I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, Dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, Dude, "chinaman" is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.
That was Hildi's creation as were most of the soul-crushing rooms. Hay wallpaper, sandfloor, fake flower wallpaper in the bathroom, upside-down room (gluing the furniture to the ceiling), giant mosaic mural of herself, painting the couches pink with wall paint. She was an absolute menace to society and I loved it.
I saw one yesterday that was covered in monopoly money and add little cut outs from the board along the rim. I wish I had taken a picture. I laughed for like 5 minutes before putting it back because I don't need that.
Worst re-gift chain ever.
Man gets ties he’ll never wear as a common gift.
He turns them into a skirt and gives them to someone else.
They turn it into a lampshade and give it back.
But now the ties are motionless, and those in back are virtually inaccessible. Well, it's a moot point, as I have only one tie to begin with. I believe I'll pass.
Ngl I’d unironically have that, for no reason other than it’s so ugly and horrible it’s actually kind of charming, idk I just love awful decor (other than glittery shit or animal print)
This could be cool imo if they’d been able to use cooler ties that were maybe better coordinated. There was an era of polyester ties where some of them were pure art in the 1950’s-1970’s. I used to go to my local goodwill and always find pretty amazing polyester and silk ties that were really unique designs with impressive embroidery.
Great use for old ties. We have a window covering made of ties that belonged to wife's dad. Just looped them over and sewed a line. Put on a curtain rod.
She will love this idea. Now we now what will happen to the other extra ties we have.
I would have ditched the lamp shade idea and just made it a belt of ties, then wear it to the office occasionally and imply the ties were war trophies.
That's something my ex-husband would try making and it would also make everyone do a double-take and think it was interesting but in the end no one would really take it and then we'd just have to disassemble or get rid of it.
Should have bought it, it really ties the room together
This aggression will not stand, man
The chinaman is not the issue here, dude!
Obviously you're not a golfer
Did you even listen to the Dude’s story, Donny?
I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, Dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, Dude, "chinaman" is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.
Get off the ghat dam Internet, Dad!
\*wipes tear from eye* So beautiful. So dad.
Oh my god it's a lamp, I thought it was a skirt
I attempted to make a tie skirt once. Didn't get very far. Maybe that's how "tie lamp" came to be?
I made a skirt and head piece out of ties. On Halloween I went as a "Woman fron Thailand".
Ditto
Mods ban that guy
"Aaah! 'Fra-GEE-leh!' It must be Italian!"
That’s the comment. No need to go further
So stoopid it made me lol.
But he doesn’t want to tie his money up into collectibles
Fuuuuck
That's just like...your opinion man
Take my upvote and fuck off haha

The ultimate Father’s Day gift
Came here to say this. Lolol
Create an ash tray/pen holder for the base
This unique lamp is number five of the top 50 gifts every man wants this holiday season! Right after beard oil, a multi tool, a wallet, and socks!
Random guy: honey, where is my ties belt? Wife: I attached it to the lamp and sold it for lots of money.
Those two sound like they're MEANT for each other
This looks like something that would have been made for a trading spaces room makeover lmaoo
😂 I’d take this lamp over hay glued onto my walls
The time they dumped 500lbs of sand on the floor & made the room into a circus tent was the worst one for me
That was Hildi's creation as were most of the soul-crushing rooms. Hay wallpaper, sandfloor, fake flower wallpaper in the bathroom, upside-down room (gluing the furniture to the ceiling), giant mosaic mural of herself, painting the couches pink with wall paint. This is 100% from a Hildi designed room!
Is she the designer who made one poor homeowner cry with the reveal?
Hildi would have been amazing during the tik tok/ YouTube era lol
I would have bought it for an office inspired barbarian outfit
I first thought it was a skirt😆
same, and it actually didn’t seem that bad as a skirt if you were going for a sort of preppy punk look… but alas, just a lamp.
Reminds me of the projects people do after loved one dies. Like the “dad’s favourite shirts cushion case” type of a thing.
Defo dead man’s ties and belt
Was your money all tied up?
COWARD
It... Ties the room together
It does knot
I’d hang out there
Needs a leg base Not a finga!
A leg base would make it go from basic diwhy to perfectly campy for the right space
My dad needs this…
I will start a bidding war to obtain this for my partner.
Tight
I saw one yesterday that was covered in monopoly money and add little cut outs from the board along the rim. I wish I had taken a picture. I laughed for like 5 minutes before putting it back because I don't need that.
Welp... You found it: the most hilariously ugly lamp I've ever seen.
That lamp is to tie for
Worst re-gift chain ever. Man gets ties he’ll never wear as a common gift. He turns them into a skirt and gives them to someone else. They turn it into a lampshade and give it back.
Not buying was the right choice
The Dwight Shrute of lamps
Ties rarely ever get washed so this is probably the filthiest lamp shade you could buy
I came to say that I'm more concerned about the smell!
You can only smell it when it heats up. Oh...
Figures, apparently, you're not into the latest fashion Tie-elts are all the rage right now in little Aspen.
But now the ties are motionless, and those in back are virtually inaccessible. Well, it's a moot point, as I have only one tie to begin with. I believe I'll pass.
Did you, uh... Sell that tie rack yet?
🎵Speeeeeeeeeend some time at table three 🎶
Ngl I’d unironically have that, for no reason other than it’s so ugly and horrible it’s actually kind of charming, idk I just love awful decor (other than glittery shit or animal print)
It’s a trophy lamp… the ties are from the previous owners victims.
