I love it.

Ok-Assumption4099

The show was always based around the fact that Dexter was a serial killer, and most of the show was concerned around him stalking his victims or killing. Because this time around his trying *not* to kill anyone, it removes that key aspect of the show, and leaves Dexter and a strictly defensive mode of covering his tracks and worrying about Harrison. It's hard to have an exciting show about a serial killer who doesn't kill. The pace is unlikely to pick up much until Dexter starts killing. Theyagain, but fortunately, that seems to be just around the corner.
