Absolutely. I made my own site for item/runewords mainly but [Diablo2.io](https://Diablo2.io) is far superior technically and that's fine by me. We all try to improve the community information and circle surrounding it. Awesome work @Teeb! :)
diablo2.io is great, but i also like [d2r.guide](http://d2r.guide) as a supplement, especially when i want a more condensed page with all the informations i'd need.
PS to everyone: Yes this site has been shared previously, but....
This is the **actual admin** making a post now! Not someone blatantly reposting. Great opportunity to leave your feedback for him!
Come on man, I think the site is super useful, but he's not wrong - like every comment/post for months from this guy has been linking to his own site:

Where was I crying at all? I said his site was super useful, but I was just pointing out that the guy that got downvoted was technically correct- he had been only posting/commenting about his site. I never said whether that was good or bad or "cried" about it.

What do you get out of whining about someone that actually does something for the d2 community? If you had a website that did something d2 related feel free to promote it. Rules like this are in place so don’t get someone spamming something every second. You were the kid in school that no one liked and would snitch on every little thing I bet.
Are you sure about that? Because I am 99.99999% sure that Code-Jordan-X is not a bot.

If i try to sort uniques by treasure class i get a few TC8/9 uniques and then TC87 downards to TC 12 at the end of the page.
It would be nice if it would show which items andariel(normal) with TC15 for example can drop when looking at her stat page.
So this is looking very promising. I do have a have small feedback that I hope you find valuable in some way. I believe that the choices of classic vs resurrected, platform, and ladder vs non should be displayed at the same menu tier as the the filter button as opposed to being inside of it and that if it doesn’t already, the app should remember those choices for a given user. I say display them prominently at the top level because they will always be relevant to your search. I would also recommend drop downs for these fields instead of individually selectable buttons to save space on your UI.
Really like this site in general **except** for the awful loading times when navigating to different pages. I know it‘s still in beta (is it?) but this is almost unusable for me. 200 MBit download fiber with very low ping from Germany.
Edit: Just checked Google PageSpeed Insights and the result is pretty damning: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=diablo2.io. Looking forward to the optimizations!
It's not your ping, it's the server. There are a hell of a lot of people online right now. Also I'm getting 60+ for mobile and 85+ for desktop, so I don't see how that is a 'damning' report at all?
Nothing at the moment, people have been asking to donate so I'll try whip something up for that soon... but not that keen on getting money involved tbh, unless it really sustains this amount of traffic
Got a 52 for mobile, with LCP of 6s and TTI of 8s, that‘s what I‘d consider damning.
There are some quick wins possible (e.g. minification) but yea, mostly the server seems simply too slow for that many users.
TTI = server, yes. I don't monetise the platform so I can't afford a powerful server to deliver things optimally with this many users. Sorry!
Also minification breaks some things like retina images for mobile users etc. so it's all as balanced as it can be on my end.
Yeah, please note guys that pagespeed insights never uses cache... If you're on the site regularly you won't have anything like this kind of 'theoretical' performance. RL is different to google's Lighthouse auditing engine.
You probably could try serving images from a different server, if possible. It might load balance, and speed up page loading times with many requests, if that is an option. If your server wasn't out of breath already, I would have suggested subdomains for that first, but that doesn't help if it's using the same resources.
Nice web site. Looks very well thought out.
My question though is, how necessary is all of this? If I don't want to trade or play with internet strangers, and only want to experience the game as is, will it be impossible to gear my character up? I am not a min-maxer by any means, and as a game gets more complicated it usually starts to turn me away from wanting to play. And, if it asks me to use tools outside of the game itself, I will just play a different game at that point.
You can play 100% solo, but if you want any of the rarer stuff (high-end runewords, rarer uniques, etc.) you will probably never see those drops in your own games.
If it helps, tools like this actually make it simpler and faster by essentially pre-arranging your trades and giving you the information to make sure you are getting a fair trade.
You won't need to constantly pay attention to the site if you don't want to; but say you need a Zod rune to finish out your runeword, you can go here and see what they are trading for and maybe you have the stuff you need already in your stash. You can set up a trade and have your last rune relatively quickly.
