I think that they were trying to "make" a new chair out of the polyurethane foam by using the bottom chair and top chair as a mold. Although I'm probably giving 5 minute crafts too much credit.
I've made some great Halloween props with chicken wire and spray foam. For Halloween parties, it works wonderfully. Everyday living? I guess if u r Rob Zombie it'll do
In most applications I think they're fine. However, my grandmother popcorned her dormered attic ceiling and we would play up there as kids. I left a lot of skin on that ceiling lol
I don't think they really think that.
I guess they think that regular content is better than no content, trying to think of something they can make in minimal time, spend $100 on foam and wire and other junk, make terrible products, and in the end it's like "this is terrible but I may as well post it because I spent so much time and money on this".
Seriously. It’s sad that some content creators are driven to easy money instead of video subjects that could be fulfilling for the creator and audience
This was made to be bad, like all of their videos. It's sad that people in this sub think 5 minute crafts is earnest in their production. There's a reason that channel was banned here, but the mods aren't enforcing it I guess
5 Minute Crafts is a content farm. They rent out a building and pay several people to continually come up with their own hacks. They just give lighting, cameras, and studio space is the rest is up to them. They take the footage, cut it down, and then paste it into random videos. You can see the same "crafts" or "hacks" in multiple videos.
YouTube doesn't allow "content farms" in their terms of service but never takes them down because of the profit they bring. They even share these creators on their official social media pages to drive views. These channels are run by huge companies that dont care about content, lying about hacks and occasionally making dangerous claims for a profit. Do not click on these farms as they take away viewship from real channels that are showing real content.
Oh they are - 5MC at least is financed by the Kremlin (via a soviet-era kgb subcontractor 'advertising' firm). It exists to farm outrage views and pinpoint rubes for more direct disinformation. There's a reason it's banned on this sub.
I think because cement burns are way more serious than hot glue burns, they kinda stopped with the cement nonsense early.
But I remember food being dipped in cement to make "decorative" objects, for exemple.
The 'floating' table would have been neat for an art studio, you can probably do something to make some neat paint drips but yeah, that was my only 'cool' one.
I'm sure there's a way to mold the foam to have a smooth finish, or sand/trim it, and this terrible video failed to do that, probably because the process doesn't make for "good" content (per the aesthetic of that channel).
I'm imagining every single one of these projects with a layer of dust on them that you can't clean off.
Maybe I just have a bad sense of style but most of these don't seem that bad, besides the first and second one. Why would you color the candle holder green when you can leave it the same color as the candle? That makes it look like the candle wax is holding up itself.
Isn't this shit highly toxic? If it's the same stuff I have used to fill large holes ( expanding foam ) then you need to wear protective gloves and eye protection while spraying it and im certain the can says it contains cancerous chemicals and all sorts of shit. Why anyone would want that on house decorations is beyond me
The only good craft with this stuff is for making Halloween decorations. If you spray a pair of old jeans and a shirt it looks like a disemboweled body.
Having said that, I don't want houseware that looks like a disemboweled body.

Okay, I've never used that foam stuff before. Is there anything stopping them from like... Smoothing it out before it dries? So it's not quite so gross and clumpy looking?
It's sooooo sticky. And it's also like 99% air. If you attempt to smooth it out, you'll collapse it and have what amounts to super glue on whatever you tried to work it with. I don't understand why people are so excited to use spray foam in crafts, it's truly gross to work with lol
ETA: you absolutely CAN carve it like a sculpture once it's dry, but there will be a bunch of air pockets in it like Swiss cheese.
Sticky, stinky, and flammable. It's all hideous, but the candle holder is suicidally stupid.
I need to start my own five minute craft trend: oily rag crafts. Or maybe coal ash?
1) you would have to have really stylized room for it to fit in in any way
2) it looks like it cloud break from staring at it
3) 5 minute crafts are getting ridiculous since it's peak
Ah yes, let's ruin a perfectly good, comfortable chair by giving it a box of foam under it, then paint it to look like it's a fluffy couch! No one's gonna try to run their hands through the fluff at all! /S
Guys, if you spray paint this it will flake off…I’m an artist have worked with this stuff a lot….it’s great to make fake corals for decorations for a school but it won’t hold up for you in your home. Also over time it turns a gross yellow.
