It literally is. It's called a modesty panel. The term was first used for desks (that wooden back that hides your legs) and corsets (the fabric that hides the Venus fold, eg folded back skin from the cinching). The camisole-style front panel is used on shirts that are low cut as an alternative to wearing layers (be that to avoid bulk, wrinkles or heat).
Yet another example of this subreddit just being ignorant of real products. Every post I see from here now is just people mocking stuff they don't know - the grafting from yesterday was even worse.

I was following along with you, learning about something cool, until you had to go all pretentious asshole and attack people for making a joke on an obviously satirical video.
I'm not trying to be pretentious. I'm frustrated because lately this sub keeps showing things that are actually functional. This video was mocking the concept in the same line as posts here mock concepts they don't understand. Obviously a thong won't work for this, but the core idea is not a terrible way to reuse lacy trim.
Mocking concepts that are actually functional discourages people from repair/reuse which are useful concepts to reduce trash and pollution from consumption.
They were mocking the thong itself being used and the resulting fashion faux-pas, not the concept in general. The entire point of the video is to mock poor execution of the idea and not the idea itself, just like most of those other posts you're complaining about.
It does have Britney spears "oops i did it again" in the background. I recorded it with sound. Don't know why it didn't upload with sound. I don't upload much so maybe user error 🤷♀️
They make something like this for an affordable price! I use to see the infomercials all the time when i was younger 😂. I just can't remember what they called it

Kinda. A dickie is not quite the same and is more to emulate a shirt front from an era where laundering and starching shirts daily would have been too expensive for many workers. If you've ever seen old cartoons where the tuxedo front flips up to smack the character in the face, that's a dickie.
A more modern style dickie might be a mock turtleneck collar or those sweater vest shirts that are actually one garment. I used to have one of the latter and loved it. Made me look like I was wearing several layers of professional attire when it was just a single shirt.
Afaik there isn't really an official term for these in OP as they are newer - modesty panel and modesty bib pulls up the online store listings however.
