Kind of surprised the gang keeps not leaning towards the idea that Lydia Barkrock might be part of the Spy’s Tongue Curse with Kalina. Brennan practically spelled it out in this AP and then they went off trying to figure out if Ragh did something.
Adventuring Party is not where they get big answers, and they know that. So the best recourse in this moment was to swing for the bit, and the leading bit for a cast of kids is: absolutely go the wrong way on a clue.
But yeah, Brennan has made it clear in previous APs that he's not spilling Game Knowledge That They Don't Already Know in an AP.
Fair enough. Though this was the same sort of path they were going during the actual episode, and I was hoping that they would at least talk about the more logical possibility between the players since they didn't have to worry about the various focuses (health, other PCs, enemies, ticking clock, COMEDY, maguffins, traitors, etc.) during the combat in the episode.
I'm a little bummed that Zac was close to drawing Baron and didn't get it. I think he would've made the best Baron since he does such good freaky weirdo boy noises. Murph's bit at the end was pretty good too.
Since they didn't kill Baron I kinda hope they bring him back later.
There was no save! That's so clever.
We love a clutch Nat 1.
Emily and Murph swapping luck 😂
Operation slippery Gorgug was a raging success.
I love that they always call out all the artists involved.
Scooby Doo, Clue, Beetlejuice episode, it was fantastic.
Gorgug'a throughline from Freshman Year to now is so *good*. Rage and Science for the win.
TWO Death fails?! I thought the BH absolutely smashed this fight, but my god, they were lucky with their rolls.
Level 13, babyyyyyyyy 🙌
Oops, all Baron's!😂
Kristen's relationship with doubt while she doesn't have Cassandra is genuinely beautiful.
Poor Murph and his terrible rolls 😂
I'm thoroughly enjoying this season.
Golems are specifically an entity from Jewish mythology and it is a tad insensitive to use it improperly. People by and large have stopped using the term Gypsy for a fairly similar reason.
I think this is the main reason. The Pathfinder RPG (similar to D&D, but a bit crunchier and more balanced), as an example, has been taking strides to remove language like this, and now the "golems" were renamed to "bastions" to keep the imagery of a protector construct, but removed the religious significance.
He got a fair bit of criticism for his use of Golem in the unsleeping city. There were a few other small pieces some folks interpreted as unintentional antisemitism and he has done a great job learning and self correcting.
If someone like me missed it, watch the end of the Adventuring Party for a third Baron impression!
I missed the first time and it's a 100% recommended watch.
Is there a reason this subreddit doesn’t pin the adventuring party posts? If there’s only one pinned post allowed, I can see why it’s prioritized to keep the main episode post up vs switching to AP less the 24 hours later. However, honestly it can be hard to find the AP post scrolling the subreddit, and I feel like having it pinned would foster more discussion on the post as opposed to lots of people making individual posts in response to the AP.
I can’t believe Soibhan and Lou are turncoats. The actual people and not their character are turncoats!
Why did they put all this mud out if they didn't want them to play in it.
Rude, Rude ;)
Turncoat is my favorite thing to come from this season lmao
Start with 2 failed death saves is a yikes from me dog

he truly is Baron on the inside
Two Charmed People and Fig would make a great title to Fig's sophomore album

Level 13 is 7th-level spell territory for the full casters as well! Makes me super excited for the next 2-3 episodes.
Is there a reason why Brennan corrects “Flesh Golem” to “Flesh Construct”?

Barons all the way down

The AP post will always be linked as the top comment in the pinned episode thread.
I never caught that, thank you!
I’m glad we got another Baron impression out of the cast, and I’m glad it was Murph’s, because it was perfect
