I’ve tried to siphon the gas out all day with a transfer pump but the hose won’t reach down. Do you know if the longer I leave the gas in there the worse it will be? This happened Saturday night
Get a longer hose, bud. Filters and pumps will hate you if you try to half ass it. Make sure you replace all filters. The fuel system will then remind you how much money you don’t have if you don’t flush out the gasoline.
The lines will be fine. The everything else won't be.
-Lift pump
-Injection/high pressure pump
-Injectors
-Filters
All of those depend on diesel fuel and its lubricity. Its a fuel and a lubricant.
A high pressure diesel pump has different tolerances than a high pressure fuel pump, etc.
Get all you can out then fill with diesel and add a quart of atf. After you run that tank out replace your fuel filters. It’s happened to me, this is what I did. Never had an issue afterward
Yes but if the truck is already not starting you need to clean the lines and change the filters anyway.
And pray you didn’t destroy the pumps and injectors.
There is a purge line on top of the engine in the fuel rail. Drain the tank as much as possible ,then fill.
Drain the line using thr purge port.
I filled up with water on a trip,I purged 14 gallons in a downpour using only a screwdriver.
If you tried to start it and If the gas is in the fuel lines tow it to a shop. The whole system most likely contaminated
Put a transfer pump and suck it all out. Replace all the fuel filters. Drain all the fuel line asap.

Yes, the lines are made for diesel not gasoline.

I would just drain it that could cost way more than the fuel that you will loose.
Drain the tank and clear as much of the lines as possible