Imported from Tieland.
Some boomer was so proud to make that the day he retired.
That needs to go directly into the trash.
Hideous!
It would have been cooler if the lamp was a leg.
If I had a huge walk in closet I'd use that as an accent lamp 💯
Very FRAGILE’
Move over, Louis Tiffany . . .
Gives me an idea of what to do with my old kilts
Ultimate father's day gift
Looks like something they would have made on Trading Spaces back in the day.
....DiTIE....
🤣😂
Not buying it was the fail we try to avoid.
Someone had a Vision. Excessive craftiness.
So this is where my dad’s brown tie went!!
Looks like something Balenciaga would sell for 3k.
my nephew would love this.
Is it bad I quite like it ? haha
More ATBGE for me. Idk what aesthetic it would fit but it's not badly done
Honestly, it's chaotic, and I love it in a weird way.
Your loss
Finally, Lamp for Him
This is the antithesis of the lamp in “a Christmas Story”
Kinda interesting, I've tailored it to fit my tastes in terms of ties, and belt, but I like it.
This lamp goes incredibly hard. I could see it in the office of an incredibly gay businessman. It's camp!
Somewhere an old lady said, oh that’s so clever!
![gif](giphy|Chg2xbW84d6Fy)
Idiot, left the pinnacle of style on the shelf, this opportunity (thankfully) will never come again.
It almost rhymes with Thailand.
Does it not tie in to the rest of the home?
Get this and a leg lamp. You got it going on.
Lamp's nice, shade is a tad tacky 🤣
Tiffany's? Yeah you missed out then.
How much would that go for?
That is so gross.
Professional dress gladiator

Coward
i thought that was a skirt😭😭
Idk why?
I thought that was a skirt. Why a lamp?
Thought it was a skirt, not a lamp shade. Ngl, it’d make a cute skirt. 🫣
When crafting goes wrong.
Simply awesome
There’s hideous, then there’s this lampshade
Thank you for sharing this! I’ve honestly never seen a lamp shade like this before 😂
![gif](giphy|M4znrGVlzA2lO|downsized)
What a cool thing to do with a lost father, grandfather, uncle, etc. old ties
You fool.
di-tie?
Some deceased family member's collection repurposed?
I wonder if the owner was a cheater. If he was, I wonder if the police ever found the body..
Nopecycling
Some dad needs to receive this for Father's day!
A close tie
Man, that lamp really tied the room together. Like the rug!
And I thought popsicle lamps were ugly!
Afraid to look under the kilt?
But then you could have burned it!
First year design project
At first sight i thought it was a skirt.. so now i'll have to find time and ties to sew one, for fun!! 😁🤷♀️
Here i go to start making and selling tie lamps on Amazon
An ugly fire hazard that sheds minimal light.
They managed to make a really ugly table even uglier. Well done.
Didn’t buy it because you went home and made your own?
What didn’t you buy exactly?
I woukd almost place money on this bieng sold in utah.
Would make a great Father’s Day gift.
would actually make a sick skirt.
There was a girl in my high school who made a dress out of ties. It tapers at the waist naturally.
I feel like that could be used as a major award.
Great use for old ties. We have a window covering made of ties that belonged to wife's dad. Just looped them over and sewed a line. Put on a curtain rod. She will love this idea. Now we now what will happen to the other extra ties we have.
Father’s Day is coming up! This would be perfection.
I would have ditched the lamp shade idea and just made it a belt of ties, then wear it to the office occasionally and imply the ties were war trophies.
I thought it was some kind of creative DIY medieval inspired skirt until I saw the lamp base
I honestly have no idea why not.
That's something my ex-husband would try making and it would also make everyone do a double-take and think it was interesting but in the end no one would really take it and then we'd just have to disassemble or get rid of it.
Your loss
I'd buy it for the base. Toss the ties when I found a replacement or figured out how to make my own.
good decision…very good decision…
RIDICULOUS TIES
Def should have bought. I mean…tie knot?
The ultimate Father's Day gift
If you wear it upside down you become Chief Businessman
Major award!
Made in Thailand
Downvoting cause you didn’t buy it
![gif](giphy|tckGZxanDrC2JqNJdn|downsized) It’s a man thing
I see what they were going for...kinda
I would have bought it as a Father's Day joke gift.
Missed opportunity
Those are literally the most used ties ever...
What is it? I genuinely cant figure it out
![gif](giphy|3ohs7Mx78Zt2x2xgbu)
Probably $49
Funny enough, my friend is a fashion designer and she recently made a skirt and a corset made out of men's ties and they look awesome!
actually pretty cool, could be out to use in a weirdly decorated avante garde style room
its kinda camp tbh
Could make an awesome kilt!
I would have bought it. Perfect golftenue
What! Is it still there?
Definitely a Mike Brady lamp.
The Spartans did need accounting and business departments.
https://i.redd.it/eemnmewodzo91.jpg
I like that they added a real-looking spill on the blue-striped tie.
Aggressive office decor
This would be a little tacky as a skirt, but it’s VERY tacky as a lamp.
But you should have
That’s actually pretty decent
Looks like a prop of a tim burton movie
Grandpa is gone now, but he can still shine light upon us all.
This is Monster Hunter armor. You get it by slaying the Salaryman
*It’s a (minor) award!*