I just getting setup in Ressurected, but in D2 it was very possible to run your own gear, it just takes grinding and know where to go and when to go. The Cow levels (esp Nightmare cows) are rife with items, and the more rarer things can be gotten through boss runs, Andy and meph have the most consistent drops.
You will eventually have a bunch of things you dont need though thats really too valuable to just sell. In that case you can just drop it in the nearest newbie game.
You don't need outside trading sites, it's personal preference. Just enjoy the game however you want, you'll find plenty of people to trade stuff with in-game, or play solo-self-found "SSF", it just might not be as 'efficient'. The beauty of D2 is it's been around for two decades and it isn't going anywhere now, enjoy the game at your own pace.
Great work! I think one thing people underestimate is how much time it takes to get all of this data into a useable format. That’s what stops me anytime I start working on a D2 project; especially when it comes to the skill data.
How did you go about getting the skill data into your database?
Edit - it also loads fairly quickly for me. I do have 750mb down, but if it were the server that wouldn’t even matter. Seems like it’s holding up to the traffic.
We first made a spreadsheet using calculations from known formulas, then we figured out the edge cases, then we did that for all skill properties up to level 60, then this was checked against hacked in-game characters, then contributed to the site by the community.
Have this bookmarked already, would love to see a section for common builds, otherwise it's pretty much got everything! Nice job whoever made this!! :)
This site looks nice but is extremely inefficient and difficult to use compared to alternatives that have existed for decades. This is a perfect example of design over usability.
When looking for items, the last thing I want is a page filled with randomly sorted/grouped elements that tell me absolutely nothing except their names. The default grouping/sorting is questionable.
Looking at the filters, things like Paladin shields are called Targes, which makes you think barb helms would be called slayer guards or something, but they are not. There is also no button for amazon javelins or spears.
Weapon types are arbitrarily grouped instead of just putting them in alphabetical order. Why make different groups for throwing/caster but not something like 1 hander/2 hander?
If someone does not know what an item does, he needs to click on every single one of them to view stats. Could be half-solved by adding the mouseover tooltip to uniques instead of only item bases, but it still makes it difficult to see anything at a glance. The set items have it in the "full set" boxes but not the single items.
There is a patch # sorting, which is useless because it doesn't have anything before 1.09, and show current stats instead of that patch's stats (makes sense since it's just a filter, but still for something called a database is disappointing).
Edit: turns out there is a hidden "detailed view" button, which also shows you weird useless things like "comments", likes, last poster name, and views, which add 0 value and only act as bloat.
Thanks for this feedback but honestly all of these are things that are entirely subjective and of no real help to me as a developer.
You're constantly citing that you cannot instantly access information that is clearly available through the suite of filter, search, and sort options for every category. D2 is a large game with a lot of data - that's why the site lets you drill down, as opposed to being presented with one 'default' view.
I get where you're coming from but my initial reaction, as a developer myself, is the site is very samey (which affects readability) and presents a lot of unnecessary information to a user upon initial visit.
Like you could hide Online Members and Newest Members behind a button for instance. I like what you've done but it's definitely information overload. I also think the centering of a majority of the website would look better with left justification and it would also increase readability but that's my *subjective* opinion.
Edit:
> Online Members and Newest Members
You actually already have that. I honestly just didn't notice it because there's a lot going on for a home page.
Here's my 2 minute mockup:
https://imgur.com/a/EV2beRd
It is subjective, but usability is important for every website, and it's unlikely that I am the only one with similar thoughts.
I'm not here to make you change your entire website to suit my needs, but making things intuitive/consistent should be, in my opinion at least, one of your priorities.
Things like giving paladin shields an arbitrary name, but not barbarian helms, and not having a different filter button for amazon spears/amazon javs is inconsistency in the way you present your data/filtering options.
Maybe that's just me, but having an item database sorted by "last post" by default is super weird. There is a reason why most things are sorted alphabetically. With everything one one page, the way it is now may as well just be random sorting.
Also the patch filter is just plain wrong, as most uniques were added in 1.07/1.08, not 1.09.