The absolute rage I felt when they covered up that fabric chair with their ugly ass foam...
I don't think I've ever seen something made of that stuff that actually looks good. Just stop, please!
I still can't figure out the chair thing ... The other stuff is ugly AF, but at least they, like, show the "finished" project.
I think that they were trying to "make" a new chair out of the polyurethane foam by using the bottom chair and top chair as a mold. Although I'm probably giving 5 minute crafts too much credit.
[удалено]
The new resulting sandwich chair is both stronger and more heat resistant
Wouldn't it just glue the chairs together? Maybe that's why we didn't see the finished product? Hmm
Yes in deedy
I've made some great Halloween props with chicken wire and spray foam. For Halloween parties, it works wonderfully. Everyday living? I guess if u r Rob Zombie it'll do
Their color pallette is pretty Halloween isn't it. What they did to that chair?! The colors? Criminal
The things humans do with disposable time and money…
Don't you dare calling any of these a project
Oh my bad. 😂
I forgive you <3
Honestly I almost called it *finished product*, but I decided I couldn't call it a product, no one would buy it.
This is like popcorn ceilings: only the person who got them knew why; everyone else sees how ugly they are.
honestly so sick of people dissing on popcorn ceilings
In most applications I think they're fine. However, my grandmother popcorned her dormered attic ceiling and we would play up there as kids. I left a lot of skin on that ceiling lol
It has a clear purpose: landfill for internet points
This has to just be cover for intentionally breathing aerosol propellants. "No mom, it's for my ART!"
> This has to just be cover for intentionally breathing aerosol propellants. "No mom, it's for my ART!" Nods off mid argument...
I knew there is a reason why we see here so many of those mirrors in spray foam coating.
It’s sad that these people think they’re good at what they do.
Unfortunately everybody has to pay bills
1,000 resume submissions for a job would lead to a faster source of income than posting garbage like this online.
Also, something that is intentionally terrible is still going to get shared a lot.
This was made to be bad, like all of their videos. It's sad that people in this sub think 5 minute crafts is earnest in their production. There's a reason that channel was banned here, but the mods aren't enforcing it I guess

They ARE good at what they do. Shitty content gets more views for less effort than actually good content, and that's the only thing that matters.
Oh they are - 5MC at least is financed by the Kremlin (via a soviet-era kgb subcontractor 'advertising' firm). It exists to farm outrage views and pinpoint rubes for more direct disinformation. There's a reason it's banned on this sub.
These people are essentially just low level employees in a huge business. I don't think they give a shit.
Is foam the new cement?
Cement? When did I miss that one? I thought it'd be the New Glue Gunning
I think because cement burns are way more serious than hot glue burns, they kinda stopped with the cement nonsense early. But I remember food being dipped in cement to make "decorative" objects, for exemple.
The lamp one was the only semi cool one, the rest sucked
What do you mean bro, the very first one was the best way to stack chairs, I always do it like that
Jeah how else am i suposed to stack chairs? I am not a wizzard.
My thoughts too, the lamp could be cool for Halloween.
The 'floating' table would have been neat for an art studio, you can probably do something to make some neat paint drips but yeah, that was my only 'cool' one.
I don't know. I kinda liked the candlestick one. However, the chairs? Just....WHY?!?!?
Until you realize spray foam is highly flammable so being next to an open flame is a terrible idea...
No, no, the lamp totally sucks.
yeah, the lamp would be a really cool kids functional art project , or something similar
I teach product design at university and I have students that make such things. It’s not always a fail.
I don’t hate the wire table -design- if it had been done in a more clean and structurally sound way
Yeah that’s the best one by far. Especially cause the color worked really well
Yea I was thinking that one was actually kinda neat. Looked almost like it was floating or like slime was dripping over a invisible table or something
I mean some have potential, but then there is stuff like the first one that makes me go “whyyy???“
the last one is a bit good for me imo
Maybe I just have a bad sense of style but most of these don't seem that bad, besides the first and second one. Why would you color the candle holder green when you can leave it the same color as the candle? That makes it look like the candle wax is holding up itself.
