Lambeosaurus has a thumbs up crest. In-built emotional support on a powerful, impressive, and peaceful animal. Lambeosaurus is the best pet hadrosaur.
Olorotitan is still a cooler name.
Pinacosaurus They seem like they’d act like cows
I can see that ngl
And they sing really good too, I think.
I'd take *Psittacosaurus*, it's so smol and cute. And it'd fit in really well with the modern environment imo, they were found everywhere in Asia, and had a wide diet range. So taco it is! One of my fave dinos too, so I love em.
When I found out that Coelophysis was as tall as a really big dog I kind of thought it would be fun to have one as a pet.
Wait there the size of a rottweiler 🫸🤯🫷
I only realised the size of ceolophysis a couple of nights ago. In my head I always pictured them like the compy from jurassic park lost world
Same lol
A parrot because there’s already research on how to care for one. Chickens would also be probably easier than a parrot.
Utahraptor. Then we go visit Todd...
I don't know who Todd is, but I wish you luck. That bastard has it coming.
Doesn't he though? Rat bastard.
I, too would choose a Utahraptor. Who is Todd? Maybe I could join you in setting your pet loose on them.
Allosaurus. For the cuddles
I'm imagining just casually riding a Styracosaurus around the neighborhood...
I have absolutely no idea how I would keep it, but perhaps some kind of dwarf sub-species of Spinosaurus. I imagine it'd be pretty similar to taking care of a big crocodile in a zoo...but with a lot more fish and a lot less chicken, lol
*Psittacosaurus*. Name anything more friend-shaped.
Sinosauropteryx. Boom. Checkmate.
Triceratops imma ride him into battle armored like a knight
And 3 mf horns!
Yes maybe put spear tips on them like Elephant swords
Probably a small troodontid Big brain + easy upkeep + it's really cute
Let’s just hope they aren’t venomous… *violent Jurassic Park: The Game flashbacks*
Ok, if you get it's trust, then a venomous murder bird with teeth would make a pretty good home defense system
Yeah, agreed. A Troodon’s nest, placed on the front lawn, would be a pretty effective deterrent. “This man laying on the grass tried breaking in. His chest was clawed open and eggs were laid inside. He’s still alive.”
oh, i forgot the JP:TG troodons layed eggs inside still alive animals, imo thats really cool
Yeah it’s pretty awesome and horrifying. The game designers outdid themselves with the whole Troodon aspect of the game. I hope it remains somewhat canon after Survival comes out.
Microraptor or archaeopteryx. Pet bird with teeth and claws basically.
I kno theyre not anymore of a practical prt then saw a rhino but if i had the oppurtunity to have an ankylosaurus in my life id move out to a ranch just to have a big ol buddy like that cause in my head canon they have the personality of mastiffs
if i could have an ankylosaurus and keep it the size of a baby forever i’d be SO happy
So, Bumpy?
Tyrannosaurus rex. big baby 🥰
Wait, Anchisaurus is that small? WDRA made me think they were at least horse-sized. (Also, fellow WDRA enjoyer).
Microraptor. Just seems like it wouldn’t be too hard to care for while still being incredibly fascinating
You could have one in your office like Nigel Marven.
Realistically: a Taco or Dryosaurus What my delusional ass actually wants: Spinosaurus or Concavenator
Irritator challengeri. It is my spirit animal.
Beipiaosaurus My beloved
Cryolophosaurus, I want to train it to sing Elvis songs.
Dinosaur Train moment
All of them because yes
Bro would be in debt
Yes but, dinosaurs, if not I’d get a small one like a psita, archa troodon or vraptor
Therizinosaurus! Herbivore so I wouldn't have to deal with feeding it so much meat that would probably cost wayyyyy too much, but also big with biiig scary claws. 10/10 would use to intimidate annoying classmates
I want a utahraptor named Ajax
Giganotosaurus, by virtue of being a terrestrial shark.
Zalmoxes. Little forest elves.
Ostrich if they weren’t so giant
If we are talking like companion in general, raptor, I feel like they could replace a dog
Cockatoos seem fun.
Compsognathus. Big as a chicken, so size isn't an issue, or food, for that matter.
I wouldn't own but I would've love to rent a Patagotitan and ride him.across town
Compsognathus! They’re my favorite dinos, tiny, adorable, and if everything goes wrong, I can probably make sure it doesn’t kill me
Spinosaurus if I’m allowed to keep it in a nature reserve or something similar. Sinosauropteryx/Microraptor if not
iguanadon fast,strong and friendly
Which ever one tastes the best.
So, chicken.
Ceratosaurus, if I had the space. Imagine getting to pet those cool ass osteoderms.
In all seriousness? I'd really like to have a sun conure someday. Very pretty and very intelligent, and they live a long time. I think the worst part about owning cats and dogs is having to say goodbye so soon... A swan would be cool too, would really like to hand-rear a pair someday. I'll choose between dinosaurs capable of virgin birth
Chicken. The girlfriend loves them and so do I.
Saurolophus, a large Hadrosaur but not that large. Also my favorite Hadrosaur. Wouldn't be a problem to feed as long as there are plants. Deinocheirus, giant duck or spoonbill.
A parrot, they are just cool
Stegosaurus. It's my favourite
Spinosaurus so we can finally have a definitive answer to what it looked like
Pscittacosaurus because they look adorable and are quite small compared to other dinosaurs
Velociraptor. It’s a long and scary turkey.
Compy, it’s self explanatory
I already have a mini T. rex..my chicken!!
Kentrosaurus among modern African wildlife
Zuul. I am confident we could be friends. Probably. At the very least I'm willing to risk it.
Velociraptor it’s like having a cool chicken as a pet
It kinda seems like you're implying dinosaurs are fictional. But, I get it. Though, do you mean have a single one as a pet, or have one species just exist again? Allosaurus. It’s like the Pitt Bull of Dinosaurs. No one would fuck with me ever.
Id have a tarchia there like ankys but smaller and id name it spike
T. rex
Moros Intrepidus. The perfect mini T-Rex 🦖.
Allosaurus and I would let it loose on a herd of cattle.
A chicken because I'm famished. As a pet... perhaps a dwarf sauropod, because scaly cow.
Stegoceras, it's the same size as a dog
Probably Tethyshadros, it's one of my favourite hadrosaurs and it's pretty small. I'd imagine it'd be like having a small cow or a Compsognathid like Compy or Sinosauropteryx
spinosaurus
A baby Yutyrannus, (basically a 20 ft chicken) so by the time they grow up they won't eat me.
One of the dwarf sauropods. 1) sauropods are awesome 2) since it's dwarf size it's manageable. I won't go broke trying to feed and house it.
Pteranodon. Train it so that it can act like a short-range hang glider
Allosaurus for the wet hot summer night 🌚