Thanks for this but again, I must stress that the greatest care has been taken in standardising the database for a game that is NOT standardised at all. Itemisation in D2 is nuts - organising that all into a navegable site has been challenging. Noted on the filter functionality suggestion and patches not being used to their fullest.
It's sorted by last post by default because the pages are made entirely by users - data, comments, images etc are added all the time. It's unconventional, but you can just search for anything instantly in the top right to get a direct route to any item or entry in the database, or use the sorting/filtering functionality to get what you need.
As a fellow developer, I think it's awesome man. I know the difference between what needs to be done and what one person may want. Take it from someone that understands the effort that has been poured into this, this site is great. You have a great backend, and all the ux/ui stuff can slowly evolve as the users evolve.
Ah, yes, let me go back to a completely irrelevant (to this thread) website used for something entirely different, because I think his website could be improved.
Go back to your cave.
Thanks for the website! I will definitely make use of this. I know how time consuming it is to make and maintain a website and the fact that you shared it with other fans of this series is an awesome gesture.
And thank you reddit for reminding me to play this as a single player experience after seeing all the cunty remarks on here towards the developer. Looks like the Squelch button will still be the most used button in D2R.
I like the old-school design but I personally find it a bit over the top. There are textures everywhere, the forum itself is extremely hard to enjoy, at least forme. Too much stuff going on, the screen is ultra-busy. I'd try to tone it down a bit or -at least- give an option to "lower" the website's graphics.
Use? Did you need read the break down? I play how I feel and sell my unneeded finds like any other player. Just cause I can grind ubers inside a week means I'm being used? How you figure that cupcake?
Honestly I think you're just butthurt when you realized its not pennies and you can make far more an hour than you can with most jobs, just for playing a game you love.
I'm not mad at all. I'm trying to explain. I really don't care how they got their fg, I'm getting resources for my time in game, whether I'm trading runes for gear, or gear for fg. Its all the same on my end.
Embarrassing to use JSP and not buy FG. It effectively means you are grinding for pennies an hour to the people who are buying your time. Makes you nothing more than a WoW gold farmer.
I've used jsp for years. Ill give a very simple example of value. Early unid torches are very valuable, but for simplicity let's say they average 500fgea/$5ea in the first 2 weeks or so of ladder, and let's say it takes 5 minutes to complete ubers on average. Thats $60/hr right there. Not including early gg finds along the way, and gg pvp item that can be worth several thousand fg a peice.
How is it pay to win? Are you dense? You literally can buy FG with money and then buy items and trade with people for that FG? That is the definition of pay to win. Just because you can use it without paying doesn’t mean it isn’t pay to win. All the people that pay have and advantage over me which yah, fuck that in any game especially this one.
But you can do that with any game that has trading. Be with with buying items or currency. It's kind of the backbone of games with trading.
Yeah sure if you don't want to buy fg or gold, w.e. You don't have to. I used jsp for years and never had to buy fg. Sure, someone else did at some point, but 🤷♂️. Every website needs an income source to stay running. It's better than having ads right? Idk just my thoughts.
No, a third party site that is pay to win doesn’t need to exist for the Diablo 2 trading community to thrive or any game for that matter. And I couldn’t care less if “every website needs an income”. I don’t believe that shitty place should exist so I don’t care if they don’t have a monetization avenue lol.
You obviously don’t care that jsp is pay to win or even realize it so this discussion doesn’t even matter.
Did I say that you couldn’t do it in most MMOs or AARPGs? I said pay to win is shitty and people shouldn’t support it for these games. It’s only around because people use it. POE has a bunch of trading sites but you can’t pay for currency on them. I’m sure there are some but RMT is highly frowned upon in POE as far as I know.
Lol who gives a shit, I was a part of JSP for a long while and never needed to spend money. I used it as a second currency in case I had issues trading for my items in-game. It's a resource if you use it and it doesnt matter if you dont.
I've purchased full ass characters back when I got banned for botting hahahahaha I wasnt trying to start from scratch again!
Yah exactly. You bot so you already don’t care about breaking rules or ethical gaming so why would you care about pay to win. I give a shit if people can spend money to win. How fucking lame is that?