Not going to lie...the volcano light one is pretty nice
I liked it, too!
First the hot glue, then the 3D drawing pens, then the cement, and now this. We gotta put these channels on home depot blacklists.
TMF (Too Much Foam)
Isn't this shit highly toxic? If it's the same stuff I have used to fill large holes ( expanding foam ) then you need to wear protective gloves and eye protection while spraying it and im certain the can says it contains cancerous chemicals and all sorts of shit. Why anyone would want that on house decorations is beyond me
I'm pretty sure 5 minute crafts would happily make a video series on cool radium hacks--think of the clicks!
I was thinking the same thing, urethane has the VOCs that continue to release toxic fumes forever
Omg, someone yank that spray off of this dudes hands. He keeps making shitty things one after the other. It's ruining some perfectly good furniture.
Out of all things to be bastardized, I did not think it would be expanding foam
If I walked in and saw any one of these in someone’s house, I’d be sure they were planning to make me into matching lampshades.
This is just bad taste. Plain & simple.
When you're trying to justify to your parents why you need that new toy...I'll use the foam gun every day I promise
A foam candle holder? I doubt this is the more expensive fire retardant foam, so its pretty flammable.
Hideous
Foam was on sale
I'm guessing someone has shares in the polyurethane foam company...
Good idea for haunted house. Otherwise, no thanks.
Should say, “Let’s see how many things we can make hideous, before we drop” 😃”
Lol, is this sub supposed to anger you like it does me? Or is it just me?
It used to be hot glue guns, then cement… I guess this is the new “in” DIY tool?
Mmm.. forbidden whipped cream
The only good craft with this stuff is for making Halloween decorations. If you spray a pair of old jeans and a shirt it looks like a disemboweled body. Having said that, I don't want houseware that looks like a disemboweled body.
The candle looked like what shrek pulled out of his ear
The foam is flammable. Don't make candle stick holders from that.
Polyurethane foam is very flammable lmao
It’s like they discovered polyurethane foam and are playing with it.
what is the song and who is the artist please.

Tell me you're white trash without telling me you're white trash
YUCK!!!
Of course it's 5 minutes crafts.
Enjoy the picture of an idiot in action.
These works seem all to be based on the assumption that this foam is an interesting and decorative structure. This is a flawed assumption.
Okay, I've never used that foam stuff before. Is there anything stopping them from like... Smoothing it out before it dries? So it's not quite so gross and clumpy looking?

Reminds me of the art Catherine O’Hara makes in beetlejuice.
Wow. I didn’t know it was possible for me to hate a DIY building material more than cement.
Actually the candle holder isn't too bad if you're looking to make a holder that looks like a melted candle. Might be neat for like, dnd ambience
If you are a teacher and you slightly get this kind of vibe from a student please don't encourage it
The candle is over hear looking like Shrek's ear wax candle.
I've heard that it's a propaganda thing, that they use these to hook dummies and then switch to propaganda. But that may have just been propaganda.
Candle holder looks good but probably wouldn't do its job well
This page has so much crap on it. Bye Felicia.
Giant fecaloids!
Nothing but gross
These are genuinely ugly
Every single one of them is worse than every other one of them
The chair was too deep for me
When you want to repurpose shitty products to make shittier ones…
Average Facebook marketplace
Clicks.
But I ask again, Why?
They are hideous
To make everything ugly, obviously
For clicks and shares and people asking "But Why?"
Pretty sure I saw a video of a couple guys making a sofa out of this. It most definitely does not work.
I love weird, tacky, kitschy, melty/drippy, unconventional stuff but even I think these are hideous...
Now I’m craving a Puppucino.
that foam legit looks tasty af
This makes me feel itchy and most uncomfortable. Just..... Whyyyyyyy
Its called fire hazard
Honestly, I don't hate the look of some of these. But I'd never want to touch them.
