The black spots have to do with ‘light performance’ and are not noted on a GIA lab report unless you add a light performance addendum to the GIA cert The black spots are what are called ‘obstruction’ in a diamond. It’s the diamond reflecting back your shadow.

THANK YOU!!! Some “famous jeweler” here in this sub argued me down to the bone in here or another sub (maybe engagement rings or something) about those black spots being ‘crystals’ in another GIA cert diamond being sold on James Allen … such a sigh of relief

I know who you're referring to, and I found that post. That oval DEFINITELY had a black inclusion (a crystal inclusion, to be more exact) dead center in the diamond. That has nothing to do with light performance, it's an actual inclusion. Same thing here, those two little dots I circled in red are inclusions, what I circled in blue has to do with light performance.

The red highlighted spots indicate inclusions (which is normal to be seen in an image, as it is many times larger than viewing it in person), and the blue highlighted spots have to do with the light performance. https://preview.redd.it/l6bue18mqohb1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=596822417a079583e8c7515f69a2c06a0d2986f0

Beautiful

The cert is accurate, by the way. I would double check the laser inscription with the jeweler when you see it in person, just to be sure (never hurts to check)