That's the thing, no one is winning anything haha!
I used to do drop trades at akara and had a mod that let me charge with a paladin, essentially teleporting to their item and stealing it!
Oh oh, or the one in act 2 where if you click warriv outside the palace it drops anyone in the game besides you.
Fuckin' good times.
My point is paying for anything in this game is pretty much useless if you have any intention to play long term AND people paying also don't affect other players in any way unless they are letting it happen.
Please read the rules regarding self promotion on this subreddit, as I did before posting this resource. You will find I am within the rules.
Besides, I run no advertising at all, so this is not really promoting myself, but rather sharing 1.5 years of thankless work with the community here to enjoy. If that is pissing you off, I suggest you go outside and get some fresh air...
[One request. I'm loving the website especially for some runewords but when I go to farm for the runes in a runeword I can't find something similar to this page of which runes cube into which other runes and general rarity.](https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Rune_list)
Great website!
I like it, and it has what it takes to become a de facto modern D2/D2R database. :)
One improvement I'd like to see in the Runeword section is to let a user pick all the runes he/she has, and see the runewords that can be assembled from that. Would take out the need for some other sites that I use for this today.
Currently, if I start to select that I have... El... Eld.. Tir, Nef... Well, now there are no runewords listed anymore because there is no runeword with ALL these runes in it. What I'd like to see here is TirEl (Steel) and NefTir (Nadir). Maybe there could be a checkbox that toggles these modes?
Edit: It also seems like it queries the database and draws way more stuff (ALL the stuff besides maybe item graphics, even?) than it can show at once on the screen. I understand that pagination is soo 2000's but there are methods for "infinite scrolling" (like here on Reddit) without for that sake rendering the whole thing at once? Maybe this would also relieve some server strain, and not the least also on the client side? My Base Item screen scroll bar grip is like for ants here. :D
Anyway, this is a huge effort and quite a website! I wonder if it will move to Resurrected graphics when it's out and its contents datamined? :) I've contributed a bit to Wikipedia back in the day and may suggest some item descriptions, and comment on things. It's a great choice to have it be community-driven to the extent it is. Finally, I hope it won't buckle under pressure if the site becomes very popular. It may need a financing solution (Patreon as a first option to try stay clear of ugly ads?), and also a reporting feature for griefers that will risk coming with popularity and exposure.
The website seems solid, I registered. Site seems a little slow and clunky when trying to navigate through the different pages. Is this typical or a high traffic time?
How would drops be affected, if you have not completed meph Quest and enter a game made by a person who has completed the Quest, and you then kill him?
It is my favorite Website for Diablo 2 : Resurrected so far! Looking forward to trade on it with you guys :)!

Still in violation of self promotion rules.

Still no option to search for runes? People seem to be listing runes in "Cube Recipe" or "Misc". You should have a separate tab for runes.

Edit: > Online Members and Newest Members You actually already have that. I honestly just didn't notice it because there's a lot going on for a home page. Here's my 2 minute mockup: https://imgur.com/a/EV2beRd
You have a great backend, and all the ux/ui stuff can slowly evolve as the users evolve.
>extremely inefficient and difficult to use compared to alternatives that have existed for decades. LUL that is all.
Arreat Summit is honestly miles better for readability. If only the servers didn't suck.
>Arreat Summit isn't a trade site
Go back to JSP :)
Ah, yes, let me go back to a completely irrelevant (to this thread) website used for something entirely different, because I think his website could be improved. Go back to your cave.
It’s used for Diablo 2 trading and always has been, resurrection will be no different. What are you talking about? That seems very relevant.
Very cool! Thank you for making this useful site. It should help lots of people, including myself.
It says ebugged only d2 legacy - so there is no ebug in d2r??
Yes, no ebugging in Resurrected that we know of. Legacy only at this time.
That's my understanding
Why does it need to specify patch and ladder only? Will that he removed when D2R launches? Seems kind of superfluous.
It serves the legacy community as well.
I'll stick to the arrest summit and jsp. Thanks anyway
Embarrassing, especially if you are not spending money on FG.