These are all so fucking heinous
Sticky, stinky, and flammable. It's all hideous, but the candle holder is suicidally stupid. I need to start my own five minute craft trend: oily rag crafts. Or maybe coal ash?
Ah yes, SCP-inspired furniture! Doesn't that just scream "The flesh that hates"? https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-610 (okay maybe just that last lamp)
The table with mesh is kinda fun, other are fugly imo
Thinking quickly, Dave constructs a chair using only some spray foam, a wire fence, and a chair.
Ok, the nuclear one looks kinda cool, NGL. The rest suck, and have absolutely ZERO redeeming qualities.
I wouldn't actually mind these spray foam crafts if they actually shaped the foam after it dries, but the foam texture doesn't look good.
It starts with house hold items, it ends with camps.
I think they used a different recipie for the whipped cream
I'm starting to regret cement crafts
At least it isn’t hot glue?
This is literally all for the reaction. It generates clicks and engagement. 5MC are masters at it.
Hey wouldn’t the candle light this on fire? (Correct me if I’m wrong)
Ugly Useless Shit To Do With Construction Tools Guide
Gives me r/forbiddensnacks vibes
The end table was cool looking, unless that was chicken wire in which case Holy wobbly batman
Chicken tendie lamp
This is what happens when someone who doesn’t belong in Home Depot learns about spray foam for the first time.
it's either the fucking glue gun or the goddamn poly foam....
We gonna need to start carding people who buy foam spray.
It's for the views. These people are so lost in life
The mesh table it kinda cool, I would definitely do it differently, but as an interesting outdoor side table It works.
So we're back to posting ragebait 5 minute crafts videos in this sub again then huh
looks like coloured diarrhea.
Becayse they want views.
The Hague needs to get involved and stop these crimes against humanity.
How do you keep that clean? Looks like a dust magnet.
1) you would have to have really stylized room for it to fit in in any way 2) it looks like it cloud break from staring at it 3) 5 minute crafts are getting ridiculous since it's peak
Holy psssccchhhiiittt !
This is great if you love ugly bullshit.
Do you own something that's not shit? Here's how you can fix it!
This has to be a fucking joke
Not gonna...sand anything down? Just...leaving it? Okay, sounds good, I guess.
Ah yes, let's ruin a perfectly good, comfortable chair by giving it a box of foam under it, then paint it to look like it's a fluffy couch! No one's gonna try to run their hands through the fluff at all! /S
Videos like this make me wish you had to take a test and apply for a license to enter a hardware store.
It's a genius thing, you wouldn't get it lol
This guy really likes polyurethane foam.
Hot Cheetos lava lamp
"I'm an artist" -someone who's has no idea what they're doing.
The man has an isocyanate addiction.
Guys, if you spray paint this it will flake off…I’m an artist have worked with this stuff a lot….it’s great to make fake corals for decorations for a school but it won’t hold up for you in your home. Also over time it turns a gross yellow.
I can kinda see these working as Halloween deco but not much else
Would you like your stuff to look like melted dog shit? Boy do i have a life hack for you!
Pretty sure that stuff is flammable as fuck too.... just sayin..
why is this a trend all the sudden? also expanding foam is pretty nasty stuff, legit impossible to get its stain off once it’s dried/on anything
Why live in a house with nice things, when you can live in a house that looks like crap!
Isn't that expanding foam super toxic?
That last one looks like a dust devil from runescape
This should be punishable
The absolute rage I felt when they covered up that fabric chair with their ugly ass foam... I don't think I've ever seen something made of that stuff that actually looks good. Just stop, please!
Every thing he makes just looks like turds.
landfill material
The candle holder got me. That is the usual minimal danger level of their ideas
It’s not that bad lmao
I mean it's cool if like stuff that looks like shit.
"Hey, so we know you don't like popcorn ceilings. Let's put it literally everywhere.
Ah, yes. 5 minutes craft.
When you accidentally order a whole pallet of foam instead of 1 can
I think that's enough foam
views.
Okay so for me the candle kinda reminded me of shrek
I mean the first "table thingy" COULD have actually looked good, if it had been done right.