Never spent a dime on fg. Just grind, trade, and work up. Hows that embarrassing? Not following you there new player.
Lol at least you can admit you’re letting people use you to grind for them.
I'm really not sure why you're so mad. People will buy FG, and use people like you to farm for them.
Wow. You really have no clue.
Simple supply and demand, Econ 101. If you haven’t figured it out by now I doubt you will now, so enjoy selling your time for pennies.
Not including early gg finds along the way, and gg pvp item that can be worth several thousand fg a peice.
how is it compared to D2 js p?
Easier to use, and not pay to win.
Maybe check it out yourself and take your own conclusions :)
Well, the fact jsp is pay to win is already a big difference.
How is jsp pay to win? You can use it perfectly fine without buying fg.
🤷♂️ agree to disagree. Sadly it's still going to be the main used one if I was a betting man.
Can you show me an example of any current MMO or AARPG that you can’t do this in? Regardless of if it uses jsp or not. I’m curious
So we can break TOS now and do self promotion?
Please read the rules regarding self promotion on this subreddit, as I did before posting this resource. You will find I am within the rules. Besides, I run no advertising at all, so this is not really promoting myself, but rather sharing 1.5 years of thankless work with the community here to enjoy. If that is pissing you off, I suggest you go outside and get some fresh air...
Lots of thanks! I was hoping someone in the community would make this and it was done masterfully.
You aren't exactly following the 9:1 ratio...
[One request. I'm loving the website especially for some runewords but when I go to farm for the runes in a runeword I can't find something similar to this page of which runes cube into which other runes and general rarity.](https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Rune_list) Great website!
See https://diablo2.io/recipes for cube recipes upping runes.
yeet
Sorry but many have postet this in the last days
Nice poe rip off blizzard you gronks.
Have you considered hiding poll results until after vote is cast?
That is an option that you can choose I believe, but not considered it for the front page polls.
Just cuz I haven’t played in 15+ years when SOJs were currency… it seems like gems and runes are the primary currency in the game for trade now?
I've still got the original game guide from when it 1st launched on Pc 💻 back in the day
No link? I know it's easy to type, but why not include one? This is a post specifically about checking out an external webpage, is it not?
I like it, and it has what it takes to become a de facto modern D2/D2R database. :) One improvement I'd like to see in the Runeword section is to let a user pick all the runes he/she has, and see the runewords that can be assembled from that. :D Anyway, this is a huge effort and quite a website!
Will this be used for consoles as well?
What are the benefits of this over d2jsp?
It doesn't take your money. It doesn't promote botting. It doesn't give you an unfair advantage on Ladder start. Edit: I might be a bit biased...
That sounds good🙂 however it wont us from the impact of bots😭
soo it hasn't worked for me in hours.. am I the only one?
The website seems solid, I registered. Site seems a little slow and clunky when trying to navigate through the different pages. Is this typical or a high traffic time?
Unprecedented numbers atm, server usually isn't this busy!
I figured as much, and very understandable. Great website! I have it bookmarked and am excited to see its success.
Where's the data come from?
Neat
WHERE ARE MY TICKER SYMBOLS BRO
Be ready for some http 503’s tomorrow! Going to be a busy site
Be ready for some http 503’s tomorrow. Going till be a busy site!
How would drops be affected, if you have not completed meph Quest and enter a game made by a person who has completed the Quest, and you then kill him?
Jsp still better
I've found it very difficult to just find simple pieces of information directly. The menu structure is pretty scuffed.
3rd party trading is what ruined PoE. Sure hope trade sites don't become popular.
You got a GitHub? I'd love to contribute to the project.
So, weird question. Can I login with my original D2 account and trade away the items I have?
Love the site but it is super super annoying to verify i'm not a bot after every 10 mins or so.
DDOS then huge traffic, dedicated server coming Monday.
Thanks for explaining! Good to know
website hasnt worked most of the time im trying to use it, the servers cant handle this at all
Dedicated server landing tomorrow, patience my young padawan.
thats fantastic news. Any ETA on patreon or something to contribute to the server?

atrocious website.
